Anyone over 55 going from LngBch/OC area?
I'm a great country music fan and listen to 105.1 all the time. Would like to contact anyone "older" who is going to Stagecoach. (My friends aren't country fans, and when I went to an event alone, some people were very rude and insulting to me, and it spoiled the day for me) Thanks.
Re: Anyone over 55 going from LngBch/OC area?
I'm not quite 55 yet but working my way towards there. I ALWAYS go to concerts alone and I go to quite a few....maybe try smiling and saying hello to strangers will change the way people treat/react to you. I make so many new friends. Of course there is always the bad seed in a crowd and sorry that you met them, but NEVER let anybody control your fun.
Re: Anyone over 55 going from LngBch/OC area?
I hope you still decide to join the fun! I was living on the east coast for 5 months and I knew no one but I still managed to make my way alone to several concerts. People were friendly and I had a great time. I hope you can have a similar experience!
Re: Anyone over 55 going from LngBch/OC area?
I'm not quite 55 but pretty dang close and I also go alone to concerts. I pretend I'm not as old as I am and that helps. =o)
If this is your first time at Stagecoach, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised as to how nice people can be.
Re: Anyone over 55 going from LngBch/OC area?
im no where near 55 but go to concerts alone a lot of the time too. Last year before stagecoach i was pretty shy but got on the message board and met a couple of people I could meet up with when I got there. Everyone's right, there are nice people at stagecoach, you just have to find them! I can't wait to party with the people i've met on here this year and those I've met before!
Re: Anyone over 55 going from LngBch/OC area?
I take my mom every year and she has met several nice ladies who attended SC alone. She has a great time, you will meet loads of nice people. We leave from the LB area but tow a trailer so it is slow going. I havent quite decided when we will be leaving, depends on the kids school work.

The following is a PM sent to me by BritAmeri...
Even though I rec'd rsps which didn't help, they were mostly nice. You may have meant well but your answer was presumptuous and condescending. I DO smile and say hello.
My response...
I hope you have a good time at Stagecoach...alone or with friends.

oh my gosh.... did she really mis intrepret your post? I sort of understood your post to mean, lots of us go places alone, and often times a smile triggers the same reaction..
Re: Anyone over 55 going from LngBch/OC area?
I didn't mean anything presumptuous or condescending. Sorry if you took my response that way.
I once had an assignment many years ago where I had to go out alone in uncomfortable situations and do nothing but smile and make eye contact with every person I saw. It taught me so much that day about action and reaction. I had to go to a very upscale restaurant alone and then to the movies alone. Was not allowed to take a book, use a cell phone or distract myself from my surroundings. I couldn't believe how many people smiled back and actually started conversations with me. A group of people I met at the movies waiting in line invited me to join and sit with them but I was not allowed in the experiment/lesson. I will never forget that day.

Rose, I didn't see your post as condescending either! You were just saying what works for you!
The country luau....I was the youngest one there but I had no problem talking to the the vets. They were so awesome and nice and genuinely wanted to talk to us. Yay for meeting new people! Hell, you ALL were strangers to me and now you are some great friends!

HEY NOW...WWII was 1939 - 1945. More like Vietnam War
When you drink enough of them then spelling goes out the window. :D
