I am SOOO EXCITED about 2008 Stagecoach. I went to last years and had an AMAZING time. All I know is, I have seen Dierks Bentley, Tim Mcgraw and Gretchen Wilson before and all three concerts were GREAT!!! It is so worth paying a few hundred bucks and seeing so many talented artist. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

WOW!!! I can't wait. I've seen Tim, Taylor, both amazing!!! Dierks will be good as well as Gretchen.... Everyone will I can't wait. Did anyone RV last year? Looking for some tips on RV-ing this year?

make sure and check out the onsite camping page. 2008 is much improved, pictures are on that page and in the photo gallery. last year was just the beginning.

Are you kidding me???? What a MAJOR disappointment!!!! NO George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, or Chesney??? My hopes of Stagecoach this year fall on Rascal Flats and Tim McGraw and the rest of the lackluster line up. I guess I won't be in a hurry to buy VIP tickets like I had last year. Last year I was conflicted as to who I wanted to see and this year I have to settle for someone. I think Golden Voice could've done a little better especially if last year was so successful. Should I pin my hopes on Golden Voice adding someone better or stick to the concerts at Coors in San Diego.... -A disgruntled Incahooter

I've got to say......after last year, it's kind of disappointing.......especially Rascal Flatts.....I don't think that they belong in a country music festival.....the Festival seems to be leaving mainstream country this year and going quite "pop". Just my opinion, though......will we go again, not quite sure....didn't get the "gee, we've got to go". Would like to see Big & Rich, but not sure to the tune of a $1,000+ weekend, counting hotel, VIP seats, etc.
The jury's still out on this one.

I should add, though, that Dwight Yoakam is a great person to have at Stagecoach.....I guess that RF is the most disappointing act on the lineup.....how about Brad Paisley or the like instead. Oh well, maybe we'll just make it an early night on Saturday or see who's headlining the other stages.

Unbelievable!!!!!!! I was blown away by all the great acts last year, and was equally excited to see this year's lineup. One of the great things about Stagecoach is the variety of music/musicians. There's definately something for everyone and it gives us a chance to hear something different too.
Favorites for this year?????? Hard to choose, but Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson and Trace Adkins are certainly 3 that I don't want to miss.

There are several ways to look at this line up. While it is disappointing to see the line up leaning towards “POP” or Rock and Roll, it does mean that some of the other venues won’t be as crowded. While the hordes of people, brainwashed by Nashville’s money obsessed music moguls, clamber towards bands like Rascal Flatts, you can get closer to the stages with artists playing actual country music. Artists like Rascal Flatts and last years Kenney Chesney are very talented musicians in their own right and they appeal to a broad range of people but they shouldn’t be in venues that advertise country music. If you don’t agree with me that is fine. See the part about “brainwashed”.

I've got to agree I would love to see Alan Jackson and George Strait and don't forget Brooks & Dunn, but this line-up is just as amazing. For the major headliners I've seen about 90% of them perform at least once already. I'm excited.....can't wait till next week to buy our tickets!

All of you people who want to criticize the line up and bash what is considered "country" music should all just get together and dust off the 45's and sit around while the rest of us enjoy the company of thousands of people who are there for a good time. The acts can't be the same every year or you will never attract new people to come to the festival. The acts are all great and all have their own uniqueness so if you have any problems with these artists, I have a good idea, "Don't listen to them!" By the way getting all the artists from last year also has to fit into there already difficult schedules. Just because stagecoach calls Kenny and whould like him to join the festival, his schedule just doesn't allow it, he isn't going to change another concert to come here, just because he was here last year. I'm sorry this going on and on but I am just tired of the haters out there who just like to complain. If they were ever at a WE Fest in MN or any festival like last years, they would relize how much of a blast it is no matter who is on stage! Looking forward to partying all weekend again this year!

Everyone has to remember that this is only the first announcement. I remember last year many of the bigger names (Kenny and Alan) weren't added to a couple months after the original announcement.

