Rose not sure her text to me said 'if I find something cheap enough to go somewhere for a weekend will you go?'
Cooter. I def want to do the cruise, just waiting till I can squeeze that out of my tight budget. On a diff note Cooter don't wanna pry, but you ok I read your post about being in the hospital. I vaguely remember you being there b4.

I highly recommend San Diego! It's close, it's beautiful, scenic, weather is great and there is TONS to do. I also REALLY REALLY recommend getting your room on Priceline. Bid for a 3 1/2 star hotel at $79. Every time I do this they give me a 4-star hotel at that price. I usually start out at $75 for my bid and then they reject that and then let me rebid or rebid the next day. I'v ended up in 2 AMAZING hotels in San Diego recently.

If you DO go to San Diego, I recommend Double Duece(s) bar for goin out and dancing and whatnot. There's normally a $10 cover to get in. There are several rooms, one with Karoake, one with country, and one with hip hop (can upstairs is a stripper pole). There's also a bull you can ride one. Rich and I went last weekend and had a BLAST! So much fun watching girls get drunk and do the stripper pole. Some of them were actually REALLY good. Like too good for it to be their first time trying it, lol.

Dayummmm chev I had no idea that bar was so fun, and I've lived in this town since 1991....never been to that one. Now I wanna go. Anybody here headed down into my neck of the woods anytime soon who would want to be seen in public with me?

oh and I suppose I should remind those who might want to come down to visit me that I have a guest room at my place, so a hotel room wouldn't be necessary.

Our getaway is to the HOliday Inn Express in Palm Springs... it's like a 5 star hotel.. so nice... all the rooms surround the pool area, cocktails by the pool all day and a restaurant, all inclusive and they do a blow up movie screen at the pool at night... such a good time.. about $135 a night... Nicest Holiday Inn Express I've ever seen...

Being seen with such a fun gal like yourself is actually a privilege. I had an awesome time with you and would be honored to do it again.

I don't know I can get very rowdy. You may wanna rethink your offer. hehe ;)

Temecula is fun too and not a terribly expensive weekend... Wine tasting at the nearby wineries, and Stampede for some nighttime fun. The old town has some fun little shops for the day, and some good restaurants.
Just throwing out another idea. :)
Oh, and I need to go to that place in San Diego! I've heard of it before but don't think I've been there yet?!!

yeah, just a normal admission as part of my lung disease...usually go in 3-4 times a year and with a hawaii vacation next week i wanted to get in and make sure i was healthy for the trip. most times i would wait until i was a little sicker to go in, but not this time.
did find out they are enrolling patients in a new study medication that may possibly correct the gene defect of cystic fibrosis and that i qualify for it. would basically stop the progression of the disease which is kinda the light at the end of the tunnel those of us with the disease have been hoping for for so long...never expected a cure in my lifetime, so if this works it will be a miracle and i expect a nobel prize for whoever created it, dammit! of course, the damage that has already been done will remain, but i would be totally fine if it meant no more hospitals, no more surgeries, etc. although i have no idea what i would do with myself if i wasn't sick any more. it is honestly kind of scary to think about since cf has been a part of my life since being diagnosed at 6 years old(although no symptoms until i was 14).

Cooter..that is awesome you are qualified to be in the research! I pray it works. I think I have mentioned before that my family has been involved with Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many many years, back to the Angels games with Rod Carew (sp) and Reggie.... and my family being on the "Sixty-five roses" boards through them. My family raced off road for years donating and matching all winning to the cause so it is dear to our hearts. We always pray for a cure for this horrible disease. Hang in there, it may be here in your life time!!
