It's in Reedley and is about a 3-4 hour drive. Mapquest says it's 4 hours from my house in Costa Mesa, so I would guess that it's about 3 hours from yours?? Just mapquest Reedley. I'll probably request that Friday off of work now so I can drive up early and hang out in the river.

Last year when I went tubing for Memorial Day, a bunch of us bought tubes together online and we got a huge discount for the group rate. This sounds like a fun adventure. I have to admit, my idea of camping is a hotel room or a fully stocked RV. looks I need some quick lessons in "real" camping!

I am not that outdoorsy of a person either, but for some reason end up on 2 or 3 camping trips a year. My best advice is to get really drunk the whole time, then you can tolerate anything the outdoors has to provide.

Have you ever taken that tube on a lazy river? They can get pretty shallow in places and I'm guessing the big bertha is, well, pretty big. It may not do so well on this kind of thing.

I think it's ok, but I read that you should add an extra hour float time for a huge raft. Not sure how that works though since we're gonna all be tied together anyhow!

The other one you posted is probably okay, but how in the world could you possibly think this would not be too big? It might actually be too wide to fit in the river, but we could use it as a bridge if necessary.

This will work, but look on their website. They even SELL 4 man rafts. If you have a bigger one (like 2 man which is what my friend who goes every year recommends) you can keep your ish in there too.

Ok, so I went on Amazon and just bought the double tube raft with the cooler in the middle, two extra floating coolers, and floating beer pong triangles (not the huge raft, just the triangles that hold the cups, had good reviews). ALL for $45.00 cuz I applied for the Amazon credit card and got free shipping as well on all of it. Not too bad for more than $100 worth of stuff! Already have my waterproof iPod speaker. I am almost set! Uh, except for booking my trip that is, lol. Doin that tomorrow.

But there is a tag along raft that holds our stuff?? OR do we need to carry our own stuff...drinks,camera,suntan lotion, chapstick...SQUIRT GUN!! ...etc. If so, Karena the one you ordered from Amazon sounds cool.... send link if you have it.
I haven't even begun to think of the camping necessities.. ugh. Karena, you up for planning and organizing the camping for all of us?? lol

Sure! Let me get past May first though, lol. Ok, floating is 4-6+ hours, and we stop along the beaches apparently. No, there is no tag along raft, use plastic bags in conjunction with floating coolers for those items that can't get wet.

Yeah, and that particular ice chest is like a nylon bag, but the reviews were great, and it also lifts out of the floatie for easy carry with a shoulder strap. I thin kI'll use the cooler in the center of my raft for my iPod speaker. It's waterproof but I don't think it can be completely submersed!

I've only ever done solo rafting, but you typically tie everyone's rafts together with rope (it's mellow, no currents) so you're not really moving anyhow.

Oh, and just a heads up, my friend who is orgnanizing all of this, Gigi, DOES like country. Not sure about all the friends going with her though. It's gonna be a variety of music I'm sure :)

And yes, Brad's "Water" song is perfect for this venture!

6 person tent isn't too much, perfect for 2 people with air mattresses, that's what me and my friend are using.

Haha, Roy and adam will kill me if I retell this story in it's entirety, but let's just say that Heather is probably the worst human being I know, what she did and said is unforgivable, and if you are her friend on Fb and would be so kind as to delete her, that would be awesome. I'm changing my locks at my house today. On the bright side, I have my house back. It was left a disaster except my living room strangely. Even my bed was 3 feet away from the wall with sheets and blankets and remotes everywhere, about 15 towels in my bathtub, and counters are disgusting. I have a lot of work to do this weekend to get it together again. Thinking of seriously having an all girl cleaning party this weekend, booze provided, just to get my house and life back. How one human being can behave like she has is beyond me.

That raft looks PERFECT. Gigi said you can bring an extension cord, not sure if that means there's electricity but I assume so. And LMAO Roy, you are too cute! Lockers? Seriously? I have a camping grill, I need to find time to go to Home Depot and get some mini-propane tanks. Sort of every man for himself, but we can organize some stuff on here. I was planning on bringing extra stuff to cook for people. I'm REALLY hurtin for money right now, so if we all wanna pitch in to get stuff, that's great! I have a griddle and can make breakfast burritos, etc. Burgers, baked potatoes, etc. I go all out for camping, lol.

I also found my electric pump, but everyone bring one if you have one. The batteries run out quick on those.

Crystal, Rich has an extra tent so you can use one of his or mine, depending on how we all fit. Uh oh...I'm gonna be sharing a tent with this guy...hoping he doesn't want to "snore"......

the burgers is a good idea, always easy to cook a lot at once and everyone wil be happy. i'm not to keen on hot dogs personally.
