View Full Version : Picking up wristbands for Companion Passes?

Hi all!
This is my first year buying a companion parking pass and I was wondering how the companion pass works for going in and out from the festival to the campground. Do we get wristbands that allow us to do this? How does it work? My sister and I are trying to find out any information and the website has not posted anything about it.
Please let me know if you have any information! Thanks!

Your question is a little confusing. You get a Companion Parking Pass (actually a static sticker for the car window) to park your car at the Polo Fields (where the camping AND venue are). You also have your General Admission (GA) wristbands to actually get into the venue. If you have a wristband then you can go freely between camping and the venue. Your car, however, will not be able to leave and come back. They seem to be heavily restricting vehicle traffic this year and the rules indicate No In-and-outs... the consensus is that this will only apply to cars attempting to leave the Polo Fields. Once you're out, you're done.

why is there so much misinformation being spread? do people not read the main site where much of this is gone over? it is there for a reason.
"Overnight RV/Car Companion Vehicle Parking Pass $30 (+ applicable charges) – This pass is for anyone who is arriving separately than the RVs/Car camping spot they are sleeping in and will allow for a safe secure overnight parking spot. This lot will be 100% locked down with no chance of entering or exiting between 9pm - 1am, Friday - Sunday nights. You can enter until 2am on Thursday. With your RVs/Car Companion Vehicle Parking Pass you will be free to drive in and out of this lot at all other times. If you do not return before the lock down times you will be directed to general day parking and will have to move your car after 1am. Remember, no vehicles are allowed in/out of the RV campgrounds. NO EXCEPTIONS. You can only purchase this parking pass in the same order with a festival pass. These overnight vehicle parking passes are not sold alone. This is not a camping lot, it is only for overnight vehicle parking. This means YOU can not camp in this lot. Limit one per order."

I understand all of that information. I was just told that you are NOT allowed to enter the campground if you are NOT camping. So I'm curious is to how they differentiate who is camping and who is not. Do they gave out wristbands to these people?
Or maybe my information is just completely wrong, and any person attending the festival is allowed into the campground?

Anyone with a Stagecoach wristband can enter any campground by walking.

like what he said. the stagecoach website has posted it pretty clear. companion parking is free to go in and out. it may be a pain with traffic and all but it is allowed. i think people are getting confused cuz it also says no ins & outs. but this is talking about the venue. companion parking is free to leave and come back.

If you have a wristband you can wander about wherever you like.

Ok. I have read all of the above and this will be my 4th year and I'm still confused. If this is a stupid question, I'm sorry.
In past years you could not go in and out of the CONCERT unless you had a CAMPING WRISTBAND. You could still freely go through the campsites, but no ins and outs of the concert. So, are there CAMPING wristbands AND GA CONCERT wristbands again?

no. there are only wristbands for the venue.GA/Reserved seating. No camping wrist bands. they say no ins & outs of the venue except for camping. not sure how they will enforce this but thats what it says. so count on only being able to go in and out between venue and camping.

NO. there are ONLY GA Concert wristbands. With those you have in and out privileges and can go to any campground.

correct. no one really knows so will find out when we are there. JUST GUESSING but maybe they have different entrance and exit to camping area. not sure though
Waht do you mean?!?!? There is one entrance and one exit. Always has been. The wristband rule is THE SAME AS IT WAS LAST YEAR.
ANYONE WITH A FESTIVAL PASS CAN GO ANYWHERE ON THE CAMPGROUNDS AND HAS IN AND OUT PRIVLEGES.
I really really don't know how to clarify any better than that! *facepalm*

people arent understanding. they are asking how are they going to know if someone is camping or not. thats it. without a camping wrist band this year people are wondering how they will know. they are confused about in and outs between camping and venue if they are not camping. simply saying will find out more when we get there. simply said dont plan on going in and out unless your just going in and out between camping.

