Im sure things will pick up, looks like the month before stagecoach more people were posting.Alot of people decided not to go this year, or they are boycotting the event, or don't like the line up, maybe the price increase, or the quick sell out of camping and rv spots or they are just butt hurt. I'm the new comer here, but I got the info from others, and I read the messages from last year.

1 disappointed by kennys last performance out there.
2 no money for tix
3 alaskan cruise in the summer is waay more important!!
4 oh... and not excited by the line up one bit. Previous years it was like oh- eh -oh- oooooo- wow- omg kinda response. Not this go round :(

4 agree with the line up not being the best but IT'S STAGECOACH!!!

I dunno...the past couple of years I've had a miserable time at the concert. Way too many people....can barely see the screens, let alone the performers, rude, drunk people climbing all over my stuff and not caring that they are standing on my chair or blanket, the heat....I just feel that with all the money I spend on an RV, admission, drinks, etc, I get a better overall experience at an individual concert. My new year's resolution was only to see performers I haven't seen before, or performers in a small venue. To each his own though! I'm definitely not putting SC down....it's just not for me anymore! Have fun!

Hi IHML! I'm with you! Toooo crowded! We're spoiled from attending the first stagecoach ~ so AWESOME!!!!;)
And yeah, small venues are the BEST!! Saw Ryan Bingham last weekend @ The El Rey in L.A. it was such a blast! I love him! Missed him at 2008 stagecoach! Trying to win tickets to see Dierks @ The Troubadour tomorrow night ~ he said he's bringing Miranda and Blake and some other surprise guests! With the Grammy's in town you never know who might show up. I knew I should have bought tickets when they went on sale! UGH!

I agree about the dumb people crowding up, and the dopey people who stomp on our blankets. And yes doing the RV camping was expensive. Nope cant see the performers in that venue. good thing most of the headliners make the concert tour and we can see them close up. I guess its just background music. I do agree it has gotten much crazier with the crowds .
But there's still some thing fun about the planning, the people watching, the annual meeting of long lost friends. Its the BBQ, the Rv parties, the country music fans and boots everywhere. Its making it an all weekend event. It's the craziness of the weekend, saying yes I was there.
It's just one of the get away weekends that is fun to do. but the decision is year to year. I understand about those who don't want to go again this year- the repeat acts is a big deal. And the bummer is , I missed out on the $99 tickets too. But we got our motel room at a cheap rate.
This year I am trying to pick and choose my concerts carefully. I do like the smaller venues and although I could figure out a way to go to all the shows that make the rounds, I want to make sure its worth the money. Getting pickier with the entertainment dollar.

I too have the "only new artists, or artists that I love" rule these days. When the repeat thing first hit me, it was a bummer. But then I thought.... "hmmm, let's see a weekend of fun in the sun, all the country music I know and love... how can that be bad?" If you can make the departure from comparing it to previous Stagecoach's... and just judge the weekend on its own... it still a hands-down good time. Having said that... I'm a seat person, not a grass person (pretty sure I'd end up throwin down with some stupid chick acting like an idiot invading my space and draggin her trashy ass all over my stuff)... so i can appreciate the aversion to that kind of experience. hell no.

I repeat performers if I like them. I have also gone to repeats that disappointed me the first time around only to get a better show the second time. I have seen Toby Keith three times in the last two years and already have my seats for his tour this year as well as another go-around for Tim McGraw. Really want to see Keith Urban again as I was amazed at his performance last year at SC. I was one that said I wouldn't go to SC this year after the lineup was announced but I am going as this festival is not just a concert but a weekend experience.

It's not about the repeats...I agree...hated Tim McGraw at SC but gave him another chance at his own concert and I loved him! I know you all say it's about the weekend experience. That's the problem I have now. The whole weekend just isn't fun for me anymore....like the bad outweighs seeing old friends and hanging out in the campsite. I have other vacations planned this year and I'd rather use my money on that than renting an RV and all that comes with the weekend. I'm not bashing SC in any way...it's just not for me anymore.

I here you IHML. I have read some of your postings about bad parts of the weekend. My GF and I do it quite differently than most. We basically use it as a weekend away. We cruise around a bit in the campgrounds but mostly stay to ourselves. Just a hell of a relaxing weekend for us. I can also see the cost factor as that is what I was asking my GF this year, Cruise or SC? She chose SC.

Thanks for understanding. I've been getting a lot of flack for not going so it's just nice to hear that people kinda get what I'm saying. I'm sure you guys will have a great time!

For me, it is probably my last "family" camping trip before we all head out on our separate ways. We are tent campers and are really looking forward to the entire experience. We didn't have a problem last year with people on our blankets, probably because there were so many of us.
I totally get what y'all are saying about it not being for you anymore. This is only my second year, so I haven't hit that wall yet!
I will be out there the weekend before to see The Big 4, also (now THAT is really going to be something!)

I'll be at SC2011....Like every Year :) The Stagecoach Experience is not all about the performers. I go for good times w/ friends and family :) I have met some really GREAT people in past years....still hang with them today!! BRING IT ON!!

I love the attitude! just reading your post reminds me why I love this festival so much!!! It's not just a concert its a Music Festival!!! the crowds are part of the event!

Wow sorry to hear that people have had some less then desirable times at Stagecoach - been there every year and have loved all but the year they had it for 3 days......Two is enough!!! One day tickets that year were horrendous.....like people came who couldn't afford the whole weekend and got drunk as skunks and were rude!! Haven't had that problem since and have always enjoyed - put my stuff down - walk all over, party, have some drinks -some fun food and greatttttt entertainment and good friends!!! Oh so hoping I find that grilled Italian sausage sandwich with sauerkraut again this year and pleaseeeeee bring back the ice cream with warm waffle - weeeee LOL HAVE FUNNNNNNNN!!!

I was drunk as a skunk that year and didn't notice anybody being rude. :D
i enjoyed that year... the price for friday was high but it was a nice friday night warm up for the weekend!

ya think scarr............LOL......you the one threw that lawn chair across the grounds by the vendors???????? LOL.....oh wait perhaps you were the young lady (use lady loosely) who tried pushing her way past everyone cuz she couldn't see where she was going!!!
Even with some of that going on I will be the first to say I alwayssss have a GREAT time and look forward to this year too.............will watch out for you though scarr!!!! LOL
