Based on last year, when is it suggested we arrive?

If we don't pull in on Wednesday, what hell will we have to go through on Thursday or Friday morning?

Who knows- hopefully since this is the 2nd time they will be a wee bit better organized.

If each RV gets 1000 sq. ft they should Chalk Line that size area- I'm bringing a tape measure and I will stake out my area- Heck I paid enough for it:D

Well, I guess there will be plenty to do. The earlier the better it seems.

I would hope since we paid extra to have a spot with the 30amp electrical that if we arrive on Thursday, our "spot" will still be open

Aclady, I was thinking the same thing since my husband and I are still going to arrive on Friday evening even though camping is now open on Wednesday. This will be our first time camping there, so we're excited :D

Heck, just bring your tent on over to the RV campground and pop-it up in someones RV spot. We had several in ours last year and we didn't even know them.... HA we knew them by the end of the weekend. Some marines were not getting along with their other tent campers neighbors, so they got in fight with them and were moving out with their tents and asked if they could camp in our RV spot, so we said what the heck you can try it. All they can do is make you move back.... They left them alone. Who knows what will happen this year.

it was a mess last year. we were one of the first RV's there in line and they shuffled us all the way to the far end of the campground, furthest away from the festival entrance. everyone was pissed off beyond belief, so actually the people that got there Friday morning got better RV spots than the people who'd been camped out the night before to be 1st in line.

Kymery

Yeah, they gotta put you to the furthest end when you show up...think about it, if they put you right there, up front, it would be a mad house parking from there on.

It is like D-land, one rig after another into the very next spot. It is a luck of the draw.

We showed up early and we were about 5 rows from the Polo bar. and 50 rows from the entrance

ha ha.. 2 determined women....i'm sure we can overpower..or sweet talk the parking attendants into letting us park where we want....a beer should do the trick. no really....we have to think about this....sure don't want to be on the far end...esp if we are getting there on wed....i know my guys will want to set up then leave, they have to go to work early thursday morning..hopefully the early arrivers will be parked from the other side this year..ie closer to the entrance, then work out from there..

I remember when my sons raced their quads, we would camp and have to wake up early for the practice heats, and Glen Helen Raceway would wake us up to "good morning america how are you"...that was so awesome to hear Willie at the crack of dawn.

I just hope we dont hear those gospel people again this year, but I guess I dont care cuz I wont be camped near the polo bar again...have fun guys!! your gonna love that a 6am!! Hallealuuuya (ok I love God, but here is a time and place)

Where would the best place be to pitch a tent in the Forum? Any clues?

Anywhere. I dont think ou will have a choice. It is not where it was last year, last year it was right next to the Polo Bar, now it is across the dirt road and down about 200 yards.

RV PARKINK INFO
FROM ADMINSITRATOR
Hey Hot Rod.. I don't remember it saying anywhere that you could pick spots last year, but sorry for the confusion. I asked around here what the plan was for 2008 and was told they would let early bird campers (starting when camping opens in the morning) pick their own spots (in each of the campgrounds) up until about 5pm on Thursday. After that it will have to be assigned spots as people arrive to maintain organization and order.

In El Dorado 1, The closest spots are reserved for handicap so you cant just park there unless you have the legal placard. The spots for people who purchased electrical hook ups are the next ones. Then the rest after.

Hope this helps.

Last year we saved a spot for our friends. we took their tix and camping passes and rv passes and we took caution tape and we just told the person ushering us in, that we were told that we could save spots so when he tried to put us in a spot we parked our truck in the next spot. we had 2 toyhaulers with and one coming in the next morning. we left the spot in between us empty and put all out chairs and stuff in it to make it look full. we also caution tape all around our two haulers that were there. The other party came in in Friday and we actually moved all the rigs around and made a horseshoe. we put the smallest rig across the back of all 3 spots and then the 2 larger ones parked as far to the sides of the other 2 spots. It worked well and we even had 2-3 tents in the middle of us. One of the security guys was partying with us so no one ever said a word. Worth a try. makes a great camp. might be able to get some of the forum tent campers over with you this way.
