Alan Jackson with Chris Young (:D) and The Band Perry, Friday November 5th @ Nokia Theatre. Or Club Nokia. Still not sure on that Nokia part.

Presale starts tomorrow, not sure what type of presale though (code, certain credit card, etc.)

Bueller? Bueller?

Used to confuse me too Nicole. They have renamed the whole area LA Live which includes all the restaurants, movie theatre, bowling alley, hotels, Staples, Club Nokia & Nokia Theatre.

Club Nokia is above the bowling alley. It holds around 2300. Balcony is always seated and the floor is either standing or seated depending on the artist (sometimes can be a little of both)

Nokia Theatre seats 7100.

Both venues are located across the street from Staples.

Alan Jackson will be at Nokia Theatre.
Blake Shelton will be at Club Nokia.

Yes Nicole, it's the big one, Nokia Theatre. I really wanna go! GoCountry's website has the pre-sale code for this morning. Otherwise there's an Amex presale tomorrow. But I don't have one of those so I guess I gotta get tickets today.

Alright, well, I couldn't get 4 together at all so I did 2 and got ORC row BB. Then I tried for 2 more and got ORC row KK. So me and KL will be in BB and Kat's mom will be in KK. Did anyone else get anything good?

I have to vent here regarding presales. They are so frustrating! Some of you bought your tickets during yesterdays presale & got row BB. I just looked @ 6pm today to see what was available and got row R seats 313-314 (dead center). 10 rows closer than presale! Which brings me to the reason for my rant! I bought presale tickets back in July for a concert in Oct. @ Nokia. The confirmation receipt said ORCH(P1) seats 412-413. For 2 months I'm thinking I have Pit seats. I get my tickets the other day - ORCH Row X seat 412-413!!! On the day I received them I was so mad I looked @ ticketmaster and row D was available - 20 ROWS CLOSER than the tickets I bought 2 months ago! Even today row G is available! WTF! So they took a block of seats way in the back and sold them as "presale" seats! I called Artist Arena who handled the presale and the guy reads off my seat # and I said are these Pit seats? He says "yes" then tries to backtrack after I told him about the tickets I received. Tells me (after being on hold for 5 min.) Oh! P1 is an internal code! UGH!! I've been hosed!!!:mad::mad:

such a MEAN game. Presale purchase of one, row J. Am ex Platnium row MM. On sale at 10a.m. regular - row K, Am Ex row QQ. Wait until the evening (9 p.m.) of same day on sale. PIT row 6.

I purchased Gary Alan on day of sale at Gibson and was in Section 2 row AA. Presale was 4th row. If I waited until prior day of concert I could have had a center PIT ticket for the same price.

Always good to check late for tickets. Many of the venues start throwing the un-used vip tix within the last few weeks before the shows. Sometimes random seats. Sometimes they throw back entire rows that were blocked out.

Yup, day of the show at Staples Center, a friend got first row to a "sold out" John Mayer concert back in March.

It IS ridiculous. Ticketmaster will however upgrade you if you call them and they have better seats available. I've had to do it a couple times. This happened to me for Sugarland too, the Tickertmaster guy told me I had Section A. It was a total lie!

Rose, I saw that info too about the Live Access VIP. Pretty pricey, and you must buy 2 tickets!
Now this is what I'm wondering. Does the ticket venue hold back the most premium seats to have available for this offer? They would have to, to justify the cost. If this is true, that means the general public has yet another strike against us in trying to purchase really great seats for these events. This is really a bummer. I have noticed all the same inconsistencies that these posts have shared about pre sale, general public and last minute purchases.
Now, the last question. If those primo tickets aren't sold for Live Access purchase, will they be released for general public purchase? If so, when? the day of the event? An hour before?
I'm not too fond of this Live Access offer.

Well, for example. Lady A tickets. premium, VIP, with an orch seat, is $175. Must purchase 2. $350. Not sure if "venue fees", "handling fees", "printings fee" or whatever else, is added on.

No wonder orch seats- or a limited number, werent available when the tickets went on sale!

I'm with you FF - Not to happy about the, must purchase 2 which would leave me out and it's discriminatory against us single folks.

This VIP access is it worth it???
Alan Jackson 2 tickets is around 185.00. 2 VIP access passes which includes tickets is $430.00. It includes the $20.00 parking fee so can you drink (beer and wine) and eat (snacks) $225.00 worth? Is it worth the separate bathrooms and no lines??? What is the area like?

I'm just pissed that another group of orch seats where held back, for possible VIP purchase. I get really ticked when the first day of ticket sales it says orch seats are "not available". heck we're fans !! we're VIP's too. And when they do not get sold for that crazy price, they will be released closer to the date of the show. grrr...

They really need to lower these concert ticket prices PLUS the parking fees, price of food and drinks etc. It's getting super ridiclous. Wouldn't you want a "sold out" concert/event and actually end up making more money from the sales of CD's, hats t-shirts etc. Many of us don't go out like we used to because of it.

For these kind of prices I need to get some serious "snoring" too.;)

I've got a REALLY long story about a guy that thought I was in Alan Jackson's band:

In 2003 I was on tour with Joshua Stevens (the producer of "San Diablo") promoting his album. We were scheduled to spend most of the tour opening up for the Kottonmouth Kings of all bands but we had the pleasure of opening up for G. Love twice on our way to Chicago to begin our run.

After the first show somewhere in Missouri we pulled into a hotel that we were going to crash at for a few hours before we had to pull out of town. This looked like an Econolodge version of an old western ghost town. The wing in the back of the hotel had been cordoned off with police tape and the main body of the place surrounded a swimming pool that hadn't seen a drop of chlorine since the Nixon administration. The Jacuzzi bubbled with no assistance of motor or electricity. It was an absolute dump but the room was reasonably clean and cheap. Our crew were the only people in the whole complex when we checked in. After the check in was formalized we all hopped back on to the motor home we had rented and made a quick liquor run.

