View Full Version : Coachella 2013 on sale next week!!! Maybe Stagecoach Soon?
:confused:INDIO (CBS) — The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will again be held over two consecutive weekends next year, organizers announced Monday.
Passes will go on sale Thursday through May 24.
Advance passes will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday for the festival, which is scheduled for April 12-14 and April 19-21, 2013, according to organizer Goldenvoice.
“The price you see is what you pay — prices reflect all fees included,” according to a statement on Coachella’s Facebook page.
The rest of the passes will go on sale early next year, organizers said.
The festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio was held over two weekends for the first time this year, and sold out quickly.

Wow, 11 months early. With the layaway plan and 7 payments it makes the high cost pretty bearable. Did some quick figures, GA Pass $349 + Car Camping $85 + Companion Parking $30 = $53/monthly payments for 7 months. Good thinking, it'll create a buzz all year too. Wonder if they'll do that for Stagecoach?
The only concern is that a year is a long time to trust someone like FrontGate with your money, what if they go out of business or something crazy before then? Their handling of the tickets for 2012 was pretty poor. Maybe this will spread out the rush enough to make it manageable?

I think 11 months is WAAAAY too early. A lot of their audience (AND Stagecoach) have to budget and plan for the festival weekend. With people only a few weeks out of possible spending debts from their Coachella weekend, it sucks to have to shell out more $ for something that's a year away! And I don't think they neeed to create a buzz, they've sold out TWO weekends in record time. Did I hear you right, they're in fact using Frontgate again? I hope that company had a huge Lessons Learned meeting. Their silence about their screw-ups this year makes me think not...

no one is forced to buy presale, though. that's why they have the payment plan, so it is a lot easier on the wallet. this is for the people who have no doubt they are going and coming up with under $100 up front is hardly a ton of money...and if you don't have it you can take your chances next january.

I wish they did this for stagecoach. Ive already got plans for next year.
Heck... I would even buy a timeshare in ED1 if they sold them! Five days a year for the next 50 years, as long as they have a festival... Anything to not deal with the ticket frenzy again!
Just think about it
Coachella has such a reputation that they can just about sell out a 85k person per day festival for 3 days and two SEPERATE weekends BEFORE they announce the artists.
Stagecoach may not be far behind.

haha! I would definitely buy a time share if they offered it - trying to get a spot was so stressful in that "waiting room" back in November.

I'm already developing a strategy for that: Taking the day off, borrowing as many laptops I can get my hands on, and using them all to simultaneously log into the dreaded Waiting Room.

Luckily for me, I work in IT and have multiple laptops around AND I handle the telephones as well, so I have like 3 phones around me most of the time. It was so funny last year because I'd hit redial one at a time in a row on all 3 phones, then I would spin in my chair to start all over again from the first one. I looked like a freak! :D I could've gotten dizzy and missed my chance all together.

Think about how much worse it will be this year because everyone will be doing the same thing! Not only will I have as many computers as i get my hands on, I will aslo be networking with all my friends to get on thier computers too and first one in gives me a call. I bet there will be at least 5 times as many "computers" trying to get in at the first few minutes than last year. I really hope they change something. Pre-sale right now would be a great idea!

I wish they did it like NASCAR races. Let people buy their same tickets from the previous year, or upgrade if available, before the rest of the tickets go to public sale.

LOL.... as long as I get my tickets ;)
I just bought Coachella Week #2 with car camping. Needless to say, the Front Gate process was MUCH better than last year's SC2012. Don't know if there was a waiting room cuz it felt like Ticketmaster's system where you get updates every minute (e.g., "there's many people ahead of you", "you're almost there", etc.). Too bad it wasn't exactly like TM, where you get an estimated wait time, but at least it was an improvement! :D

I used the desktop at work. Logged in at 11:05 am (completely forgot about the 10 am sale). Tried to get Week #1, and while I was in standby a red banner message came on my screen that said something to the effect of "You are currently waiting in line for Week #1 tickets, but tickets are selling fast and odds are you may not get any. Would you like to try for Week #2?" On the bottom was a list of available sections and camping options and it would refresh every minute. After 15 minutes I saw that some camping options were sold out, so I tried Week #2 around 11:20. Another red banner showed up that said "You're waiting for Week #2. It looks like you have a good chance of getting tickets. Do not log off." 30 minutes later I got the tickets I wanted. Like I said, the FrontGate experience was WAAAAY better than SC2012.

So you waited for just about an hour to purchase WOW. Does it seem like it's still a lottery or first come first serve?

I waited less than an hour DESPITE logging in over hour late... AND I still got what I wanted (albeit week #2, not #1).
I have a good feeling it was 1st-come, first-served. Like I said, I can't really say for sure. The red banner updates were helpful. Not as good as Ticketmaster's "Your estimated wait time is ___ minutes", but good enough.
Hopefully our SC2013 ticket experience (whenever that happens) is better than last years

I was saying this before... For SC2012 I signed on to Front gate about 30 mins AFTER tickets started going on sale (after seeing people complain on FB about how long it was taking) I was on and off in under 10 minutes and got my tickets without a problem (no camping though) It is NOT first come, first served. I think its just luck of the draw.

I always get there on thurdays . . . but its a set up get everything settled day. Then I liked Friday as a nothing to do but hang out, party, relax and meet new people in the camping areas - kind of a day.
Maybe I would like friday better if the gates opened later since the preformers start later in the day . . . . I wasnt a fan of gates opening three hours before the preformers started. Because I do go in when the gates open to get a spot.
So my preference would be to go back to two days and leave the friday as a social day. Since once you are in the festival people arent as laid back and social as they are in the camping areas. People keep more to themselevs and with their group at the actual concert part.

Hey guys,
Me and my friend are looking at going to Coachella next year. We’d be looking at booking one of the VIP Travel Packages.
Has anyone ever booked this before?
Is so… can you offer any advice?!
From what I’ve seen online, how it works when booking on a payment plan is you pay 20% down payment when booking, another 30% in August, 20% in Oct and then 30% in Jan.
Heres my issue… we wont be in a position to book until August… so does anyone know if that will be still possible?!
Anyone who’s gone to Coachella with a travel package – share your wisedom with me ;0)

Remember that this is a business enterprise that needs to make a profit. SC is not making any money with people sitting around the campgrounds drinking and eating the food they personally brought in. They need to make the most money possible and that's getting people into the festival where they can sell you water, drinks, food plus all the extras you might purchase.

This year we are going to be COMFORTABLE at Coachella! Last year was a little miserable having to crawl in and out of our pup tent never being able to stand and stretch out. This year we have scored a Standing Room Tent I found on Amazon! Not only do you not have to crawl in and out but its got a 8 foot ceiling! We can put a queen size air mattress two chairs and a table and still have room to move around. The best part is it only takes about 5 min. to put up! 2889