Actually they were on the line up from day one.
I LOVE this lineup!! I know it's hard to top last year. I think we feel loyal to those acts as long-time fans and some we fell in love with BECAUSE of Stagecoach. In a perfect world we'd have them ALL... but it's just not possible. Given the factors of "can't have the exact same show as last year" and artists' schedules (like someone commented about) I think we lucked out with the names on this ticket!! I'll be there with bells on! :)

My opinion: anyone that thinks that they can get a better deal, seeing all of these diverse acts in one setting, one partyin weekend, great people, GOOD LUCK,
We are returning this year and I tell ya'all... there is nothing better on this coast! that is foresure. Great music, great people, great weather, and
lots of great lookin cowboys!

is there a chance they will be adding other acts as we get closer to the date? or, is the event pretty much fixed? reason i ask is, seems like kid rock would fit into this event rather well (gretchen, big&rich, etc) . . . just sayin'
thanks in advance for the thoughts.

I just saw the line-up for this year and was not excited, last year we got a real fast TAX refund and I joined Kennys fan club to get a early jump on the VIP tickets, I left work early to get online I was sweating just sitting here waiting till NOON for them to go on-sale, I was so into last years line up I thought the waiting was going to KILL me. OK now I am just sitting here.... I am not calling my hubby telling him WE HAVE TO GO TO THIS!!! I am not sweating, My blood pressure is fine. I am sorry but I think WE might sit this one out.

Where are the OUTLAWS? Last year most of my time was spent on the smaller stages and it looks like it will be the same this year. Country music is so divercified these days and to put on a "festival" you should have a little of everything. I guess with all the bubble gum acts this year they had to tone it down to make it more of a family atmosphere. Too Bad!!! Lets hope when they add more acts that they "rowdy it up " so me and Gretchen have someone to party with .

If I remember correctly, last year they tended to put the most popular artists (the ones who are most well-known and sell the most albums) on the main stage, with lesser-known but equally talented artists on the smaller stages.
It's a system which worked out pretty well, really, especially since people really tended to camp out at the main (Mane) stage and that meant that you could get really close at any stage that wasn't the main stage.
Stagecoach 2007's best-kept secret: the best music isn't always on the Mane Stage.

hey there people. i usually am over on the coachella message board but i figured id come over say hello and talk about the lineup.
the lineup loos pretty solid and diverse. you got you mainstream headline acts. plus you got some legends on there plus some good live acts like gretchen and big and rich etc. it should be a good time. now im not big into country but love live music so can some of you give me some songs i should get by the artists on the bill plus any suggestions on who to see?

I personally am stoked about the line up, being that I live 10 minutes away you can bet your honky tonky butts i'll be there... good music, good people, good memories, cant beat that. For those of you that disapprove of the line-up I m sorry, living on the west coast you hardly ever get to experience the country way of life. Even if i didn't approve of the line-up i would go simply because you will never find a bigger group of fun people to share your interest in great music.
See y'all there

Unfortunately for us we didn't see Ricky... not sure why now looking back.

Honestly, last year I had such a fun time in the campgrounds and the line up was awesome. Im just not looking forward to all the yuppies there to see rascal flatts. Tim Mcgraw is an awesome artist, but again, not looking forward to the yuppies that only know his songs in the last year. Im a huge fan of Gretchen, Dierks, Dwight, Earl, Jack Ingram, and George Jones. Ill be in the campground again.... GET IN THE TRUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKK

I was there from sun up Friday to roll out Monday morning.. I think the camping experience w/ the concerts sprinkled in between made the weekend! Don't get me wrong, the concerts were great.. it was just a blast to have so many country music lovers all in one location for a whole weekend! I can't imagine not camping for 08' ~!

I have seen Rascal Flatts in San Diego and like Tim and some others, but to start a festival with the line up of the likes of Kenny Chesney, George Srtait, Brooks and Dunn, Gary Allan, Sugerland etc.... Makes this years seem really less of a powerfull line up! I was excited as hell last year, not sure i am willing to spend that kind of money for 2 shows when I can wait and see Kenny and gang when they tour! Very dissapointed.

