This is my 4th year, and have always camped on site, this year minus our best efforts at the time of ticket sale open we were not able to get a spot.

So were camping off site, and have secured a driver for the weekend, as this is my first time staying off site, the web site faq section says that the taxi drop off point is at NE corner of madison and 52nd??!?!?!?! The the Absolute furthest away it could POSSIBLY be, lugging chairs and kids and tired people all that way is going to be a nightmare.

Does anyone have any insight or tips on where we could get dropped off at, besides the back fence!

not sure why you would think there would be anywhere else. there will be security/police keeping traffic moving and many of the streets are closed to pedestrian traffic, there will be large fences around the perimeter to keep everything kosher. does your driver have a festival pass? if not they may not be allowed anywhere near the venue.

Well we were told we have to go to the taxi drop off point. thus negating the fact that they will need a festival pass. But its the FURTHEST point possible from the show, so one would think that there should be a easier spot to drop off and quickly exit a vehicle.. LIke the corner of ave 51

Be aware that the Indio police are EVERYWHERE directing traffic and they don't mess around.

pretty sure those pedestrian signs with the red circle and slash are on the map for a reason at that corner.

are you arriving in a taxi? if not and someone in a regular car is driving you it may be an issue...

"Entrance to Festival

Everyone in your vehicle must have a wristband properly applied on their RIGHT wrist prior to arriving in Indio. You will not be allowed within one mile of the perimeter of the venue without your wristband properly applied on your wrist.

Police check points will vary from one quarter mile to one mile outside of the festival perimeter. Please have your wristbands properly applied on your wrist prior to your departure to the festival.

You cannot pass through the police vehicle checkpoints without your wristband properly applied on your wrist."

If you are one or two miles away, hold up a sign saying "STAGECOACH, I HAVE MY OWN PASS, NEED RIDE". Someone will give you a ride. Stagecoach people are like that.
