Jello Shots!

I'll be making plenty of Jello shots this year! Last year they went way too fast. Any ideas on new recipes and does anyone know long will they keep in the fridge? I want to get started early as last year they took forever to make!

I definitely want to try some with Sweet Tea Vodka & lemon Jello! Think they will be yummy. Actually I might make some today. Always have supplies on hand :D Best ones I make are with lime Jello and several different alcohols!

I would they would last prob 3-4 days but not longer than that they may even be dried out by the 4th.... But you gave me an excellent idea. Think I will be testing shelf life this weekend I've made them with Malibu and strawberry jello? I think

Just finished making the Sweet Tea & lemon. Looks like iced tea and smells yummy! Malibu & strawberry sound way yummy too. Anything with Malibu or Peach Schnapps tastes really good! Do you remember if you put a whole cup of Malibu & 1 cup water?

I was hoping they'd keep longer. I wanted to start the weekend before because I work long hours during the week. Eh, oh well. I can find time for such important necessities!

1 cup Malibu® coconut rum

Mix hot water and jello. Add rum. Pour into 2 ounce cups. Serve after the jello has set.

I was looking at the Jello website and there are 3 flavors I'm interested in finding: strawberry daquiri, margarita, and pina colada. Has anyone seen these & if so what store? I've looked at the local grocery store, but they don't have them. Website says they are seasonal, but that season is coming up! I know how to make them without that type of Jello flavor, but I think they may taste better w/the appropriate Jello type!

I love the sweet tea vodka too. great with lemonade. In fact it would be great with the frozen lemonades they sell at Stagecoach!
Never thought of a jello shot with it.

Margarita jello ? I'm going to vons tonite and look. I'm assuming this would be mixed with tequila.

get a tub/bucket that will fit in a freezer.

(2) 1.75 ltr. tequila
2 cups sugar
10 lemons halved squeezed into bucket and then put into bucket.

put in freezer. you will have a lemonade slushy that is pure tequila. there is little to no tequila taste.

OMG- this sounds so good. Makes my mouth pucker right now!. This "slurpee" would get me into big trouble. Just like Angies lemon drop shots did a few years back.

I had some at a friends house a while ago and they used actual hollowed out lemons and oranges for the molds instead of the cups! (cut fruit in half and fill with j-e-l-l-o, and once set cut into slices). I thought it was very cool...they said you can do the same with strawberries...

Don't know if they'd keep as well as the cups with lids but thought I'd pass this along :)

Looking at all these posts i decided i wanted to try making jello shots, never done this before! so i found a recipe for a red white and blue jello shot! made it and they look amazing! im so excited to try them and hopefully they are good cuz then i can bring some for all my fello stagecoachians!

they do tend to go quickly, if you're spreading the love, you should definitely make a couple hundred...for a small group, 50-75 should be good for the weekend, EAT UP!

We had 200 last year in the RV area and they were gone overnight. Scary.

I could not find Lemon Jello! go figure. but I did make the margarita jello shots that IHML posted. My son and I "sampled" them...ok, a lot of them, and they kicked our butts!
I want to make some fruity ones now.

We found the lemon jello at the ranch market near us. they had a deal of 5 boxes for $5.

i think i also noticed it at vons but i was a little more expensive

the cups were in a pack of 125 2 oz cups and its was under $3

i also got the sweet tea vodka at smart and final. it was $15.99 for the handle.

They are ugly, but taste yummy!

1 Box Lemon Jello
2 cups boiling water
1 cup cold water
1 cup Sweet Tea Vodka

So I guess my proportions are the same! Ended up tasting all the Jello shooters this fine Easter weekend. Need to make a trip back to Smart & Final, lol :)

We also made some Peach Jello w/Sweet Tea & Peach Schnapps! Those were great also! Tasted like a peach iced tea.

well i use to do all the cold water as alcohol but then ppl complained they were too strong. maybe ill do 2.5/4 as water and 1.5/4 as alcohol so theyre a little stronger...

koala, it doesnt matter what size jello you use. you make it like normal with the boiling water and melting the sugar and then replace the cold water with alcohol or do part cold water part alcohol. as long as you measure the right proportions on the box you'll be fine. the larger box would make 64 1oz cups.

We had it DOWN! It went pretty smoothly too I might add. Except for the little spills here and there.

You're gonna need more jello!! and that's prob not enough, it'll make up to 50 full 2 oz. shots. Which is about 12 shots each. For a whole weekend. You do the math! And no, if you get the little cups with lids, they won't dry out!

We started last weekend and they still taste fine to me :D

finished making all my little soldiers last night. used 4 large boxes and made 123 jello shots, each more than half way filled.

they smelled SUPER strong but when i tasted the mix before is solidified it tasted perfect!

going to try one (ok maybe more) this evening!

i ended up doing a 3 box batch first and my proportions were 7 cups water, 5 cups booze.
