I'll start, here is the latest one I got
It says you can buy one camping pass, however my parents are out of the country and won't be able to purchase their pass.
After I buy my camping pass can I go back and buy another one or do I need to make a login for them? Thanks again!
The rule is one camp spot per household, really that means per billing address.
People are allowed to place an order even if they are in another country. There is phone and internet. They must have a different billing address than you though in order for them to also be able to order a camping spot and festival pass order too.
Sure you can set up an account for them, just keep that info in mind.

Stupid question, but what happens when you have roommates with the same billing address? Basically you're SOL? My co-worker was asking me about this today as he and his 3 roommates all want to car-camp. I thought it would be ok with different names on the same billing address. Something to maybe look into changing for next year, because this is going to prevent some people from being able to camp I think.

It's a problem that happens with a lot of events that have ticket limits. (sporting, concerts, plays, musicals, etc) Outsmarting the scalpers seems to outweigh those situations. I would suggest (and hope) that someone in the household has a friend or friends that they can give money to that can place an order for them from a different billing address. Where there is a legit will there is a way.

This is very true :)
One last question. What if I win tickets (passes) this week and want to car camp? Every person I know buying tickets is also camping, and limit is 1. I know this SOUNDS unlikely, but if you know me, it's actually closer to probable :D

Well firstly I would hope you could camp with any of your friends that are already camping but if not, all radio stations were told they should give us a list of winners so if we have any camping left we could offer it to them.
I would not put your eggs in the winning basket. buy a festival pass and camping spot. If you win passes later im sure you can always unload your extras.

Sure. Billing address is to match the card you are using for purchase. Shipping address can be the same or different but remember for shipping, no PO BOX addresses allowed and also someone needs to sign for your package so keep that in mind.

What is the reason why they dont use the stick and balls lot this year? That is a nice piece of property thats perfect for more RV's. Was the owner not willing to rent it out? Is that where regular parking is going to be? What about the lot on the corner of madison and 50th for Stick and Balls this year?
I dont see how its not a money maker for the venue. (300+ RV sites) x ($500 per site) = $150,000 Subtract other stuff like rent on the property, more toilets, fencing, trash service, security, clean up, and insurance and its got to be still around $80-100k profit right? (plus that many more people in and around the festival buying food and drink) Just dont know why they wont open this lot up.

Thats a much better map of the area... But i think Lot 5 changed from Day parking to the Car Camping this year. The new map shows one giant parking lot for day parking along Ave 52, but we know thats not the case. Its actually like 10 little lots as shown in your pic. I think they should use (from your picture) lot 4A for stick and balls this year.

Some SC'ers can't even walk on a flat ground then you're going to add "floors". Oh my... drunkeness and trying to climb a scaffold to your tent lol:eek:
To bad there won't be any trees.... take it back to childhood and make a tree house

As funny as it may seem to have scaffolding and two tents ove each other... as a general contractor, it can be set up extreemly safely (handrails, toeboards, safety netting, etc.) Im not talking 30ft in the air, just 6ft (more like bunk beds for tents)
Maybe thats what i should build... A bunk house in the corner and wrap it in canvas. I just have to start thinking outside the box, because im going to have like 20 people staying in my 20x50 space because im the only one who scored a spot.
Yup, shidders gunna be full that weekend!

you're only option would be, assuming you have a festival pass, if you dont already have a camping pass and you were one of the lucky people to be able to get a tent camping pass then you would have to pick up the pass as explained on the camping page and then hand it to her after.

They (security and/or police) came by and shut down our music at 2-3am most nights. We had a loud stereo set up though. We turned on a small portable radio down low and it was fine. Nobody stopped us from hanging outside and enjoying ourselves. ED 1 just slows down by 2-3am anyway. If you need loud music after 2am just walk a few hudred yards south to EDII.

Countrygurl, This is going to be my group's first time camping so we were reading the rules to get a heads up on everything. I noticed in the alcohol section, it states that if someone under the age of 21 is in the vehicle they may not allow the vehicle in or confiscate the alcohol. Our group has one girl who wants to attend who is under 21, but the rest of the group is over 21. The people over 21 want to bring alcohol for camping, but we will all be arriving together. Is there any way we will be able to get in or do we have to buy another car spot just to get her and the alcohol in?

There were tent only camp spots sold. this info is on the website, bottom of camping page
TENT CAMPING:
Tent camping passes are $75 + 10 % Indio TOT tax + service charges.
Each space is 10x15.
Each space comes with a parking spot in an adjacent lot (you cannot park your car next to your tent).
You may fit as many tents/people in your spot as space allows.
Only ONE camping pass per purchase.
Only ONE camping pass per household.
Tent Camping passes are WILL CALL ONLY (will call details to follow once festival wristbands are shipped).
Original purchaser will need to provide picture I.D./credit card used to purchase pass/AND Wearing your Festival Wristband.
We will not accept any name changes.
These camping spots are allocated for those who were unable to purchase camping passes during the on sale. We will cross reference with camping passes already purchased and cancel any duplicates. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A CAMPING PASS OF ANY TYPE, DO NOT PURCHASE A TENT CAMPING PASS.

Yikes, 16 months. You're going to have your hands full. You can't bring umbrellas and its usually extremely hot, no outside water either. They MIGHT even take issue with baby bottles. Security isn't the most reasonable bunch.

