Hey guys! Last stagecoach i stayed in ED1 but i was thinking about Tent camping for stagecoach 2011! Can somebody tell me how tent camping is?? Give me all the info...
Is it Fun?
Do they check thoroughly for Alcohol?
Do they have their own showers?
Can you still get into ED1 and ED2 to party with our friends staying there?

Thanks guys!!

last year, it was pretty much a free for all.. anyone could go into the rv area... years before thst you had to have bands...
i didnt do tent camping last year (we did ed II) but i heard they were really strict on alcohol. in the tent area. what we also did last year, was when tent campin sold out so fast, we let people put a tent up at our rv site...

This year they did the showers different, you had to walk over to one location, behind the polo bar. Pain in the arse when it is hot and you shower to get clean and have to walk back all they way to your rv/tent. Before they had them located at different areas.
As for Alcohol, they went thru luggage, coolers...everything. RV area, they would go into your rig. You were allowed one case of canned beer per person and one liter of liquor per person
Yes, you can go to all the ED areas and hang outl

nit strict at all on alcohol.... i walked through probably 3 different times with at least 3 30 packs each time. bottles were as easy too.

It is a crap shoot, when we checked in with my RV, there was an EZ up with tons of confiscated liquor already! And I arrived early, in the next two hours there was enough to open a large liquor store taken away. But then again, the guy who searched me, said "he was just doing his job" and wasnt too concerned with what I had...he was more worried about the stored firewood I had from years of going to the desert that we keep in there.

I heard that they were really only concerned with glass bottles in both camps. I actually LOVED tent camping (did that 2 years agoa dn did EDII last year) and would totally do it again. Easier than RVing it in a lot of aspects. The shower lines for women were hours long when I was there. Last year they made the showers a HIKE and put them altogether between EDI & EDII. Close to me, far from the tents!

It wasn't too bad as long as you got there early or REALLY late.

We have tent camped now for 3 years, this will make our 4 year camping. It seems like every year it does get better, first year it was a mess getting in and out. Also you only had a 8X8 foot space for each person so for us (2) we had a 8X16 foot space. But it worked. We had to hike a long way from our car to our campsite.
Next year we came very early and were able to park right in front. But that year they did not let in any alcohol, had to resort to finding a way to get some in, very creative was the buzz word. We came in on Thursday night and partied that night and all the next day out by our cars. It was a real blast. Everyone had games going, beer pong, shooters, nice group with lots of laughs and fun.
Last year they figured out about the alcohol, and for us it was the best year yet. Lots of people playing games and just having a good time. We went over to the RV sites but really were having so much fun hanging out with all our neighbors around us that we mostly stayed put.
I am hoping that this year they might go with car camping like they did last year at coachella. That would be a blast to have your car right their with all your gear.
Seems like every year we learn a little more and they try new things to help. Just be ready for anything and I do mean anything and you will have a great time.
We have gone every year and are really looking forward to another great STAGECOACH!!!!!
Now lets hear about the line-up for 2011!!!!! and get the party started!!!!

No, I can't get info on FB because I'm not on FB. Anyone want to debrief me via here or via PM/Email?

Why do people assume everyone is on FB? There are actually quite a lot of people who aren't... Planning things like this on a closed site isn't a great idea.

FB wants your life to revolve around their site and y'all are making their wish come true. Not me.

You only need to use FB as much as YOU want to use it. Only invite friends YOU want to invite. I love it, I keep in touch much more with my family now that we are all on it. Plan trips, time together etc. Also, people use it now for invites to parties etc. You make of it what you want out of it...try it

I agree with Mr. upsycho. FB defaults to stealing your personal info to sell to advertisers so that Mark will have more $billions than Bill Gates.
I did like the movie - probably because of the Trent Reznor music. :)

Sure.. Do what you want with it. But just because YOU are on it, don't assume that everyone else is on it (I mean "you" in a general sense). That's all. I have no beef with people that choose to use FB but it'll be a cold day in hell before I do.

why don't people just bring their own portable outdoor showers? like the solar ones? would be perfect for stagecoach.

sell out for Coachella in 2010 was 225,000 = 75,000 per day for the 3 day festival and they did not sell individual day tickets. They sold out a few weeks beforehand.

I dont think it would be that high for stagecoach because at stagecoach people bring chairs and take up a tons more room. coachella there are no chairs/blankets allowed so there is more standing room.

Tent camping comes with one parking spot. A companion parking pass is for if you have companions coming in an extra car, a spot for them to park their car. This and more info can be found on the onsite camping page on the website.
