People complain every year about the line up and then go and have a good time, or they don't go and the rest of us have an even better time because of it. See ya in Indio!

Oh heck yeah it is. I think one thing many people don't realize is that you can only book artists who are available and want to play. People always comment on why so and so isn't playing. Take for instance: If you were an artist who has been touring your ass off for a year or two and are on a break would you really want to come out of hibernation to travel thousands of miles to play a one off festival show? and since this is pretty much just a country music festival their scope of artists to book is much leaner than coachella who can draw from rap, indie, punk, rock, and pretty much any genre under the sun for its festival. i know some bands route their tours so that they can be in the area come stagecoach time, but for others that just isn't feasible. especially the smaller groups where the payday is pretty minuscule for playing a festival show. they can probably make more playing a small club than they would at stagecoach, much more so if they have to go out of their way to get to the festival.

Not to mention...they always bring up a 'last-minute' artist a few months before the show, so for all you know it could be someone you want to see...

I'm excited...5th year for me...it's MY weekend...the only weekend of the year that is scheduled for me and the girls!!!

I for one don't see myself going this year with that line-up. The promoters need to know when a fan that has planned on going (I already booked vacation time) decides not to go based on the line-up. I go for the acts, the parties are secondary. I can't justify that money outlay for the acts they have booked unless they cut the price down. The ticket price should reflect the quality of the acts. 2010, four main headliners. 2011, 2 1/2 headliners (Just saw Carrie in San Diego and after the show I thought she should have been an opening act, not a headliner). Tickets should be cut 35% minimum.

LOL, yeah there is a lot that goes into it and you obviously have been around the industry for some time. It's all about routing and one off's, etc.... At the end of the day it doesn't matter who you want, it's who's available and if it fits in the schedule... Booking is a long process... I spend 6 months of the year do it..

99.00 for a two days pass = $150.00 after fees. 21 acts = 5.00 per performance. That's impossible to do so if you see 1/2 that's $10.00. Yes, I know that doesn't include food, drink etc...but you spend that at every concert you go to anyway.

Yeah true, and we justify it like this every year, but three stages, so 1/3:D, not including the walking/travel time just getting from stage t:mad:o stage. although that is sometimes the funnest time.:)

maybe this is why Garth wont be there

$99 for two day pass yes, but after your done with the weekend, camping, beer, hotels, gas etc,... more like $1000... =) Not saying it's not worth it, but it doesn't equal out to $10 per artist... let's be honest here.. lol

true, but when you have a significant other, etc. to explain why you go...that's a damn good response! "But honey! Only $99 to see ALL these artists!" ;)

Booked motel 6 Friday through Monday $175.00 (includes taxes and fees), I don't drink beer, gas runs around $20.00 for my honda fit for a full tank. Free parking at SC. If I go VIP then it's closer to $800.00 so that would be $40.00 per artist. I don't like honesty, please lie to me and tell me that I don't look fat in that dress. Ignorance is bliss and I'm sure you sell WWF the same way. IT'S cheaper than just one concert.

Yeah, festivals are a budget buster and worth the fun. You just have to be happy about going, and the line up in order to justify it. Heck I spent a ton last year with my 5th row seats...but wont do that this year with the line up.

we booked our hotel right when the dates were released, motel 6 its like total 280 and somethng we split it 2 ways. All we have to worry about is mney for food and gas. Tickets aren't that much only $99 for 2 days that really good, especialy when you consider its that much for 1 ticket at any other concert.

1000 times worse?? Seems like a bit of an exaggeration. Bed bug calls have increased 81% since 2000. That is a "true" fact.

So there is a problem, regardless of that fact, I would probably but new sheets from target anyway and bring them with me. I would figure Motel 6 sheets are just nasty.

HUH FUNNY ARE YOU IN THE PEST CONTROL INDUSTRY BECAUSE I AM AND MY FAMILY HAS BEEN SENS 1962. IN 2000 WE HAD 1 MAYBE 2 CALLS FOR BED BUGS AND NOW WE HANDEL 20-25 CALLS A DAY SO YOU DO THE MATH. AND JUST FYI TARGET SHEETS WONT PROTECT YOU FROM BED BUGS IF THEY ARE THERE THEY WILL GET YOU AND YOU WILL TAKE THEM HOME WITH OUT EVEN KNOWING IT THEY DON'T JUST LIVE IN BEDS THERE JUST CALLED THAT

Attached is a CNN 2010 article on bed bugs. And I quote "Overall, bedbug calls have increased by 81 percent since 2000, according to the National Pest Management Association, which conducted the 2010 Comprehensive Global Bed Bug Study with the University of Kentucky."

http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/07/27/bed.bugs.travel/index.html?iref=allsearch

Seems a bit more reliable than you.

And, I never said I would buy the sheets for bed bugs. I said I would buy them because I feel Motel 6 sheets are just nasty.

Anything else you need me to clarify??

LOL FUNNY YOU QUOTE THAT I AM A NPMA MEMBER AND THAT IS A PERCENTAGE BASED ON NATION WIDE NUMBERS. SOME COMPANY'S HAVE ONLY SEEN 1 OR 2 CALL INCREASE AND SOME NON LIKE IN RURAL AREAS BUT ME BEING ONE OF THE TOP 100 PEST CONTROL COMPANY'S IN THE US AND SERVICING ALL OF CALIFORNIA AND BEING ONE OF THE COMPANY'S THAT THAT STUDY WAS BASED ON I CAN TELL YOU IT MORE

If your company was included in the study then wouldn't it be more? Your claim of a 7,300% increase("IN 2000 WE HAD 1 MAYBE 2 CALLS FOR BED BUGS AND NOW WE HANDEL 20-25 CALLS A DAY") is ludicrous first off. Also, I could claim that Vans "The Era" shoe is selling 70% more this year than last year. But that would be just for one of my stores. It is only selling 5% more across the board company wide. Be more accurate when you are trying to throw out stats.

UKNOWME

I am telling you what I see on a daily basis that study was done in in the first quarter of the year and over the entire united states we live in the third larges market for bed bugs. Some areas in the us have not seen any bed bugs and some only 1 a month so in California my number are not wrong. And im not talking about Iowa or Oklahoma I'm talking about where we live and sleep.
