The city of Indio is charging 10% tax on camp spots but the city code says that this tax applies to hotels, time shares, and other facilities. No where on their site is camping or camp spots mentioned. WTH? Anyone know about this and why we are getting screwed with it..

Don't knock it. The folks who live near the venue are throwing 5 year old style temper tantrums over the festivals going on there. I'm sure this is one the city's attempts to appease their citizens (they're also requiring sound checks to be performed after 10am).

I say the weekend is worth paying the tax.

Chalk up your tent, RV, or car as an "other facility" and stop whining. The site clearly stated it before you paid.
