Sorry. You make valid points, but in my experience in complaining, or, questioning their philosophies, all I got was, "it's in writing, plain as day" blah, blah, blah. And the attitude of "hey, we're doing you a favor by having this concert" blah, blah, blah. I hope you have better luck with them.

ha ha.. yes I know what you mean with the bla bla stuff...however I have also learned that MANY people make their rules as they go....some may be day employees, or even event coordinators that make an internal decision without offical approval. In a situation such as this...where safety, is not the concern but equity for event go-ers , THERE HAS TO BE AN OFFICIAL POLICY....IN WRITING...THAT IS ON THE GROUNDS AND IN THE CITY FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO VIEW!! It cannot be a decision made by a few. There is no solid basis, explanation, justifiction for the issues I've raised. To say to a festival attendee, who may be a per day attendee, they must stay within the festival confines for the duration of the event is akin to being held "hostage". But yet the campers can come and go? It is early, I am just beginning to rattle a few cages. They do not know who I am....yet.

goldenvoice has been running shows for decades and festivals of this magnitude for close to 10 years. how many shows, festivals especially, let you go in and out of the venue? none that i have been to in california over the last 15 years. and to say it is an issue of safety is ridiculous. coachella fest does not allow in and outs of any kind. you should be happy that it is even an option for stagecoach. don't like it? start your own festival. i think goldenvoice knows what they are doing.

would it be fair for someone with an rv to come and invite 30 of their friends to come and take over the site even if they aren't going to the show or spending the weekend there? no. otherwise local residents would probably show up, too, just to hang out and party, creating even more of a clusterf**k in terms of parking, etc. with the wristbands it will keep crowds controlled to a certain extent and keep things from getting out of control. it also costs a lot of money to run the thing. only collecting money on a per rv basis would not be enough to make it financially feasible. the answers are pretty basic.

i'm guessing there are no ins and outs for non campers because of traffic control and parking lot issues. what if thousands of people decided they wanted to go to their cars and leave for a few hours to get something to eat, run back to the hotel, etc. it would be a nightmare with all of those people leaving while possibly hundreds to thousands more are trying to arrive. can you imagine the nightmare it would be in a dirt parking lot with people going every which way the whole day? that is a safety issue. once again, the answers are pretty obvious.

I can certainly understand the need to prevent traffic going in and out of the car park all day, but is the car park "outside" the festival site? What I want to know is can I leave stuff in my car and pick it up sometime during the day? Or will they not let me out to the car park and then back in??

regular attendee's are not allowed to go in and out to their cars. only people with camping wristbands are allowed to do so.

there is actually a great option, though. you can rent a locker for the weekend that is inside the festival grounds. i think a small one runs $48 and if you return the key at the end of the weekend you get $20 back for the key deposit, so $28 overall.

The "parking" is not close to the campground - and the campground entry is seperate from the non campers. If you really want in and out - have a camping friend buy you a camp ground wrist band - put it on, and you can go in and out of the CAMP ground entry. Simple. And yes - it will cost $50.00 - and Stagecoach is in this for a profit.

Last year my husband and I stayed at a B&B nearby and I had concerns about the no in & out thing, but we rented a locker and we were pretty happy with it. It was on the far side of the festival, but it held every thing we needed for the day and night (sunblock, light jackets, souvenirs we bought etc). For us, it really wasn't that bad not being able to go in & out.

Thank you.... that helps. I'm assuming they checked your bags at the gate, and that your own snacks and beverages weren't allowed, right? Did they really take the spray bottles too? Read that on one of the posts. They seem pretty flexible with the chairs which is good news.

They didn't really do a thorough search. They just asked me to open my bag and that was it. We read that you weren't allowed to bring drinks or food, so we didn't. :) Glad I could offer you some help :)

It isnt that bad regarding the food. Tons of options!! There are plenty of places to relax and enjoy. Consider it like a day at D-land, once you are in there, there is plenty to do on top of the concerts. It is nice for the campers in and out, guess that is what we get for our EXPENSIVE $50 per person fee.

I also agree with you that it is high priced in MY opinion. Last year I won tickets so I was barely able to afford the camping for just two of us. But this year at the prices and having to probably buy tickets, unfortunately we wont be able to attend, and that is sad for many people. But my parents offered for me to stay at their place aobut 1/2 mile away at nights so I can go IF I can afford the couple hundred to get in! hehehe.

Last year there were tons on questions, seems couldnt get all of them straight. We got there and some rules/laws changed. So just go with an open mind and have fun. You will leave happy, I promise, it was a blast!

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. Everyone has the "option" to camp at the festival. We are and paid extra for everything, but the way I see it, if I'm drinking, I definately don't want to be driving to a hotel and end up either in an accident or jail. When I compare "driving to a hotel" and "camping", the cost is minimal compared to the risk you'd be taking. Also, if you're not a "camper" you have no business in the camping area. People who camp out make it their temporary home for the weekend. We want to feel secure about leaving our "home" unattended. We did the RV thing last year and already have our RV reservations with electrical paid for already. Look, you can buy a tent for less than $100 and an air mattress for less than $50, blankets, pillows and you're set. They provide everything else. Pay for the tent site and $50 to go in and out is a deal, like I said before, compare the cost of that to an attorney or a hospital bill.

Just my opinion and everyone's entitled to one!!!!
