Is it cheap there and is that close to the venue? I have never been to this venue so I have no clue what is close I looked on the website and I found a Best Western that was close by other than that I had no clue where else to stay

Get a room on priceline. Pick $79 as your room rate and choose a 3-star. You can pick the areas you are willing to stay in SD but nothing is really too far out of the way. I highly recommend gaslamp although you'll pay lots for parking. I found a place for $15 a night rather than the $30 at the hotel. I got a 4-star hotel for $79 a night, totally worth it!

I don't recommend staying in Chula Vista....it's pretty ghetto. I'd drive a bit and stay in Downtown or Hotel Circle area.

KL & IHML ~ what was your drive like on Sat.? I left Torrance @ 2 pm and got there @ 6 pm!!! Took 4 hrs. to drive 128 miles!!!! Bumper to bumper the entire way!!!!! :eek::mad:

yeah my friend came from Fullerton and it took her 4 hours to get there too. We left Riverside and took the 15 and we were there in about 2 hours. Our drive was about 116 miles. Trace was well worth it though he ROCKED!!!!

By the way girls we stayed in Otay Valley and I was apprehensive since it was so close to the border but our rooms were really nice we stayed at comfort suites in otay valley only 6 miles from the venue and the rooms were only $69 a night just for future reference.

That's awesome if you're a big fan but the double sucky part is I'm not really a fan but a friend of mine got me a ticket to celebrate our birthdays and I didn't have the heart to tell her......

I was talked into going for a similar reason. My friend is a HUGE Toby fan and I had no one to go to Country Throwdown with, so we each went for eachother. But, Toby won me over - it was such a blast! From Simi it took us 4 hours to get to SD (left at noon), then another 20-30 to the venue from my aunts in SD.

We left Torrance at noon and didn't get to the Old Town area (where we had lunch) until 3:30. It was utterly ridiculous!! I lived in San Diego for school for 4 years so I went back and forth to Torrance quite often. I NEVER had traffic like we did on Saturday!

Yeah - I'm definitely more of a Toby fan than Trace, but the last time I saw Toby it was front row/center! (A friend in the entertainment business got tickets) So back on the lawn just wasn't quite the same :p But hey ~ still had fun! Got up the next morning and went on a 2 hr trail ride ~ absolutely beautiful day!

I was a total grouch by the time we finally got to the venue. RIDONKULOUS!!!! (So glad I don't have a stick-shift car anymore! lol)

The show was great though... My mom got to drool over her man Trace, even though he didn't have his hair pulled back, as she'd prefer!!! :)
