The Stagecoach BBQ Contest will return again in 2011
Most of the 30 teams will be vending "Tastes of BBQ"
A 3OZ cup for $3.00 Everything from competition BBQ
Beef Brisket and Ribs to Pig Candy
a favorite at last years Stagecoach

Meat, Inc. BBQ Team will be back this year! Come by for the WORLD FAMOUS Atomic Buffalo Turds.
Last year we sold 20lbs of peppers in 90 minutes - a lot of you were disappointed that you weren't able to try them so this year we are going to prepare 100lbs of peppers per day!
Ordered me a turd and "sold out" at like 1:30 (after our group pic) Said to come back in an hour, again "sold out". Was told to come back in 20 minutes and one would be waiting for me. To my very grateful surprise a special turd was waiting just for ME!!! YUM. Can we place our pre-orders now?

Big surprises in our area this year
The BBQ will be my FIRST stop this year. The first couple of years at Stagecoach you just needed to get there before 3ish but now with word spreading on all the good eats I'm not missing out!!!
Thom, are you going to be located in the same area as 2010? That was a perfect location for stage hopping.
Not in a billion years did I ever think I would be begging for turds :rolleyes:

The expanded festival grounds will make the whole SC
experience a much more pleasant one
More room for everyone by moving somethings out of the way
to make more space for the concert crowds

When Pigs Fly BBQ is back for the 5th straight year.
Stop by for some great BBQ and... NEW this year Smoked Peach Cobbler. If you have never had Peach Cobbler cooked in a smoker, you are in for a treat!
Better come early, this cobbler goes fast.

Pork Ribs (uncooked) are on sale tomorrow at Ralphs from 1-9 p.m @99 cents a pound.
I am thinking about going to buy me some. Any good recipes that include an oven or a crock pot since I don't have a bbq?

They can be oven cooked
This would involve liquid smoke
or a BBQ sauce that claims to be
"hickory flavored" maybe other smoke flavors
The crock pot idea is a crock :)

Are they Spares or Baby Backs?
1. This is why most of us only eat BBQ the WHOLE weekend of SC...and I will again this year!!!
2. No gas grill either, and I can not count my George Foreman as a bbq grill LOL

4. (not to offend anyone) Valley Ranch BBQ was off the hook good on their babies but closed a couple of years ago due to the economy. Dr. Hoggly Woggly's is close by but I am not a fan along with not being a fan of the Bear Pit. They have off the hook Texas toast or whatever they call it but that is it for me.
5. BEST bbq (other than SC) was in Memphis, TN at (surprisingly) an Irish Restaurant. It was baby backs with a memphis dry rub and needed no sauce. I can't wait to go back someday soon.
6. 99 cents a pound is a GREAT deal. Just need to figure out how to cook them WITHOUT a country bbq man in my life.

or Google ( Cooking spare ribs 3 2 1 method )the results will be what we do
just substitute the oven for the smoker and add a VERY small amount
of liquid smoke to the recipe

Thom- Ribs and Brisket for Stagecoach too, I hope.
Be sure you remind us where the competition has been moved to. That was the meeting spot for our group picture the past 2 years.
My local Ralphs sold out the 99cent rib deal in 15 minutes. Even the employees couldn't get hooked up. I did get a rain check that is good for 2 months. I can't make Palm Springs this weekend but I look forward to eating your food at Stagecoach.

Ribs? Did I hear somebody wants ribs? Stop by When Pigs Fly BBQ for your lip smackin' ribs. Better come early though, they go faster than a greased pig dropped from a helicopter.

Pete's Firehouse BBQ will be at Stagecoach!!!! We are really excited. We will be sampling our Award Winning BBQ on Sat & Sun, come see us. Looks for the Red Flashing Lights and listen for the Siren!
We will be sampling the following:
--MOINK Balls (Bacon wrapped Meatballs)
--REDNECK TACOS (tortilla w/pulled pork and cole slaw)
and some other exciting items too!
Make sure to stop by and say hi!

On the map below there is a white area three sided box
This is now a green polo field and inside the event fences
Our contest and many of the food vendors will be there
Openings have been cut in the wall and fence so folks can walk
toward any stage they want to
This change leaves much more room in the concert area
Goldenvoice really hit a home run with this idea

Trying to figure out a good location for a group picture, too.

called "the Terrace", multiple openings lead out to all the stages of Stagecoach
Note the map is from Coachella, Stagecoach is similar in set up
The Ferris Wheel will be easy to find

what's the best way to "tackle" the bbq area? every year i get there its REALLY overwhelming? does everyone usually just get the sample cups mentioned for $3?
