For them to raise tx prices so fast in one day was pure greed & crazy. GA should stay ONE price through out no matter when you buy....I have NEVER seen such a hot mess as I did yesterday....Stagecoach peeps REALLY NEED to review what they heck made them think this was a good idea...YIKES

it was stated beforehand that there were 3 tiers to the pricing for ga. first 5000 tickets at one price, the next 5000 another level, and then the final $199 price.

explain why it should stay one price no matter when you buy? please enlighten me.

did you see the post by countrygurl where she stated that last year only 9000 tickets were sold the first day? do you think they were expecting this kind of demand? they were going by last years numbers and if it held to that no one would be bitching because it would still be at the second tier in pricing. no one saw this coming. you cannot blame the promoter because 40,000 people decided to buy in the first day.

I just think that the tickets should have been a set price for a set amount of time not a set amount of tickets - I feel like the loyal people who go every year were given no consideration in thie process . . . . and I can understand that they couldn't have forseen the chaos that ensued but that doesnt mean they shouldnt accept their failure and make up for it somehow. Not just a blanket "we appologize for any inconvenience" statement.

You have to realize that Goldenvoice is a business and they have a bottom line, though. if they sold 35,000-40,000 ga passes the first day at only $149 they would be taking a huge hit to their books. Believe me, they sit in budget meetings for days hashing out all these details. People should be happy that there was even a discount offered, but yes it sucks that the old timers missed out on the cheap tickets. Based on first day sales I am guessing they could have just started the tickets at $200 and done just as well. Knowing Goldenvoice they will most likely do what they can to fix that for next year, unfortunately not much they can do this year.

For next years Coachella they held a presale just a few weeks after the fest ended this year(no discount, though). Now that Stagecoach is selling so quickly maybe that will be an option next year so the ones that have the fest on their radar year round can jump on some early passes. Of course, the lineup won't be known, but Stagecoach is so much more than the lineup anyway...and it if doesn't suit your personal taste you can just sell them...for face value, of course.

My only issue with the price was that I most likely would have been in that first 5,000 people if the "waiting room" had REALLY been done in a first come first serve manner. It wasn't and I paid $228 per ticket when I finally got a friend (who got in SIX times) to buy me a ticket. That's MY issue with paying the higher price. I was on at 9:56am. I guarantee I woulda been in one of the lower priced tiers had the system done what it was supposed to do. THAT'S the bigger issue here.

I hope so because I have always bought my tickets the first day first min avalible and this year I couldn't get threw an I missed out and for me it's not worth going if I can't camp because I know I'm going to drink and I can't afford a DUI.

not so sure, this fest is huge, nationwide/worldwide notoriety now. wouldn't surprise me if there were several thousands of people in that waiting room before 10 trying to get passes. 5000 passes isn't that many if each person was buying several for their group. think if everyone was buying 2 then that would be just 2500 people to sell out the first tier. no doubt in my mind there were that many people logged on before 10am, too.

don't worry, once the weekend is here you will forget about the extra $50, i promise you :)

being able to afford a dui should be at the bottom of that list. number one should be "not able to live with myself if i killed someone" ;)