Sounds like alot of people will be sitting this one out, they better re think the line up and bring in some bigger performers. Brad paisly, Jason Aldean, Jason Michael Caroll, Keith urban. Not to offend anyone, but The Judds????? Come on!!!! That is like bringing Dolly Parton and Mel Tillis. Great in their times but not as big as the people last year. Again this is only one opinion. I respect everyones views. I am not about to spend good money on this, very disapointed to say the least.

wow. I read a few message boards here and there but I have yet to visit one just to say how I don't like it. haha, that's funny to me. To each his own I guess.
I myself and very excited about the festival. This being only the 2nd year and wow look at the artists combined. It's insane. I was blown away last year when I wasn't sure what I was going to do with 10 hours of my time but my buddies and I had an absolute blast wondering around from stage to stage. My friend brought his 4 year old son who loved the half pint hootenanny thing. And I was so happy there were little to no lines at the other bathrooms not next to the mane stage. We laughed our asses off at the long lines when you could walk a few minutes with no wait.
I'm looking forward to checking out a bunch of artists I'm not even going to pigeon hole myself by naming who. But I'm even more excited about what we might discover.

Last year was amazing and this year is going to be amazing as well. My friends and I cant wait to see all these great acts. Its unfortunate that some feel the need to bash because things arent to their likeing...Its about the music the people, friends and the memories that will come out of this experience. I know we will have a blast and I hope everyone that goes has just as much fun.
grissem - love the great attitude. you're the people that make the festival. would love the inside scoop on the no-line bathrooms. we walked to the front gate row every time. were there others??? guess i was the one you were laughing at! ha ha!!

This will be my first year and I'm going just because it is the most awesome concert out here. Yeah, my personal favorites are not on the bill (alas, they were all there last year!), but there still are going to be some great country artists there this year. I'm looking forward to taking it all in--walking from stage to stage and hearing all these acts I've never heard before.
I think Rascal Flatts could be the second to last up on Saturday--seems a bigger act is needed there--but plenty of people think Rascal Flatts are the hottest around right now.
The Judds is going to be quite a show. Getting to see them back again for one night will be something not too many people across the US will be able to say.
I'm going to miss a lot I was hoping would be there, but there are also going to be a lot I've never seen--which may end up being my new favorites.

Maybe Countrygurl can answer this but do you think they will actually add someone? I don't remember them adding anyone last year. The only surprise I can think of was when Uncle Kracker hit the stage with Kenny. If thats the way they pull off a surprise, I'd think Kid Rock or Cowboy Troy as both are associated with Gretchen & Big & Rich.

I've seen Tim McGraw 6 times, he's always great. But why bring the Judd's out of retirement? That seemed like a wierd pull. Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift (I saw her at Brad Paisley, she was awesome!) are going to be great. I think the line up is not as strong in 2008 as 2007 was. I would have liked to have seen:

I have some friends who have been going to Coachella for years and say GV has a tendency to not repeat acts...try to keep it new/fresh every year. Works for the indie crowd, not so much for the country crowd. We like our staples! I am still going this year, there are still some good acts to see....I just hope GV figures it out and brings back the big guns. Actually, this will make it easier to check out the smaller acts....less competition! Regardless, HAVE FUN!!:)

My wife and I were at last years concert and had a great time. We are as excited to see this year's show as the one last year.My wife can't wait to see the Judds and I have always wanted to see Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson in the same show. For those who have not seen Gretchen in concert you are in for a treat. I am not a huge fan of Rascall Flats but I don't expect to like every act at a festival like this. For those who complain it is too expensive, check out what it would cost to see all of these acts separately. Go and have a good time and if an act is on stage you don't like, check out one of the other stages or walk around and check oout all of the other activities that are there. I hope everyone has a great time.

While Dwight is one great song writer and one of the few "Nashville acts" keeping it real, his live performance doesn't live up to expectations. I saw him a six years ago and was greatly disappointed. Maybe he's changed though.

