We were thinking about just bringing blankets to sit on during the concerts at the festival because we didn't want to carry chairs around all day. However, will most people be bringing chairs? Reason I'm asking is if we're sitting on the ground on blankets we won't be able to see if everyone else is in chairs lol me and my husband are first timers and want to make sure we're set up for success! I think I read somewhere people bring chairs and ask random people to keep an eye on them, is this the norm? Thanks!

I certainly am not an expert on SC , but in our last 4 years experience, our well placed chairs on a blanket that I my husband chased in with when the gates were opened, were there to hold our beers or water bottles instead of our backsides. Everyone stood up in front of us during the whole concert , :D consequently so did we.... You get to enjoy the energy AND the music that way.

There isn't really much to see stage wise if you are in GA...find a spot near one of video screens...that's about as much as you will see. As far as chairs...park them and walk around. That's what we have always done (this is my 4th). There is no need to carry them around with you all day. Besides, move your blanket or chair and you will lose your spot anyway.

Chairs are great for taking a break...and they hold a beer real nice when you got your arms wrapped around your girl (or guy I guess) A blanket works if it cools off (and it has in years past) ....bring both!

I was going to pick up a cable and lock to lock my chairs up after we set them up and leave but I'm wondering if I need to do that. Last year our friends did that for theirs. I didn't have any. Does anyone think its necessary? I mean will people come in and move your spot?

Bring both, find a good spot and spread out way wider than you need right when you get there because your spot will 'shrink' later in the evening. Make friends with the biggest nearby group and ask them to keep an eye on your spot and leave the chairs. Worked for me in the past.

Okay cool, thanks for the info! We'll probably bring some chairs when we get there, stage them and carry on with our day. Also I read there will be lockers, how big are they and how close are they to where the concert is? We might stick our blankets in there for later in the evening when it gets chilly.

Definitely find a group of people to join cuz there's always places to wander and you want to leave your stuff with people. You're welcome to join us! We're always looking for new country music fans. There's only four of us this year; me and my husband and another couple. We like to drink, sing along and dance. Let me know!

Thanks Tiffany! One thing I've noticed is it seems like most people are friendly and carefree at country music concerts so I'm really looking forward to meeting new people who share the same interests as we do!:p

the lockers are a GREAT idea to leave your chairs and blankets overnight. we stay at a hotel and shuttle there so last year we just left our stuff in the lockers overnight so we wouldn't have to carry them the next day. it was well worth it. especially this year with 3 days. they are located at the entrance.
