Hey guys! I was on the spot back in December, when the tickets for electrical, and rv/ tow vehicle, was very misleading. I bought the electrical site for $150 and thought that was all I needed. Now they say, from what I've read, that they've clarified it since then that you need both an RV pass and the electrical pass. I'm also being told that it is now "sold-out" and I can't get an RV pass in ED 1. How in the world can it be "sold-out" if I have an electrical hook-up pass that I paid for and confirmed through ticketmaster? The way a professional organization would have done it was to do it as a "combo" pass and charged one price (no confusion). Needless to say we are fuming and hurt over this! We need someones help. If anyone out there has the misfortune of not being able to use there ED 1 RV pass, we'd be more than happy to purchase it from you and cover any and all fees that you incurred from the purchase. And a bonus may be in order as well (Angels tickets, I'm a season seat holder of four seats). Thank you for your help guys, we really appreciate it.

Well I have 2 Tow vehicles permits of which I do not have a Tow vehicle as described by the web site-
Wonder if we can get Country girl to intervene and take my 2 75.00 dollar TV tickets and allow an exchange for an RV Ticket.
The space would seem to be there since the vehicles will not:) :)

That would be awesome! I sincerely thank you for thinking of us! I sent her a message last night in hopes of an explanation as to how I could have an electrical hook-up site but can't use it? LOL! It makes no sense. If the electrical space has been sold to me, how can it not be available for me to purchase the RV pass? If she can help with your suggestion, I will make it worth your while. Are you local? I'd be happy to part with an Angels game of your choice if you can help. Of course I will pay you for the pass/passes as well. Thanks again! We really appreciate it!

I think the reason is because not every spot in Eldo 1 has electrical. Last year, there were only a few rows that had it. Therefore, you can get a spot in Eldo without the Electrical. You are right, the set up is crazy. As stated, if the concert was today after everyone who has a ticket is in, there would be one VACANT spot in the Electrical Zone. So if this is the case, is there a chance that they have OVERSOLD SPOTS IN ELDORADO 1? Now that is scary and would love to get a comment from Countrygirl or someone else at GV guaranteeing that they did not oversell this section.
By the way, I have a spot in Eldo 1, to spread out costs I will purchase the "camping pass" along the way as I have multiple people. However, now Eldo 1 is closed and I can't get in. So I am assuming that going to one of the open camp area's and purchasing a "camping pass" of $50 pp there will not be restricted to that area right?

There are only a limited amount of electrical passes. they were only available in el dorado 1.
There are TONS of el dorado 1 campers who did not buy electrcial.
an electrical pass is just for electrical
this info has been the same on the onsite camping page since before tickets went on sale.
BY THE WAY, PER PERSON CAMPING PASSES ARE ALL THE SAME. . IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED AN RV PASS FOR EL DORADO 1 YOU CAN STILL HAVE PEOPLE CRAM INTO YOUR RV IF THEY BUY A PER PERSON CAMPING PASS (FORUM, INTERNATIONAL, WHATEVER )

ok so what about our friend hunnypooh who has the electrical pass but now no rv permit for eldorado 1!!!!????? we also ran into this problem a few weeks ago, even ticket master had no idea that people needed the rv permits when they purchased the electrical hook ups. they even stated at the time that ALOT of people purchased the electrical with no rv permits. communication people!!!!!!everyone should plan on getting to the camp ground early because there is going to be alot of ANGRY campers with out one or the other passes!!!! also i agree if, an electrical spot was sold, there automatically should be an open spot for an rv. RIGHT???