I personally find next year's line up real disappointing. I thought the line up at the Palamino stage was awesome and well worth the price of admssion. I can't say the same about 2008. I'm hoping that there are more acts to be added to the bill besides the top 40 -Trashville- cookie cutter performers.

Why not do this? Just because you didn't listen to them when they were hot doesn't mean they don't have any fans.
To you I could just as well ask why Taylor Swift is even going to be there. I don't like her. However, I won't because plenty of people do like her and it is just a nonsense question to ask.
Does anyone under the age of 50 and not from Iowa listen to them?

I didn't read anything anything about Hankdog wearing chaps but maybe that is your perception of what he might be wearing, Gay-boy. As far as his post is concerned, everyone is entitled to his, her, or it's opinion. This fourm is a vehicle for people to reach anyone who wants to listen, including the managment that hires that acts. If enough people voice their displeasure at the line up maybe it will change for the better the next year. While I am not a fan of the Nash-pop acts that are taking center stage (or Mane stage), there are plenty of other great acts on the other stages. I can get right up front. That is the great thing about Stagecoach.

Hey thanks for the slam Gay Boy in Palm Springs. Christ, I was merely giving my opinion. I guess that isn't allowed in here. I'm merely making a case that there's good and bad out there. To each his, or her, own taste in the genre. This event fortunately offers something for every one. If you think George Jones sucks and that Rascal Flats is good, so be it. Last year's line up was more eclectic and had better headline acts (Straight & Jackson).

Sure is a lot of negativity here. If you don't like the line-up, don't go. If you think country music is a single genre & unchanging, go hide in a cave. Then the rest of us will hoop & holler & have a great time at Stagecoach.
Obviously Gay-Boy chooses what he likes to speak when it pleases him

Yes dissappointing could be a word. Definately not as good as last year. Would have loved to seen Martina or Trisha on the line up this year! Was sad about that. Also ticket prices are just silly, why?? Would love to RV camp but cant see putting out that much $$$. I am sure it is a good party had by all but damn that is alot of $$ plus tickets. YIKES!
Still on the fence about going.
Was wondering does anyone know if GA sells out or do they just keep selling? Also are they offering one day passes at all this year??
Thanks

Our families need to meet!
I'd lick Gretchen's toes.
I am not sure if GV is updating us as well as they did last year? We are hearing rumors of Kelly Pickler pulling out and now this week that Big and Rich are taking a year off. I know it says the line up can change, but how about keeping us updated if it is true. Last year it seems they were more forthcoming with info, remember the great debate of chair no chair, and in or out for camping? There has not been any updates since the announcement in November:confused:

Ok, Countrygurl, here goes...This is an incredible line-up. I live in the Bronx, and my wife and I are HUGE country fans. And we don't even have a country station in the city! She was looking to see if we could get tickets somehow to see Big and Rich( missed 'em last year), or Rascal Flatts ( missed 'em too), so she came across this festival, and, well, just about everyone we want to see will be there ( sure wish Brad Paisley would stop in too) but, honestly, this looks like a killer weekend! And they just added Trace? I'm there!!! (missed him at 3 different venues in the area)!!!! And just my 2 cents, all country is GOOD country. There isn't anything else out there that compares. And, Rascal Flatts may not be traditional country, but any group that opens the door of country to new fans, and introduces them to legends like George Jones, Earl Scruggs, Billy Joe Shaver and the like, well, that's country. Can't Wait!!

I just noticed how few acts are playing each day compared to last year. George Jones and Ralph Stanely not to be missed sunday for sure.
maybe goldenvoice did some market research and figured the people coming to stagecoach will not want to travel from stage to stage and be overwhelmed by so many acts going on all day.

It's gonna be way better having fewer artists per day. We must have walked what seemed like hundreds of miles from here to there and back again to get to see everyone we wanted to see. Last year was a test run and it was great. This year seems planned out way better. By the way, if the Pickler drops out, not really missing much. Saw her with Brad Paisley and she wasn't all that. Taylor Swift was way, way better.

