Hmmmmm, wonder if they will sell out ED1 this year. Hasn't sold out since the first year, that I know of anyway.
Tent camping will be next to sell out and I just wonder how soon that is going to be? Seems like SC11 is going to break all the previous years records for sales.
Guess this festival is no longer a BIG SECRET hahaha.

SC needs to get a reality check. We are in an economy crisis and next to the holidays coming up, where do you want me to whip up the extra 30 bucks from? That's not counting the extra fees, food when you are there all day and somewhere to sleep. Oh did I mention, gas to get up there and back along with any money for fun?? What the heck? If more money so soon I say, add another day! or more artists :)

the festival is not a right, it's a luxury. it's also a business for the people who run it. if $30 breaks the whole weekend for you then maybe the money is better spent elsewhere.
and if we are in such a crisis then why are people spending the money to go in the first place? good to see you have bought into this big "crisis", though...keep fear alive!

We got spoiled GSF with the low ticket price. We were told it was a limited time offer, just didn't know for how long. So many people will pay lots more than this for their tickets the closer it gets. I have a feeling the ticket sales must have been pretty good for the opening day.. and plenty of people do like the line up. You may get lucky and win them on the radio too!

Cooter, I understand that it is a luxury but with times hard like these, we like to get away from our problems and enjoy a weekend like the SC weekend. 30 dollars wouldn't break my weekend but it is annoying how SC is sneaky like this. I am glad sales are doing well for SC but to go on sale at one price on Friday and then change the price three days later!? Rude....

Just admit it GSF - you want Friday added with Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire & George Strait!!!

it's how many festivals do it, not just stagecoach. they may set a certain quantity and once ticket sales hit that mark the price increases. there is nothing sneaky about it. people excited enough to go had several days to buy at that price, it's a nice little bonus for taking the plunge early.

Countrygurl, is it true that the GA ticket prices will be raised again from the current price of $129? Or will they remain that price as they have in the past?

It says "for a limited time" on the "buy tickets" page. Since tickets are selling so much faster for 2011, at this point it wouldn't surprise me if they went up again sooner. Although I will admit it was shocking to see how fast things sold as far as EDII and the initial early bird ticket batch (which was same amount of tix as 2010).

Well, I say shit or get off the pot and buy your tix on opening day. If you put 2 GA tix on layaway I am betting your out of pocket would of been less than $50 on Friday (nov. 5th) and the remaining couple of hundred broken down into 4 payments. You can ask for a easier payment plan than that..... FF you are so lucky, you will probably win yourself some tickets. Or wait for the Boot Barn promo, cause Lord knows we spend at least $500 at Boot Barn before every SC anyway... We all know they go on sale in Oct/Nov. I was actually expecting to buy tix earlier than Nov. 5th.

I have to disagree. I bought 3 tickets on layaway last year here's how it broke down:
October 16, 2009 US $122.80
December 1, 2009 US $72.23
January 1, 2010 US $72.23
February 1, 2010 US $72.23
March 1, 2010 US $72.21
TOTAL: US $411.70 US $122.80 US $288.90
So per ticket cost upfront was $40.93.
THE FEES KILL YOU!!!

No guarantee the price won't go up again. $129 may seem cheap come February.

Tickets are selling much faster for 2011. I thought the first batch would last until then again too. It was very surprising.

Will the price remain $129, or could the price go up again?
I know no more soap stars, but might there be some other sort of special incentive later?