This is exactly my point. I purchased an "electrical pass" through ticketmaster for $150.00. So in theory, I should have a spot in the "electrical hook-up" area. If there were only a few "designated" electrical spaces, and I paid for one, then the spot should be available to me. I have no problem paying the $100 for the RV that is Mandatory. And as for the comment about the info not being changed, that is not true. I read on this board that a clarification was made regading this issue. Bottom line is, it is VERY MISLEADING, and we weren't the only ones confused by this. It appears to me now that they OVERSOLD the area. Why didn't they combine the fees for the electrical spaces and RV and sold that way? I made sure to get in at the beginning when tickets went on sale. We spent a ton of money last year and already this year and this is how we are treated? Why can't you answer the question without hiding behind what it "now" says on the info sheet. Are you saying that I am out $150 and a space because you sold my spot to someone else? Are you saying we lose out on our spot that we paid for because it's our own fault that it looks like a 3rd grader created the RV/Parking/camping fees. What are you telling us? How on earth can you sell an electrical hook-up to someone and then tell them they can't use it? I'm not sure how you are affiliated with this event, but your responses basically say, "sorry, you're screwed"! I'm sure if this happened to you, you would want some direction on what to do, who to contact, or why this has happened. And why would I "CRAM" into someone elses space when I already paid for my own. Give me a simple answer as to what happened when I paid for the "ELECTRICAL HOOK-UP". Or give me a contact number to Goldenvoices Public Relations department and I won't bother you with this again.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard this about ticketmaster as well! See Countrygurl and Stagecoach want to hide behind this "politician" type spin. I read a thread here somehwere where she said she or they made a clarification after the fact and after the tickets were on sale. Simple fact is, they OVERSOLD the area. Nothing like a good time getting slammed into a nightmare! I think this event is too big for their britches! Time to hand it over to a REAL event coordinator. Oh, I'm getting there on Wednesday and I will get in MY spot! Stagecoach/Goldenvoice created this mess and now they're trying to put it on the folks that are funding their paycheck. Nice guys huh?

The way I saw it explained on these boards was that all the RV spots are the same and that if you bought electrical then they run a line out to your spot once you are there.
It's probably similar to running an extension chord from your kitchen window out to your cousin Eddie's RV in the street.

We attended last year and had purchased an RV camping pass & an Electrical Hook up pass from someone on this board. Once we got there (around 8pm Friday night) we were told that we didnt need to have both; that it was one or the other and that we had wasted our money. Then when we pulled up to hook up to the electrical spots we were told that they had run out of electrical spots and that we were out of luck (they were very unhelpful)! We were told to find a rep who would help us with a refund however each person we found directed us to someone else. I was never able to find the correct person so we ended up paying double the money for something we never even got to use! Hopefully they have worked out some of the kinks this year!

That is what I'm afraid is going to happen this year, especially since they've decided to add on Friday's concert and have opened up camping on Wednesday. We are not arriving until Friday evening. I will not be a happy camper if we pay for electric and don't get it!

Last year the Electrical spots I recall were only in certain rows and NOT the closest to the entrance. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to eyeball remember about 2,000 spaces in what is now Eldorado 1. OF those I'd estimate 2-3 rows @ 40 spaces per row were Electrical (now remember I'm going off my head on this).
This year, the "word" is they had about 1,000 Electrical spots and the "word" is they were putting those up front near the entrance as a premium. So that would mean half of Eldorado 1 has Electrical. They ran Electrical distribution panels and cords in those rows only where you had an Electrical pass. So, if this is all true, if you don't have Electrical, you could be starting half way back in Eldo 1 to begin with if you get there first.
Truth in adverstising would dictate (ok, so your all laughing now) that their little maps of the campsites would also show where the electrical is. Since this is not a small operation, someone already has a schematic drawn up that shows the layout of ALL campsites, how the electrical distribution will occur etc. So my bet is, if you have Eldorado 1 and you didn't buy Electrical, those arriving Friday will be about 75 feet closer than Eldorado 2 and a few duckets lighter in the wallet. OH yeah, and that is if there is no truth to the apparent fact that they OVERSOLD this area by as many as 50 spots (that is an entire row plus based on my memory).
I tell you what, luckily I'm so cal local, me n a buddy are driving our rig out Wed, parking it, going back to work for a day n half then coming all in one car for the weekend.
GOLDENVOICE HERE IS A SUGGESTION ---- next year sell the friggin spots all inclusive and have the exact # you really have available... so a spot w/Electrical $250 (or whatever), spot w/o electrical $100, Eldo 2 $75, Int'l $50, Tents $50 --- oh my god, how hard is that.....

