Hey All! First time Stagecoach-er here!

I was unable to get on-site camping but managed to reserve a couple of camping spots at Lake Cahuilla in La Quinta for my group. I've heard great things about the campgrounds but had some questions....

1. What is the easiest way to get to Stagecoach from Lake Cahuilla? My group is leaning towards taking our bikes down. Google says it's about a 25 minute ride.

Any thoughts on bike riding? Are the roads safe? Are there places to lock you bike up at the festival?

2. Any other modes of transportation easier than biking? Just don't think I want to deal with driving back and forth every day.

3. Anyone else camping at Lake Cahuilla?!

Hello,

There is a place to lock up your bikes but, the bike ride after the festival is going to be brutal!! I would see if there is a shuttle near by that you guys can take. If its a 5 min bike ride to the shuttle that might even be worth it.

It's actually further to the shuttle than it is to the festival, guess I'll have to start my cycle training now!

Glad to hear you got camping at Lake Cahuilla! I wrote about it a week or so ago, hoping that they weren't sold out. Great place and not too far away. I think that the route they send the cars when the festival is over, is the opposite of the direction you may be going. My friend always rides her bike from a few blocks away to the festival and back and gets in and out quickly. Just be sure to have reflectors or lights on your bike. It would be great if you found someone else staying there to carpool together with. Are you familiar with the area?

It is definitely not a 25 minute car ride....max 5-10 min by car with traffic. By bike may be 25 minutes. So great you got in on that, and the price is much better too!

Yes, the bike ride looks to be about 25 minutes. I will make sure that all of out bikes have reflectors.

None of my group is from the area, we are all driving down from Sacramento & San Francisco. So we are just trying to do our research before we get down there.

I'm actually really excited about camping there for a few reasons. The price was much better and I was able to get 3 campsites all right next to eachother. Plus we can bbq and have a fire there and there is a swimming pool!

Anybody else staying at Lake Cahuilla!?
