This was on the policy page "Are generators allowed into the onsite RV camping ?
Only generators that have been factory installed on your RV are permitted."
ok so I have heard from many people that have had their camper/rvs in eldorado2 and that they use portable generators for power? So are you allowed to have them in some campgrounds and not others? Or was this rule changed and applies to this year? Please help b/c i would like to know if Im going to be without power or not in Eldorado 2!!!! THanks!!!:D

any ideas on how you are suppose to run power a travel trailer that don't have factory installed generators? LOL! Im just surprised and don't get logic or the rule. Thanks sorry for being a pain!

I have ALWAYS (for last 3 years) used my portable generator in lieu of my on board gas guzzling generator without any incident. I have also seen MANY others doing the same thing. It is not possible for trailers with no "built in" generator not to use a portable one. I know the rule has been the same for years about generators. I think they just look the other way.

Heres my 3cents... Hope this clarifies the thought process for the generator ban.
The rule is obviously made for your safety and everyone around you safety. While generators are relatively safe, i believe the real issue is fuel storage. (although its not written this way for simplicity). If you have a "factory installed" generator, then it should have a fuel tank onboard your RV/Trailer that already passed all the UL standards and is generally safe. For portable generators you will need gas cans/containers scattered about to keep them running all weekend. Just think if they allowed portable generators how many gas cans would be sitting next to the generators... then think about the mentality of people in ED2 at 3am and put the two together... what do you get? (dont answer that, it was a redundant question)
If you plan to break the rules, and bring one anyway, i suggest you have a back up plan incase they strictly enforce it and prepare to suffer any consequences they set forth. And aslo plan your fuel storage in an extreemly safe manner. Pretend there are going to be a bunch of drunk idiot men that think they are 18yrs old and like to play with fire in your campground at 2am. (shouldnt take too much imagination)