My wife and I went last year. We were two of those who "camped out" at the Mane stage. (We're in our mid 50's and not prone to hiking any more) :o
We enjoyed the shows for the most part. George Straight, Brooks & Dunn, Gary Allen & Sugarland all put on great shows! My wife is a big Chestney fan. Neither of us was impressed by his warm-up show. In fact, it was so obnoxious, that we had some punk rocker types behind us leave! Kenny finally got on track, but it took him several songs before he did.
Any way, After the last concert, my wife and I talked for a long time about the many, many class acts we had been privileged to see that weekend. We had adopted the attitude of "We've been there, done that" towards Stagecoach. Then they announced the Eagles for this year. :D
My son contacted us and asked us to come to the concert with him. So, we'll be back this year. Still trying to get a good look at Fridays line up. Don't know if I will or not. But we'll enjoy the Eagles no matter what. ;)

Last year was such a blast. Me and my daughter loved it. We had GA last year this year I got the vip tickets, so we will be up close and personal. Couple of meet and greets this year, too. There are so many acts it is hard to see them all, we did wonder away from the main stage last year to see Willie and Marty Stuart, but stayed pretty much around the main stage. Last year there were about the same number of acts. The smell around Willie's stage was pretty strong and she didn't like it. Can't wait for this year, we will be camping all weekend again. Only 26 days till Stagecoach 08! YEE HAW

I'm curious about the changes this year to the stages and the artists on those stages (heard not all headliners will be on the mane stage, for example).
Either way, since I'll have my not-so-patient, 1-year-old with me, I'm sure I'll have to be wandering around a lot too.

I highly, highly doubt that the headliners would not be all on the same stage. Those are the PAID seats! There would be a riot if Rascal Farts showed up over on the small stage in a tent that holds only 1000 people, not that it would bother me hehehe...
But then again it depends on what your definition of a Headliner would be. I thought Willie should of been on the mane stage last year, but he was on the one next to it, that made it nice, as you were able to get up close to him. More of the poets, old skool and bluegrass are all over in the smaller tent stages.

Oops! You are so right. I sure confused myself. Must be something in my HB water.
It is not the headliners changing stages. It is that the stages will not be set to specific kinds of music (I guess "real" country was on one stage, while "new" country was on another, etc.) This year it will not be that way.

04-07-2008, 11:40 AM
I do kinda remember that most of the poetry type music was at the further stage, which was strange, there was a HUGE dance floor in that tent. And then the awesome up and coming or Good Ole Classics, like Willie were on the 2nd stage...Palomino I believe. I did not feel that they separated new or real country, cuz willie played with the newbies

I know from the 15/60 interchange with no traffic, taking the 60 all the way in is 90 miles, and it takes me 1hr and 20 minutes doing about 70, maybe light traffic at the 60/215 due to the construction, so YES avoid the 60, take the 10.

Michelle Branch mostly on Friday. She has a new cd coming out. Pete Finney is playing pedal steel for her.
I saw Dave Matthews band at the Hollywood Bowl this past year and yeah....such a staple with the music. Not one bad song.
Michelle Branch? what's up with her. Started out as pop then went Country with the Wreckers (horrible) and now is going solo again and still trying Country? I think she is very talented but we are a very fickle and don't like change. It would be like at the CMT awards and Snopp Dog trying to go Country PLEASE

Hi Rose,
I know saw that somewhere, but I can't recall where. Anyway, I was so convinced of it that I made sure to get close to the main stage. It actually makes sense that he would be on the Palomino stage, because that's supposed to be the alt-country stage. Oh well, I'm still really excited about the festival anyway:)

It's just like last year when Willie Nelson wasn't on the Mane Stage either and should have been. I guess it's one way to get us out of our seats and get us some exercise.

no problem kisses...I got ya covered.
I think it was either GSF or IHML who said refills are like 2 bucks. I should have asked how much the first one cost? I just hope they have more booths set up this year. That line snaked all over and I kept wondering what they were selling.

It was GSF. I wasn't patient enough to wait in that line. ha! I don't remember how much the first one was but the refill was pretty cheap in comparison. But I'm waiting this year--they sound too good to pass up!
