I was able to finally get my passes and everything. But this was a total failure of a process. Why was it not in order? When I read the print in the waiting room where it said:
•Users will be selected from this page for the chance to purchase tickets.
That told me that they were able to pick and choose who would be able to buy passes and when. Not very fair at all. I Got mine, but it was an unbelieveable hassle. I knew after I saw it posted that the first 5000 passes only would be at 149 that they would go fast.
Last year I bought a hotel package and was able to pick my passes and seats after Thanksgiving. This year even the hotel packages show that P1 and P2 are sold out. Hopefully StageCoach will correct this mess next year. I believe that GA at 149 sold out this year after about 20 min. I had to pay 199for mine.

If I remember correctly, everyone was complaining about the ticket buying process last year as well. They probably changed from ticketmaster because of all the problems. I guess the saying is true, be careful what you ask for, you just may get it.

Got in waiting room at 10:15, after the site crashed twice. I was finally able to get in at 12:45. One I was done I cleared the cookies and got right in.

Spoke to a friend of mine who waited 10 minutes and another who waited 20. Both logged in after I did at about 10:25. In the future they need to do something different. I am extremely frustrated and this next a huge fix!!

Stagecoach always has layaway and it's worked perfectly the last several years. It was the process of buying the tickets that was the issue. I waited forever, just to miss out on camping passes. I don't even care that I now have to pay $200 for GA. Hoping more camp spots open up, like stick & ball from a couple years ago.

how is it being greedy? they could have just started ga passes at $199, they knew they were going to sell no matter what. but instead they offered the first and second batch of 5000 passes at a lower price. wanna blame someone? blame the 10,000 people who bought tickets before you.

I totally agree with you! I don't blame the people before me who got tickets. What ever happened to a week or so, a month or so of same price tickets? That's why all this scalping is taking place.
People are willing to pay for a good festival, and obviously they are paying these ridiculous prices... However, they WILL ENJOY the great entertainment, but they WILL EXPECT the festival not to be oversold, not to have to deal with a bunch of young drunks disinterested in the music, not to have to deal with fights and lame security people that don't know how to handle security issues... For the big bucks, come more expectations...

GREED IS a part of it because they could have kept the ticket prices the same for a week or a month... Suddenly this year they decide to go by numbers rather than a time frame... This is what caused this whole mess, with the system that couldn't fairly and equitably handle the masses of people that were trying for the lowest priced tickets asap.
Starting it on a weekday was a mistake...those of us who work don't have time for this, which makes an unfair advantage, however there was an unfair advantage anyway with that BS random waiting room.
The next part of the GREED is when they oversell the festival. I remember last year Rascal Flatts announcing that there were over 60,000 people there. I sure liked the size of the Stagecoach the first 3 years....after that is when the first part of the GREED set in. Way too many people. Lets see what the numbers are this year.
Come back and talk to me and others after the weekend of Stagecoach and we'll see what the numbers are then,...we can discuss GREED again! :o)

I guess im coming at it more from a camping and RV perspective, with the limited amount of spots they have. but i guess festival pass sales should count too... what would you say then? At least double if not tripple, right? Everyone was talking throughout the year that they werent going to get burned and will be on the site the minute they went on sale. Some thought should have went into how the system would handle the initail surge of concerned festival goers.

And still a complete clusterf*ck in the system... and the "waiting room" or acutally the "lottery room" was a disaster which i have not read a good defense to yet.

As my friends were unable to get out of the waiting room I was able to get right in multiple times the whole morning. There still has been no explanation for that.

Capacity at Empire is actually almost infinite. However, their permits with the city of Indio allow for up to 80,000 per day.

The 80,000 is for Coachella - where there is no VIP seating, and no chairs/lawchairs, hay bales, etc. You can fit more people in when there is no furniture and when people don't reserve huge ass spots with blankets and ropes. At Coachella we stand, we don't sit our butts down except maybe to eat or sleep.
