I noticed on some of the posts people talking about coolers full of beer in their campsites and RV sites. I thought you were not allowed to bring in alcohol or was this beer/alcohol purchased inside the venue grounds? I am not clear. Can we bring in our RV our own beer or alcohol from home into the RV camping area or not? Or does it have to be purchased from the stores on the grounds/property? Thanks.

I would think that whatever you brought in your RV is your business so BYOB! Once inside the event, that's another story.

Last year, they said no alcohol. Last year, they said no bar-b-ques. Last year, all that got taken back on friday after a lot of us had already got there. You just cant take it into the event

Is it ok to post after this?

I wasn't so worried about the health affects, but was thinking the RV would've gotten a lot better mileage if not for all the cases of beer onboard. From what I heard people got away with gas grills but charcoal bbq was out of the question.

The Local FD is real concerned about mixing fire, fun and Al K Hall
The cook off has to do a number of things to be in compliance

Harry, I am not sure you are going to like all the Al K Hall (love that Thom) talk. I dont think there is anyway you are going to persuade this group to cut down on the consumption. We all know the facts, but just dont pay attention.
Welcome and GOOD LUCK.

My mom had a drinking problem for a couple of years. So I understand how destructive addictions can be. I like to have a few drinks socially with good friends that I feel I can trust and let loose a little with. I will not drive after drinking. When we go out my hubby will have a couple of drinks early, then no more so he can drive us home. I have never gotten fall down drunk, I like to still enjoy and remember the fun I had.

I admire those who are recovering, they have great strength and I wish them continued success.

You're my hero Abra!

Just because some of us drink doesn't mean that we don't try to take care of our bodies. I'm at the gym 5 days a week, I joined Weight Watchers, and have since lost 48 pounds. 40 more to go, but I'm managing to do it AND have a few drinks at the same time. I don't drink to the point of blacking out, to where I don't go to work, where I drink and I drive. I'm a responsible drinker and yes, Kymery, you are a MILF!

Once you hit your mid 30's your body reminds you when you don't treat it right. Now days I eat pretty good, drink lots of water(almost no sodas), stay very active, and pretend it makes up for all the red cups at the end of the day.

if you are recovering from alcohol then i salute you. that is a great thing you are doing. but for the rest of us, alcohol in moderation is a fun thing that loosens the uptightness and gets us ready to party. stagecoach 08 was one big drunken fest, id expect 09 to be the same and thats why im going. all the great music, bands, fun, and yes... booze.

whats with the AA theme to this thread? if folks want to get hammered, get hammered. just remember, don't be a hassle for anyone else. if you can't handle booze, know when to quit. some people need to be sober, some need to be wasted, neither group should judge the other.

btw, not all people that get hammered are alcoholics (even if AA wants you to believe that).

lighten up guys . . . . :)

btw, so how were the alcohol rules enforced last year? my take is, they say no alcohol in the RV area because they want to reserve the right to throw out the out of control boozers.

thoughts?

I thought they were pretty cool in the parking lot at the new arena..they just asked us to pour the beer in a cup, so the bottle-can wasn't visible on the security camera. that's what they do at some of the stadiums, too. I am pretty sure arenas do not advertise tailgaiting...it just happens..... BUT... there is an on line survey for the CBA, fill it out if you have a complaint about their policy.
