You guys all seem like nice people, but let's face it, there are some thieves out there. (prolly not you message board folks tho)

When the bands are playing and everyone is enjoying the music, whats the protocol on keeping your personal stuff safe in your camping spot? Simply putting it...i dont want to get beer-jacked.

first time camping. first time at stagecoach.

The best advice I can give is for you to lock it up. If you're Car/Tent camping, I suggest putting it in your car. Better to be safe than sorry. So far, I've not had anything taken from me in all the years I've gone. But there's always a first time.

Yes, Lock everything up! Things definitely disappear. I don’t think there is many theives scouting stuff out, but if a full ice chest is left out they will take it. (among other things) The first year I went I left my ice chest out overnight and there was a few beers missing and money left floating in the ice water. Luckily I had more beer. Also stolen from me in the past was a full bottle of Gentleman Jack, a barstool, a speaker box, and a 5gal bottle of propane. All of this was taken while we slept (3-7am) not durring the show.

My suggestion is to get a long cable and run it through everything you value. If you make it even slightly difficult for someone to steal, they will be deterred enough to move on to your unprepaired neigbors.

Here is a $20 investment that should help. http://www.homedepot.com/Doors-Windows-Screens-Tools-Accessories/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xh4Zarpf/R-100345558/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051

I've been lucky with my stuff but I have heard of people having entire coolers of beer and ice just walk away. @Kuzn_edy has a great point. People wont steal it if its tough to get.

We did exactly that...My husband bought a 50 foot thin metal cable, crimped the ends into loops so we can thread it through our chairs, camping table, etc and lock at night. Learned from experience. He also put a lock on the coolers and they get threaded as well. Easy, simple no grief the next morning.
