1971 Grammy for Country Song of the Year!!!

Kris is way more of a famous songwriter than a hitmaker for himself.

I sure hope he ends up as a closer on one of the smaller stages.

Love all the artists who will be entertaining us, however, do wish some of the older artists like Kris would be put on main stage - was a bummer to have Dwight Yoakum in on the smaller stage a few years ago...........actually was a mess and still think they owe him a return on Mane Stage - YEAHHHHHH!!

Written by Bruce Fessier

Kris Kristofferson performed May 6, 2007, on the Palomino Stage at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio. Kristofferson will return to Stagecoach this year to fill in for an injured Loretta Lynn, it was announced Friday.

Lynn is recuperating from knee surgery. Kristofferson, who performed at the inaugural Stagecoach in 2007, will kick off his upcoming tour with this performance.

The fifth annual festival will be held April 30-May 1 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. Set times are scheduled to be announced next week.

Kristofferson wrote and recorded such hits as “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Sunday Morning Coming Down” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night.” He also toured and recorded with fellow country outlaws Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings as The Highwaymen.

Looks like he's going to be on the Mane stage taking the place of Loretta! I look forward to seeing him.
