i'll see you all at the show in San Bernadino! i just won tickets through Go Country 105 this past Saturday. Definitely won't get up there in time for any pre-show MB meet up though because i live/work about 2 hours away and will most likely make it there right at show time (IF they really do start at 7 pm and don't run late). I'm gonna be begging the traffic gods to smile down on me on Friday when i'm off work at 5. Brantley Gilbert opening is pretty much the only reason i am going (but don't get me wrong, i do love Toby!!)

So how did everyone like the show?? It was our first full Toby concert and he put on a great show. My mom and I left Chino Hills at 4:30 and made it to the venue about 5:45pm. It was pretty darn hot (104 at 6pm!) so we "tailgated" in the car with the air on :) The venue is a bit of a pain to get in and out of so you have to give yourselves plenty of time.

well i thought we'd make it there by 7.....due to traffic, we got there at 7:30. I was SOOOOO upset that we were late because i (thought i) would miss Brantley Gilbert and i could hear someone in there singing while we were walking from my car up to the entrance. So anyway, i got there and staked out spots on the lawn while my friend went to get us drinks. I started talking to the lady next to me and asked her if Brantley had been any good. She told me "he hasn't gone on yet". HALLELUJAH!!!

and honestly??? we enjoyed Brantley more than we did Toby.......and we can't quite figure out why that was. Maybe it was because we had both seen Toby several times before this so we weren't quite as "amped up" about Toby as we were about Brantley (whom neither of us had seen live before). Or maybe because we were packed in like sardines on the lawn in about 100 degree weather at 9 pm. Or maybe because (to us) Toby seemed a little "off his game" that night. But we still had a great time and hey, we can't complain, our tickets were free.....

we crashed after the show at a motel 6 about 20 minutes away in San Bernadino. We thought it'd be safer that way because it was a 2 hour drive back home and neither of us wanted to be out on the road at that hour with people who may/may not have been drinking from too many "red solo cups" at the show! Plus, we could, more or less, get a full night's sleep. When we woke up this morning at 8 am, it was already 85 degrees out and supposed to get up to 110 degrees (this according to our cell phones)!!! we took that as a sign that we needed to pack up, check out, get brunch and head home ASAP!!!!

We did love the Ted Nugent cover Toby had in his show, though!! I don't know the name of it, but he's always done that song in any Toby concert I've ever been to.....

^^^^ Toby Keith covers Ted Nugent's Stranglehold. (GPS - hopefully the apostrophe is used correctly)

Enjoyed Thomas Rhett and Brantley Gilbert more than Toby as well - seen Toby 3 times already. Same stuff every time, pretty much.
Brantley did You Don't Know Her, Country Must Be Countrywide, Kick it in the Sticks, My Kind of Crazy, and Take it Outside.
He intro'd You Don't know her by saying that the girl he wrote the song about was a crazy Ex GF. All of his friends were right about her, she turned out to be nutso!!! ha ha, got a kick out of that story.

i later read that Toby had had his gallbladder removed about 2 weeks prior to the San Bernadino show.....so maybe that was why he seemed a bit "off"?? most likely still in post-surgery pain (idk, i still have my gallbladder so i can't say anything about the surgery or what the post-op is like)??

I had my gallbladder removed and I was in bed for a few days after. However, that was when they were still cutting you open. Nowadays they do everything through the belly button. So, who knows?

He seemed to be in good spirits and was all over the stage. I was afraid he would still be recovering but I didn't notice him acting like he was in pain. Both opening acts were really good and I think Thomas Rhett could be pretty big in a few years.

Here's my photo album from the show... http://kellysconcertpictures.shutterfly.com/3503
