Im actually really looking forward to Bobby Bare... He is getting a lot of sh!t for being so old school but check out some of these songs...
1. Never went to bed with an ugly woman (lyrics bitten by Kenny Chesney.. 10 with a 2)
2. Tequila Sheila
3. One more horses ass
4. Beer drinkin christians
5. Up against the wall you redneck mother
Come on people, If that aint country... I'll kiss your ass!!!
I admit that I had never heard of Bobby Bare before Stagecoach put up his name. I'm a 25 year old who absolutely loves the old country classics. I look forward to Bobby Bare, Merle Haggard, Oak Ridge Boys and Little Jimmy Dickens. Go Merle!
Saw Merle Haggard, many, MANY years ago at our local county fair.....No light show, no effects, nothing....Just him, his guitar and a three-piece band.....He came out, sang his songs and left....at one point, he did tell the audience "I assume y'all paid to hear me sing songs and play guitar, not talk to you about a buncha bullshit, so I'll shut up and sing now"......awesome!! I think he was probably even a little drunk, which made it that much better....Mama Tried is still one of the best songs ever.....
Yes, I'm looking forward to Bobby Bare. I prefer the older, original Country singers over today's Country-Pop stars.
I have Detroit City & Miller's Cave 45's! Took those from my folk's collection when I was a kid. Also like Abilene. Can't wait to see Bobby Bare. Didn't want VIP tix because it's too hard to get to other stages & then fight the crowded fire lanes to get back to the $$ seat. Last yr sucked trying to get back up front. Will hang out in the back this yr.
