Electrical Hookup Clarification

Howdy Ya'll! Looking forward to this years Stagecoach and especially the real party - camping! But anyway, I have a question regarding the electrical hookups...

Is the $150/electrical hookup ticket in addition to the RV pass or is it instead of the RV pass? I guess I want to know if I'll be paying $150 or $250 to have an RV (with electricity)?

Also, seeing as this will be my first time camping in (and driving) an RV, is a 30 Amp electrical hookup pretty standard? Or will I need any additional connectors from the RV rental place? Also, will 30 Amps run the AC, TV, Electrical, etc on my RV or will we need to limit what we use?

Types of tickets available for EL DORADO 1:
Camping Ticket (per person) $50 <-- every person camping needs one
Per RV (1 steering wheel) $100 <--- you need one for RV
30 amp Electrical Hook Up $150 <--- you need one for electricity

Last year we paid for the 2 of us:
Per person- $50
RV - $100
No electrical
Total = $200.00
If we want electricity this year it would be:
Per person - $50
RV - $100
Elec. 150.00
Total = $350.00 ????????????
or, as it looks
Total = 250.00

Thanks for asking Rodger and thanks for clarifying Countrygurl! I was thinking (and hoping) along the same lines as Rodger.

When tickets go on sale, I hope that you can buy the RV pass and the electrical hookups in the same package or I have a feeling there will be a lot of people with an electrical hookup and no RV pass (or vice-versa) because everything will sell out quickly. Better be quick on the keyboard!

We plan on getting there early and making a whole weekend out of it.. 4 days! We're camping (hopefully in El Dorado 1) and the total combined for the 4 days worked out less than any rate I could find at the closest hotels (that were decent).

We had so much fun last year camping - YA'LL will love it. We met the the party people and we were right by the entrance AND you can go back out to your spot during the show (we only did once though, we got distracted inside - will that bull riding thing be back?) but it was great to walk to our "home" for the weekend after with no traffic.

Since last year we've added 3 more campsites and amped up the amenities. (please do read the updated onsite camping page, scroll down to read about everything). We've also extended the days/hours for onsite camping. There is nothing called vip combo this year however El Dorado 1 with electrical would surpass that. Much improvement this year.

I'm not sure about the bull, I assume it will be back. Tons of people enjoyed it before. :)

I've checked out a bunch of hotels in the area and I think camping is a better deal (pricewise). Plus, when I camped last year, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and made some new friends who we will be camping with this year!

depends ot what type of RV you rent- some are 30amp and some are 50amp.

Ask the rental place- if it's 50a then they will most likely have a 30A to 50A adapter. I would imagine they keep all of the adapters in the storage area but better safe than sorry.

Also while at the rental place just tell them to set the refer on propane so you won't have to worry about how much power it will draw. Don't worry you won't run out. They will run for a long time on Propane.

You may run into problems running the AC and then trying to cook something in the Micro- but really you should be fine as the power provided by the Stagecoach is really clean and plenty of it.

( sometimes at campgrounds the voltage will be low since they try to run so many outlets and if the CG is full and everyone cranks on the AC at the same time then there are problems.)

Tell me something. My trailer has a battery adpt. Last year and many times at the river, my 2 batteries run my air, lights & radio for 3 days. My tanks hold enough to not need water & can also last 3 days. My trailer is pretty old-- don't the newer trailers also have the battery options? Why would one spend $150 for electricity when they can spend $45 on a battery & have it after Stagecoach? I'm just curious what I'm missing by not having electricity. ?!?!

We got our camping stuff yesterday at the presale. We paid $100 for the RV, $150 for the electrical hookup and $50 per person to camp. We feel it's worth the money as last year we camped, however we didn't have the electrical hook ups and the generator went out on the RV :( This year, we are set. Look out Stagecoach...Here WE come!!!!

I would need to know the make and model of your Trailer and AC unit as most AC units draw a lot of power and run on 120v Shore power or need an appropriate powered Generator mounted in the Trailer/RV or one that sits outside. For an Air Conditioner to run off a battery you would also need an Inverter to change the 12v DC Battery power to 120v ac power.

If your set up works you ain't missin' anything:)

It is possible that who ever owned the Trailer before you added all of the needed equipment to make your AC unit run off the batteries.

I was just going by what I did last year, RV only one price, RV and electrical another price.
This year I've got electrical but NO RV site--Gotta go now so that I can still try and get a site.

el dorado 1 is closest to the entrance and is the only area with electrical hook ups so yes, they are close. first is handicap parking, then electrical.

I would need to know the make and model of your Trailer and AC unit as most AC units draw a lot of power and run on 120v Shore power or need an appropriate powered Generator mounted in the Trailer/RV or one that sits outside. For an Air Conditioner to run off a battery you would also need an Inverter to change the 12v DC Battery power to 120v ac power.

If your set up works you ain't missin' anything:)

30amp is norm and runs everything. I have blown a couple fuses using my electric pancake platter. But we run everything on it.

The $150 I thought was your RV pass with the elect hook up, then you pay the $50 per person.

No water or sewer, you are camping on a Polo Field and temp power is being brought in. There will be water truck and dump trucks for your sewer if you want to pay for their services
