oooo love new music recommendations... gonna go look em up - thanks!
the avett brother are truly one of my favorites. i listen to them just about every day! my faves are "the ballad of love and hate", famous flower of manhattan", and "kickdrum heart"
This is one band that I can't wait to see ~ from what I've heard they're really good live!
same here. all i hear are good things :)
Never heard of em'...will have to get familiar with 3/4's of the lineup as a matter of fact.
Thanks,
Jason
Went to find their music on Google - absolutely horrible. They sound like someone stepped on their ball$. There will be 200 smiling ladies and 50 grumpy boyfriends during their show!

Yes - they are THAT bad. They cannot hit any notes and their songs are terrible...
Sorry IMTARB - THIS DUDE SAYS "Fill your cups and empty your tank while the Avett Brothers are singing!"

Ok so I just went and listened to their music. And I don't like saying anything that's not nice, especially when somebody else likes them, so I will just say that I will probably be skipping their performance. But to each their own. Hell I have Milli Vanilli and Snow in my iPod so who am I to judge :D:D
I'll admit - the first time I checked them out on youtube I thought:eek:  Seth Avett's screaming came across a little spastic - haha! But the more I listened to their music I started liking them and hear that their live performance is even better - lots of energy.
I'm not counting them out until I see them and hopefully they WILL be a "true hidden gem"
I listened to some....not a fan from what I listened to. But to each their own! And Chev, I love Informer!! =)
Must listen to I and Love and You. Alas, to each their own, but it's always good to hear some new talent.
imtarb - yeah I love that song!
Check out Scott Avett doing Merle's "Ramblin Fever"

I know y'all aren't diggin' these guys but their song "Head full of doubt/Road full of Promise" was played on Brothers and Sisters last night ~ absolutely beautiful!!
They are definitely a Song Writers band.. their lyrics are genius and have more soul in each one of them than purgatory! they have a traditional and true sound to them.. I love "If It's The Beaches", "I And Love And You" and "Kick Drum Heart" but there's not a single song on any of their albums that I would skip.. I'm definitely looking forward to these guys live and also I'm anxious to see Trampled By Turtles.. New album out which is f'ing insane good. talk about lyrics on the verge of death! Can't wait!!
Saw the Avett Brothers at Coachella and they put on an amazing show to a huge audience at the 2nd biggest stage. I will be surprised if there is a very big crowd at Stagecoach, but that's all right with me. They are one of my only reasons for going.... Murdered in the city, Die die die, and Paranoia in B flat major are my favorites...
AVETT BROTHERS ROCK!!!:D
Did not play any of my top 3 but I absolutely LOVED them!
I will definitely see them again!!
I didn't like any of their songs that I had heard on youtube prior to their performance on Sunday. However, I have to say that I enjoyed their performance and certainly had a great time rocking to their music
I've seen them 8 times now, and that was probably in my top 2 or 3 performances. So much better than their Coachella set cause there weren't any sound problems this time, and they played more country-tinged songs. Loved the set. And the crowd was so into it.
