First timer here... My friends and I are NOT camping onsite, but staying locally at a hotel. If we chose to leave for a few hours to go back and rest, will we be allowed to re-enter the venue the same day?

No you cannot:
•Ins & Outs (between venue &
camping only)

In the "Venues & Rules/FAQ" section of the site it says...
Ins & Outs (between venue & camping only)
So it seems not.

The shaded areas underneath the side stages work in a pinch if you want to take a quick nap.

It should not be a problem as long as you are not driving your car. If you leave the festival to go back to your hotel you would need to take a cab. The no "in and out" rule is mainly for people wanting to drive their cars back and forth.

Good point SPK! I had assumed that you meant driving too, I've done in-and-out in years past without a problem.

Hmmm...some say no, but SPKemo says yes. According to the SC rule list, the only in's-out's allowed are from the venue to the rv park. But I'm thinking they can't force people to stay inside all day, especially if you have children, which fortunately I do not. I just want to clarify so that we can plan accordingly. Is there a phone # that I can call to get a definite answer? Thanks everyone!!

Well logic says: You only need a GA wristband to be in camping areas (there are no camping wristbands). From camping, I could walk/cab/shuttle OUT of the venue to go to the store, go to will call office, get something from my car. So I think you're fine!

The festival map makes it look like GA parking is super close to the festival entrance...NOT

You can leave the festival if you're not camping, because there is NO WAY to tell if you're camping or not! There is no camping wristband, just a sticker for your car.

If it says no ins and outs I wouldnt trust it. Cuz they do have every road to festival blocked off about 1/2 mile to mile outside of festival. So maybe they mean if you go outside that boundary you will not be allowed back in. so make friends with people camping and hang out there and rest up if need be

Youre right I forgot about that...i guess my main concern is if we are able too, then can my group can have some coolers in the cars and then go out during the day to go uhh hydrate ;) but I have no idea how far itll be since i have NO clue what to expect in general parking except complete chaos. So I dont even know if itll be worth it.

Also, make friends with security guards at the side gates, then when you need something they're pretty helpful. Those guys stand at the gates and get nothing but attitude all day, be the nice one and its funny how the gate gets left open.

The wrist bands are RFID. which means they scan them so they keep track of when you enter. but they do offer shuttle rides to stores so im not sure. we'll have to check with staff to clarify this?

I know that, it tells when you enter and leave, just as ticket barcodes can. Pretty sure it doesn't say you've already been in, then left. And even if it does, you're ALLOWED in and outs into camping. They're not scanning it as you come within a mile of the venue, just requiring that you wear it. I'm using common sense and saying that it would be fine to leave and come back.

I understand that it's a rule, I'm just wondering how it's enforced, since it contradicts other rules. Companion parking clearly says you have in and outs except after 9pm Fri-Sun (til 1am). If it's noon and I wanna run to the store, according to the rules, I'd be allowed to with a companion pass. Just wondering how they would track your whereabouts with the GA wristband...
Countrygurl, input?

I can't figure how they would know whether you're an on-site camper, off-site camper or using the day parking lots if you use the exit for camping and then leave the venue...unless there is no access to the day parking lots from the campsites. It would be different if campers had an additional wristband. Just not sure I'd take the chance leaving without a concrete answer!

Maybe because people are wondering about the ins & outs and no one answers with a clear answer. website says no ins & outs expect camping. but yet if you have a champion parking pass you can leave and come back. and you can take a shuttle to the store. so the website is kind of contradicting itself.

I just saw the posts on her profile. I don't think he realized he was messaging you there, or else....??? IDK!
Either way, she said it's fine to leave the grounds but traffic with 50k people might make it impossible to get out or get back. Which makes PERFECT sense. So do your store/coffee runs EARLY folks!

If I can wade in here because now I am also confused.... What I think the question for CountryGurl is, can we physically leave (not necessarily in a car/shuttle) the Polo Fields and expect to be let back in? Assuming of course, that our passes are valid and we are within the hours that gates are open.

It is OK to take the shuttle to the store. that is A shuttle. that is not the same as 100s or 1000s of people trying to drive back and forth around town coming in and out.

I guess im less worried about the driving bit of it and more thinking about whether or not I can personally leave the Polo Fields and allowed to return? if you dont plan on leaving then lets stop harping on this repeatedly. this is a 3 day music festival with 50k people going in a residential area surrounded by 2 lane streets that will be blocked off and directed by indio police. it can not handle in and out traffic. some of the surrounding roads will not allow pedestrian traffic. you can take a supermarket shuttle. cars wont be allowed freely in and out of companion parking, there are times posted. you can go in and out from venue to camping. I think some people are over-thinking things for no reason.

This is not a new rule. Been around since the very beginning of Stagecoach 2007. SOME people try to slice and dice these rules to accomidate what they want to do, not thinking about others, traffic, neighbors etc...
When people ask maybe your answer can be...read your rule book and/or No ins or outs except to RV/Tent/Car Camping/Shuttle areas. Very simple.

Okay, so my only question is...can I take my shuttle that I paid $94 for, to my hotel and back? It only makes sense to be able to do this. I just simply need to know if I can leave the festival, take the shuttle to my hotel, and then come back.

Rv = camping areas
Car Camping = camping areas
Tent Camping = camping areas
Shuttle area = come and go on a bus with others
Day Parking = people who did not pay for a shuttle pass, have a car, and are staying at local hotels/motels/condos/their own homes etc...
I don't get why this is so difficult for you do get. Countrygurl directed you correctly about the shuttle business...talk with THEM! It's not part of Goldenvoice/Frontgate/Stagecoach or anything else. They just happen to have an area marked off for pick-ups and drop-offs for shuttles. Just like they have nothing to do with Taxi's or Limo's
I don't want to sound like a dick or anything
