Will we be able to return to our car during the day to pick up/leave stuff or should we rent a locker?
I imagine the traffic will be heavy leaving the parking lot each night? As our hotel is only 4 miles away we were thinking of taking a taxi there and back - will taxis have an easier route to/from the site? Will the fares be increased because of the festival?
Any advice would be appreciated!
i believe you CAN, but the parking lot is a good walk from the gates. i don't imagine it's something you're going to want to do. ....that's for regular parking, i don't know about camping parking.
traffic was heavy last year but not unbearable. i didn't do taxi myself but i'm sure someone will ring in on that one. sounds like a good idea!

CountryBrit, We have back up reservations at a local hotel too, just in case the RV camping rules and fees are too steep ($50 per person fee JUST to stay in the motor home????!) I was wondering the same thing, will we have the opportunity to come and go during the day to go to our car? I read somewhere that there is "no in and out access", UNLESS you have that campers wristband.. Can anyone confirm this?

Not sure about general parking in and out, and I don't recall if there was anything posted about no re-entry. I camped last year and we all had our camping wristbands, at $50 each. The gate we came in and out of was pretty strict about having the wristband. A friend of mine came for 1 day (Sat) and couldn't get to our trailer.

Can we bring a wagon just to carry our camping gear from the parking lot to our campsite?

They didn't seem to mind last year BUT they will not let you bring a wagon INSIDE the event:)

Traffic leaving last year was heavy, but orderly. Not what we'd consider bad & we're not from a congested area. I've seen worse after the races at county fairs. (Of course everyone leaving the races seems to think they're Richard Petty. Come to think of it, from all the singing I heard on the way out maybe everyone leaving Stagecoach last year thought they were Alan Jackson! Might not have been any closer to the truth but at least they were less dangerous.)

Yes. You have in and outs if you are a camper in the rv or tent section. i wouldn't miss this for the world.

No in and outs unless you have a camping wrist band.
