Stagecoach virgin here, how many people are we looking at going?
lots of peeps go last year???

I saw lots of different head counts. One said 30,000, another newspaper said 50,000. I expect it to be more crowded this year because so many more people are aware of the festival and they are advertising on TV too.

compared to the venue, is there going to be room to breathe, or will it be walls and walls of people???

Empire Polo field is HUGH. If I had to guess I would assume it can easily hold 80,000 people. I'm sure it's a lot more crowded for Cochella.

i'll be at both, as will quite a few others...it's def. not all country.

Gonna be crowded up front but there is plenty of wide open space to step back iffin' ya want to:)

If you are asking about the RV spots, then yes, but tents, most likely not. But they only sell as many tickets for RVs as they have spots (in theory), where tents its first come first serve.

ED 1 is already sold out and that was weeks ago. I wonder if the VIP area will be sold out? I sure didn't see any empty seats last year during the headliner performances although they did add quite a few more seats.

so if you get a tent spot, you have to get there early to insure you get the spot you want?

you may just get the spot they assign you, not sure if you are allowed to pick and choose.

Correct. Last year as you entered the campground, they literally escorted you to a spot. And you did not get to pick its location, the next empty spot was your spot. End of story. Kind of like directing cars into a parking lot. They really need to do it that way to make sure they optimize the space available, and so people that need more than one spot get their spots next to each other. And if I remember correctly, they were even marked out like parking spaces.....

So if we have 4 people in 2 cars, we basically have to enter together in order to be able to camp together in the tent only area?

Well, I suggest that you be together, cuz yes, if you get there first, they will give you the next spot, they dont skip over it...like someoen said before, it is like they are parking you, one spot after the next. They would loose control of what spots are left if they just let everyone claim their land.
