This is kinda started from another thread but a very good question.

Who did you see for your very first concert, where and with whom?

Mine was Bondie, Heart of Glass Tour, Greek Theatre when I was 15. It was a birthday present from my girlfriends and 6 of us went.

This was the start of what was considered punk rock and I was shocked by the look at the time. I had never before seen a baby diaper pin through the cheek of a person. hehehehe Now that would be considered blazee and wouldn't get a second look.

My aunt was mortified when "Why don't we get drunk and screw" was played....she tried to cover my ears!! LOL!!! When my Mom, home in CA heard we were at the show she was not happy Hahahahaha!! Now I am a PARROT HEAD!!!

I think mine was Van Halen, I worked at Musicland and my mom "knew" the promotor for the Forum in LA so I was able to get free tickets for their, saw so many concerts there.

But then I was thinking, maybe it was Oingo Boingo and Prince at the Forum, when Prince came out in diapers and we all booed him off stage.

Mine was Testament/Megadeath/Judas Priest - Pain Killers in San Diego at the Sports Arena.

I said on another thread that Stagecoach will be my 11 year old's first concert, but technically speaking, she saw Pink Floyd at the MGM Grand in Vegas when she was 3-4. She of course doesn't remember it though, so we won't count it.

She was adorable, sitting on the edge of her seat and rocking, it looked like she was banging her head to "Another Brick In The Wall"! That's my girl....

Michigan State Fair in Detroit in the 60s. Not sure who I saw in what order - but included Cowsills, Fifth Dimension, Arthur Godfrey, James Darren, Sergio Mendez, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Ed Ames, Willie Nelson, and many others who I will never, um, forget. In the 70s at the same state fair I saw Loretta Lynn, Buck Owens, Roy Clark, Bob Hope, and Roy Rogers & Dale Evans.

first concert... Fleetwood Mac at the Forum

I'm LOVIN all you van halen people. that's my main squeeze band! saw them at the forum on the 1984 tour (i was 14)... then waited 23 looooong years to see them again. but it was worth it. went to all 4 LA shows and even sat in the front row for the last one. best night of my life. cherry on the cake of it was my husband caught the drum stick that ed threw out after he did a guitar solo with it. pretty sure i wet myself.

Doobie Bros. and Steve Miller at Blockbuster Pavillion.

I think they did this 3 summers in a row. It was the first one.

My second concert was Ozzfest.

Then, REO Speedwagon, Peter Frampton, Doobies again, Miller again.

From there, it was all country.

Aaahhh yes, the days of getting up early and dragging your mom to a Tower Records store (or May Co!) and making her get in line with hundreds of teeney-bopper girls to get tickets for NKOTB! haha

that is country down to the childhood core! strong!

i'm a convert myself... didn't listen to it in high school. was kind of a metal head... Van Halen, Scorps, Motley Crue, Ratt. But ya know what I've noticed?.... there is some kind of similar attraction between the two genres. i now LOTS of people that love country and metal.

lol, So do I! A few of my friends like metal/rock and when they get in my truck, I ask them what they want to hear, and they grab my ipod and turn it to country!!
They even choose George Strait without me asking! lol

1st concert was George Jones and Tammy Wynette at the Grand Ole Opry in the 70's. I was about 10. The old Opry house...the one where the Air Conditioner was the fan you were fanning yourself with.

That would be me. I burn cd's to play on the computer while I'm at work. I invariably have a list that includes Big & Rich, James Otto, Gretchen Wilson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Nickelback, Metallica and AC-DC. :)

Oh, how about ZZ Top at the Palace of Auburn Hills (Detroit) circa 1990? I'm embarassed to say my first concert wasn't until I was a freshman in college. Then I came home and went to work for StaffPro. Since then I've seen HUNDREDS of some of the best shows ever...plus a few I'd rather not remember!

KISS in Cleveland, OH. The car door key broke off because the door lock was frozen solid. Was stuck in freezing Cleveland until 2:00am (not fun). Moved to SO CA before the next winter.

I did see the Eagles on their Hotel California Tour (they were great ) also saw Zeplin, Queen, Journey, Forienger, and Bad Company that year.

I am a country girl at heart though, went to SC last year, I enjoyed Sugarland so much I went to see them again at Nokia with, Little Big Town and Josh Turner. Also saw Martina at the OC Fair she was awesome!!!
Wouldn't it be great to get her at SC next year?

My first concert was Bryan Adams. I was 11 years old. My mom worked at Universal Amphitheatre as a nurse and got me and my best friend in. She set us up with pit passes, back stage wristbands, introduced us to security and her off-duty coworkers who were attending -- then she let us have at it. Full run of the entire place! Thankfully for her career, we weren't trouble makers!