They don't know. Why do they need to know whether or not you're camping, unless it's to come in and get your spot, which in that case you'll have the decal on your car. It's been answered a million times. You can go in and out of the venue. They don't care WHERE you go, you just CAN go. You cannot drive in and out of DAY parking. You CAN drive in and out of companion parking during the listed hours. Whether you get stuck out forever because of traffic just depends. If you want to leave the venue, take a shuttle to a store and come back, you CAN.
Your answers are kind of confusing. If you're not sure, let those who are sure answer. It's gonna work like it did last year. That has not changed.

ya if you go back and read what i have put it has said the exact same thing. companion parking can go in and out. traffic will be hell but it can be done. and you can walk between venue and camping but you can not leave DAY parking and come back. thats what i have said in couple diff post. it really isnt that hard.the person was asking how they will know if your going to camping or trying to leave day parking. and thats what i said we will have to find out when we get there. no that hard to understand

Last year and the year before, you could ONLY leave the concert if you had the camping wristband. Once you were in that was it. That is where the confusion is.
I guess this year it is a free for all, ins and outs for everyone, just can't move the car.
If we are missing something, we will find out when we get there.

exactly this year there are no camping wrist bands. but anyone with a concert wrist band can go in and out of every campsite. and if you have a companion car parking pass you can leave and come back as long as it within the hours posted. traffic will be horrible but it can be done.

Last year there were no camping wristbands. It was a hot topic when they announced it and I am 100% positive of this. It worked out just fine last year (but people did panic beforehand about the new rule because they were worried about their stuff at the campgrounds).

where did you camp last year? cuz last year they diffidently had yellow wrist bands for people in eld 2. and we had friends that walked in just fine without one and friends that were not allowed to come in without them. so they did have wrist bands at least for eld 2 they did

You did not need wristbands last year to get around the campgrounds. I promise. I was in tent camping but spent 3 nights sleeping in EDII and roamed around EDI. Can anyone else back me up? I remember how huge of an issue it was that anyone with a GA ticket could roam the campgrounds (before the festival, on this board). Everyone was really worried about it. It turned out ok, and all of our friends (Festival Fan, etc) who were in surrounding motels came to see us just fine.

Those were the GA wristbands! But you still HAD to have your tickets on you to get in and out of the festival. That was an issue too as a lot of people lost their tickets and security wouldn't accept just the wristbands.

YES upon arrival to campgrounds. people that stayed off grounds never got a wrist band because they were camping wrist bands. if they were GA wristbands even people that stayed in motels or off the grounds would have gotten them but they didnt. They were not really enforcing the wrist bands in camping areas to much and yes i do agree alot of people were allowed to roam camping area's but once in a while they did stop people.
If they were GA wristbands they would not say eld 2 on them

Proof that you're crazy. I have a yellow wristband on here. I did NOT check into or camp in EDII. I checked into tent camping and got my wristband there. They do not say EDII (CLEARLY on my wristband) they say Stagecoach.

yes i maybe wrong as 2 what it said on it. but it was not a GA wristband otherwise everyone would of had them. and only people camping had them. those where camping wristbands. they did not really enforce it at all. think they were used more for security to be able to tell who was camping. but they pretty much let everyone go into camping

Ahhh, you're so right. It's just frustrating because I am pretty well versed on Stagecoach and also I really like to be right if I know I'm right. LOL, Nick's the same exact way, so I've learned when to pick my battles. With him. Haha, gotta learn to transfer that to messageboards apparently!

I am gonna chime in. I was not in any camping last year and I was staying in a hotel. I remember the first day of entering the venue, as a GA ticket holder, they ran out of wristbands as I got up to the front of the line and told us to keep our ticketmaster tickets so we could enter the next day. I remember thinking 'great I need to not lose these then.'

This is just what was needed, someone's experience who didn't camp last year. As a tent camper last year we were given the wrist band as we entered camping so I assumed it was for that. Personally I had no idea they were passing them out to people at the gates who were staying off site or commuting. All makes sense now :)
That "discussion" was exhausting! I'm ready for beer.
