what's there to do in the Indio area???

i'll be at Stagecoach (well obviously! LOL), getting to my off-site camping area sometime Friday afternoon/early evening before this whole she-bang starts. I will probably have my cousin with me, as she's most likely going to Stagecoach with me and my friend.

is there anything that generally takes place in the area the night before Stagecoach that might be fun for us to go check out (because otherwise the alternative is the two of us sitting at our campsite staring at each other)? Neither one of us is big on the whole "bar scene", but if there's a place in the area that has good music/good food and would generally be a good time, that'd be awesome....

also it's not necessary that said place be a place where Stagecoach artists are most likely to visit, because star-sighting is not necessary on my part.......but if they DO frequent a certain place in town, it might be cool to go there too.....

year 08 - went to a pre party at Neils and that was a blast. Many of the roadies hung out Friday night. Good food and good music but following year was closed due to fire.

year 09 & 10 - went to the pre party at the Jackalope where K-palm the local radio station was the host. year 09 was GREAT, loads of freebies, good music, good food and good drinks. year 10 not so much...standing room only, no freebies, food was ho hum, no drink specials and a live band that you couldn't hear and not so good.

Those pre-parties get planned just weeks in advance of the big event. Not sure what I'm going to do this year but your more than welcome to join me 1countryfan4life and friends...do you remember that we met at the Sugarland concert a few years ago at the LA county fair.

i was at jackalope ranch for lunch today and i asked one of the waiters if there was anything going on here friday for stagecoach ... ( because he commented that i looked ready for next weekend ... which i dress as every day so i found that a lil odd when i do go there from time to time ... ) but anyways he checked and said there is going to be some kind of event going on there so thats where ill be for awhile.
