The website says that RV Campers must have a minimum 75' power supply cord. THAT HAS TO BE A TYPO! Really 75' ? So I pay $750 to camp and now I have to buy a $100 power cord? Someone please tell me this is not necessary

I should add that we have camped every year and only brought about a 35' power supply cord and it has never been a problem. Just want to be sure they didn't actually change something up from previous years. Thanks.

not sure why you would risk it or doubt what is written on the official page for the festival.

If is says it on the website them I'm sure that is the worst case scenario. If you get there and you are 45 feet from the hook-up then you will be really pissed at yourself.

Exactly why I asked the question...hoping to bring it to someones attention in the event it isn't going to actually be necessary. :D

I think you are correct that it would be worst case scenario. Sooo... anyone know where to get the best price on a 75' rv power supply? Because they are NOT cheap! Thanks Ya'll.

It is very rare to find someone who actually sells a 75 ft cord, most are max 50 ft. A 75 ft power supply for rv's runs about $200. This is why I am questioning the fact that the website would say it has to be a minimum of 75 feet. I think I will try to contact them directly. Everyone have a great weekend!

From my experience, 75' was not necessary. They place the receptacle box at every other row of RV's so basically 4 RV's plugged into one box. If your main line coming from your rig is able to extend to the front or back end of your rig plus 10-15 feet you should be fine. (if they havn't changed anything) Most RV's or trailers the power is about halfway down the rig on the port side (driver side). So in a 50ft space you are only 25-30ft from where the power supply will be. The only way i see people needing extension cords is if they pull a trailer and "nose in" to their spot on the far side of the box. And even then a 25' cord should work with the adition of their factory 25-30ft cord.
Also, you should have a power cord on your rig already right? So you should just be able to get an extension cord to reach the extra distance. Make sure you get the right guage cord (30amp or 50amp) or if you use more power than the rated cord you will blow a fuse at the supply box. (and yes 30-50amp cords are expensive)

Thanks Kuzn :) I do have an email out to a couple peeps to confirm that they didn't change it up this year. If not, then I am all set. Again, just got concerned they are doing something different this year. So many changes already...just want to be sure

no prob. Make sure you have different adaptors too. Never know what they plan to use for connections (should be three prong blades) If you really need a 30amp or 50amp extension cord try craigslist under boats for used ones. Lots of people with boats slips sell them for cheap when they are done with their shore power. good luck