I have ALWAYS (for last 3 years) used my portable generator in lieu of my on board gas guzzling generator without any incident. I have also seen MANY others doing the same thing. It is not possible for trailers with no "built in" generator not to use a portable one. I know the rule has been the same for years about generators. I think they just look the other way.

After reading a new post about the neighbors not being allowed to sell parking on their lot, it got me thinking and curious where this "additional parking added by the venue" is going to be. I searched the whole site an found nothing on where the parking is or how to get there (specifically day parking and companion parking). Its hard to believe that this information is not out there and easy to find, so maybe I just didn’t see it (nothing on event info or visitor info). The only thing I find is the camping map that shows the south half along Ave 52 being "day parking", but this is misleading because that’s actually about 15 different lots with separate entrances and some private property.
I hate to always sound so cynical on here, but parking has seemed to be a huge blunder in the past couple years (at least my experience with the companion parking). Can we expect a detailed map of where to park (both day and companion)? Im sure you anticipate much more companion parking with the sell out of everything. Also what about the map like a couple years ago that had arrows of how to enter these lots. That was HUGE for me the first time I went because I had no idea how to arrive and I think it helped sort the herd of different camping passes.
Thank you, any help as early as possible is appreciated!

Can we expect a detailed map of where to park (both day and companion)? Im sure you anticipate much more companion parking with the sell out of everything. Also what about the map like a couple years ago that had arrows of how to enter these lots. That was HUGE for me the first time I went because I had no idea how to arrive and I think it helped sort the herd of different camping passes.
not really a need for detailed parking maps for day parking since you don't really have a choice of where to park. you drive down monroe/madison/jackson and they direct you to the lot currently being filled.

I hope it is that simple for the day use people... But you cant even find those simple directions on the main page anywhere. Only a map of Indio and a google link. I still think they should provide some sort of directions to the event and explain where the parking is going to be to keep idiots like me from finding a way to screw things up.
Specifically for the companion parking... Lets say my friends meet me on friday afternoon (3 companion vehicles for our group)... are you saying just to drive down one of these streets and circle the block asking parking attendents if this is the companion lot? This was not a fun experience for us in 2010 because nobody working the event knew anything. Wife ended up circling the block for over an hour and then parking in day use for the weekend and luckily we were not towed. Something needs to sort the day use from the companion lots. Especially with the expected amount of companion vehicles (and nobody can play dumb, we know there are gunna be twice as many of these vehicles this year). Will we recieve companion passes that the attendents can see and direct us to the right location? I thought it worked great to have directions to the RV entrances. This way not everyone is coming down the same street then getting turned away because they didnt come to the right entrance.
We didnt go last year so maybe they got this all figured out and im worried bout nothin.

They usually update things here when it gets closer to the festival. Stuff like the festival map, camping map, and so on. Although, if they don't, all you can really do is get off at jefferson or monroe and head south. all parking is basically accessed via those roads.
this was on the "onsite camping rules" page:
"* You will see signs directing you to your specific campground. Maps will be posted closer to the festival dates."
this is from the Coachella site:
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From Los Angeles - Interstate 10 East towards Palm Springs. Pass Highway 111. Exit 10 at Jefferson Street or continue on and exit at Monroe Street. Travel South. Traffic personnel and/or signs will direct cars to the Empire Polo Club, and event parking & camping. Please carefully obey all signage and staff directions.

Companion parking question: I realize that these passes were to be bought with concert passes, I read that part, however, things have changed since November when passes were bought and one person in my party needs to arrive later. Is my only option to try to buy someone elses ticket that they are not using? I'm hoping that someone is bored at work and will answer my question. thanks

if they are still available you should be able to call frontgate and add one to your order as long as you haven't already ordered a companion pass previously, (888) 512-SHOW

Companion car parking is full, I tried today already. Will you get towed if you leave the car in day parking overnight after they lock the gates?

So I have a car camping pass and so does my friend. In order to get spots next to each other, we have to arrive together, correct? There's no 'saving spots for friends'?

Just got my ticket package today.... I guess the stress is over now! Are they going to post the map that we got in our package with the detailed parking lots? Would be nice to print a bigger one out and distribute to my group since we are coming in three vehicles and we only got this one map. Thank you.

I tried looking real quick, but is there a map available, like in previous years, that tells you how to get to the entrance of each specific campground?

In your welcome guide that came with your tickets, it's on page # 7 & 8. This year (compared to previous) it seems very important to follow the directions into each specific campground.

I know it is a 3 day pass - but are there artists performing on Friday, or just Saturday and Sunday? I can't come till Saturday morning... so definitely don't want to miss anything

Are they going to update the map on the website to match the one we recieved in our ticket package?
I guess we could take a picture of it with our phones if needed.
Does anyone remember which thread someone posted a digital copy of the map... I looked for while but couldnt find it. If you find it, pleas post here. Thank you.

I haven't seen a map yet. I know there is one in that little book, but it doesn't have arrows to the each specific camping spot entrance like years past.
I'm a rookie at towing a trailer and I can't be going in circles trying to find the entrance. I need a direct route.

That is super confusing compared to previous years. They had a map with only one campsite on it at a time. I only need to know how to drive to ED2.
I'm sorry, I must be lame, but I liked the ones they used to have.