There were at least 10 rows last year with Electrical - we got there on the 'late side - which put us further away from the Food and Beverage area - but closer to the entrance - a quirk of being late - turned out good. I think you're right -the spots should be pre-reserved and assigned - even the biggest rigs last year could back into any spot given the size of the Aisles.... and then people could 'buy' together and be near each other rather then having to caravan in.... well this is next year - they still have to get through this year

Good God, this is going to be a mess again this year:eek:
I can't imagine what it is going to be like Friday night. Last year they said we could reserve a spot for a friend as long as we had their RV ticket but then due to Chaos on Friday night they shut the entrance. Luckily our friends were tenting it so they parked their truck and we used a wagon to haul their stuff to our Trailer.
This year they do not allow the saving of spots but there is going to be some PO'd folks come Friday night when they discover they have over sold El Dorado 1

what are you talking about over sold el dorado 1?
why are you posting false info? are you trying to upset people for no reason?
Example:
1000 Rv Spots
of which
100 have Electric
900 with out electric
100 with Electric
You have no idea when Electric/RV ticket holders are arriving so those 100 spots have to remain available until Sunday Night- correct
BUT we already know of One electric that does not have an RV but an RV ticket was sold.
You are now at 901 in Non electric= Over sold
Countrygurl
02-19-2008, 01:47 PM
There are a certain number of total RV spots, those are sold out
There are a certain number of electrical passes, those are sold out
if an rv doesnt have an electrical pass, they wont get electricity - that is all that means.
So there will be one less rv with electrical is all.
Broccoli1

What is the procedure for checking in when we arrive?
I assume we have to let the parking folks know if we have Electric or not.
Electric- this way
No Electric- that way
At some point the Non-electric becomes full because there is no other way to separate the two.
Electric can only be a certain distance from the generators just like last year.

its just rows of rv's.. someone will be in or closer to the ones with electrical, but wont get electrical.
more realistically is there will be extra space. Its not like there isnt plans for extra space for weird circumstances.

The wierd circumstance will be the angry mob who bought electrical tickets and didn't realize they also needed an rv pass as well. Not that Stagecoach/Goldenvoice cares about that. I mean heck, they've made their money already!
And if you say there'll be extra space why would they not sell that to someone who paid for an electrical pass? Makes no sense! Once again!

We were 'late' arrivers last year - sun setting on Friday night - we had no problem getting our spot with Electric - nor did the hundred plus rv's who followed us in to our area.... I didn't come across anyone who didn't get what they paid for from Goldenvoice/Stagecoach in the camping. And frankly - that they even have this message board - with CountryGurl goes a long way to show they do care what kind of experience you have..... my 2 cents.....

This opens the door wide open for the scalpers next year to swoop up all the Eldo 1 RV "non-electric" and "electric" passes seeing as how coveted they are. Seems like even moreso than the VIP concert passes.

I am absolutely glad that you are quoting that Eldo 1 has not been oversold. Don't want to perpetuate rumors but it was out there on the street from reliable sources.... fantastic and good as it is now in writing in a public forum. Soooooo looking forward to the event again this year. Was a blast last year which is why I got my "key tickets" the day they went on sale. ALSO kudo's on going to the Daily Sales.... although I would have been just as excited to go back to the 2 day'r cuz I'll be there for the weekend. I'm going to be real curious on how Friday turns out. I really hope it doesn't financial kill the event as I'm already looking forward to this being an annual event.

Right. People get that now. But that doesn't help the people who bought electrical but didn't realize they ALSO needed an RV pass which are now SOLD OUT!!! (which it boggles my mind why you wouldn't combine them in the first place, would make things ALOT easier and you wouldn't have folks with electricity and no place to put their rig) And even worse that the people SELLING THE TICKETS don't even understand how it works so how can you expect the buyer to. Just sounds shady to me. I guess I should count myself lucky that I only got screwed out of $50 this year cuz those a$$holes MADE ME PURCHASE 2 camping tickets with ONE GA ticket. F-ers.

If in fact this is going to be an annual event for years to come, is it too early to ask that they combine the RV/electrical passes and make them one price? That would kill any confusion and hard feelings.