Armed to the teeth with Evan Williams and various sundries we returned an hour or so later. As we prepared to leave the motor home a mustachioed drunk came along and started slapping one of the windows. He was as drunk as the day is long and we could smell his funk through the glass and over the diesel fumes from outside the van. The owner/driver of the bus took it upon himself to take care of this gentlemen. The paranoia was running rampant. He ran to the back of the bus and grabbed his "Buster Beater", a 34" aluminum baseball bat brought to us by the good folks at Louisville Slugger.

The whole scene of what was to be flashed before me in my head as he pulled out the bat. The driver would go outside and give this guy a good old-fashioned talking to with his aluminum friend and then the cops would show up. The driver would be arrested and the bus searched. The police would wonder why a group of good American citizens would need to have about a pound Humbolt Green, several bottles of prescription pain-killers and muscle relaxers that didn't have anybody's name that was present on them and an assortment of loaded pistols and rifles. With any luck we would spend a couple of days in jail and get out just in time to find out we were kicked off the tour. If we were unlucky we'd spend a good portion of the remainder of our young lives in federal prison where the smaller men in our troupe would be repeatedly sodomized while the larger of us would end up peddling their services for cigarettes. The situation was be grim at best.

I couldn't let this happen. I couldn't see our lives crushed so quickly. If we were going to lose out on everything we had hoped for it would be done the old-fashioned way. By being dropped by the record label with no notice or ounce of common human respect. This is what eventually happened but I will get into that at another date.

I took it upon myself to stop the driver from playing part in our self-destruction. I jumped in front of him before he reached the door and said that if he would give me a chance to talk to the guy and get him to go away without having to explore the inner reaches of his cranium it would probably be best for all of us.

Before he could answer I had gotten outside and shut the door behind me. The offender was in his mid-fifties and I outweighed him by about 100 pounds so I wasn't too concerned about what he could do to me if we ended up in a scuffle. I also knew that if he was there to cause real trouble or pulled a gun there were a few people watching from the windows with the aforementioned sports gear.

It turns out the guy was a friendly drunk and didn't mean any harm. He kept saying that he was our "biggest fan" and that he has "loved Alan Jackson for years" and what a pleasure it was to finally meet us all in person. I tried to explain to the guy that we weren't Alan Jackson's band and he surely was mistaken but he would hear none of it. He regaled me for about ten minutes straight about how we are his favorite band of all time, even better than Journey. I couldn't stop him and knew it was futile to try to send him on his way. I have been to that special kind of drunk that knows no limit or decency myself so I just let him ramble on a bit.

I could hear from inside that the gang was getting restless to get into the hotel. We hadn't showered in a few days and the thought that this old drunk redneck was hindering the progress wasn't entertaining for long. If the band left the bus this guy would go on all night about his favorite songs that we had never played. I started pacing around the lot a bit hoping that he would walk with me trying to keep my attention. It worked. He kind of followed me around and I got him to follow me to the edge of the parking lot. I switched gears on the guy and patted him on the back and said it was nice talking to him and I was sorry that he had to go but I knew he had someplace to be. He took the bait and said "Oh yeah, me too. Sorry but I gotta be somewhere so take care all right?". I couldn't believe it worked, he actually thought that he had been explaining that he had to leave. Just as I was congratulating myself on my genius plan and flawless execution he grabbed me and hugged me. I figured, OK, this is weird but no big deal just a friendly goodbye and he's on his way. To my surprise he started sucking on my neck... I grabbed his shirt and pushed him away from me, my fist was balled and my arm ready to send this guy into next month. Just as I was about to cave this guys noggin in a bright light blinded me. The police had pulled into the parking lot and were shining heir floodlight on us.

I didn't know what to do, there were about a hundred different things I could have done at that moment that could have sent us all up the river and one thing that would hopefully end this night without further incident. Its hard to explain the mix of surprise, fear, anger, violation, violence and restraint I was experiencing at the same time. Its hard to not hit a man when everything in your being was prepared to. But if I hit this guy we probably get searched and end up like the plan I described above. No good for anyone.

The cops called the guy by name and tell him that he was told he needed to go home and they weren't going to warn him again. I guess they deal with this guy on a fairly regular basis. They thought the whole story was kind of funny when I explained what had happened. At the end of the day they didn't give a rat's ass that the town drunk was out gumming stranger's necks like some octogenarian vampire, they were just happy that they didn't need to file any paperwork. The two cops left and told me to say hello to Alan Jackson for them. When I got back in the trailer everyone was busting up. I didn't say a single word. I just took the room key from our tour manager and took the longest shower of my life. I couldn't get clean enough. You would think that this would be the end of strange events for the evening but the insanity was just starting.

The Xanax and Darvocet began to set in while I was in the shower. We had only left Los Angeles two days before and I had already had a run in with the law, a nearly devastating hangover from drinking until sunrise the first night with our Keyboard player, been sexually assaulted, and been refused service at a waffle house at two in the morning for disorderly conduct. Waylon wasn't joking when he asked "Are you sure Hank done it this way?"

But Waylon was nowhere to be found on this cold and hapless night in the marrow of Americas structure. He was resting across the great divide and laughing at us, and others like us, in search of some new twisted American dream. Scouring the shadows of greatness we were lost and forgotten in, on this desolate highway. Blinded by night and occasionally crashing into one another like bumper cars being driven by a crew of deaf and dumb sociopaths.

To be continued upon request...
