I know we've been talking about concerts, OTL, etc already, but I thought I'd just start this up for summer topics that might not be big enough to require their own thread.

Awesome idea! Hey, does anyone want to go see Barenaked Ladies on Thursday, July 22 at The Greek?

are you having a conversation with one of your other personalities again? ...dang you're witty.
good thread. we need some new threads so we can quit bashing on people, unless they piss us off.

hahahaha - I love that feiny started the thread then was the first to respond..... :)
General summer plans? Here are a couple of mine....
AVP comes to the beach cities by us - fun day at the beach to drool over yummy volleyball players. Thank you to IHML and her sister for getting me hooked.
Concerts as usual - 311/Offspring is one that I doubt will be mentioned elsewhere. And Green Day (my sister and her hubby are taking my nephews to that one - their first real concert - they're 13 and 9) - should be fun!
Vacation to Texas - adding a few days on to my Labor Day weekend to go visit my cousins and a friend who live out near the Dallas area (any suggestions of "must see" places?)

Soo, uhh, I'll be in Michigan from June 19-Aug 1. I'm hoping and praying some students want to go to Tom Petty in Detroit so I can chaperone them! Then Toby in SD the first weekend I'm back!

Another awesome concert would be Gipsy Kings Friday, July 16 at Mandalay Bay on the beach in Vegas. Anyone interested in that? I might make my way to Vegas that weekend for it.

LOL Adam! Offspring I would LOVE to see again. I've seen them 3x now and they are my FAV rock band.
Texas must do is Austin! It's about a 3 hour drive from Dallas but oh so worth it. LOVE Texas! I seriously would move there if I could.
Gypsy Kings I've heard of recently. What kind of music are they?
So remember last year I mentioned Kelly Beach (the tubing/camping trip)? well my friends are doin it again this year, and I'm actually going this time. I think we're doing it the weekend of July30th-Aug 1st. Anyone interested? It's pretty inexpensive I think.

No, that is the same Gipsy Kings. They're not exactly the country genre (or even close) but still awesome. They're also playing at the Greek the 17th and 18th of July for those that don't want to travel, but I think it would be a lot of fun to head to Vegas for the show on the beach if anyone else is interested.

I *think* it's like either $15 bucks a day or per person, and $20 for the bus (that takes you tubing). IDK, less that $100 for sure. And peeps (yes I said it) can carpool up there, it's a bit of a drive.

The Sixth Annual Battle of the Mariachis Festival
San Juan Capistrano Mission
11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
http://www.missionsjc.com/activities/signature_MariachiBattle.php
I hope to go to this for a couple hours in the morning cuz i know theyll put on a good show and the food has to be great. I might have been the only person blasting mariachi at stagecoach the past two years and I got a lot of strange looks from the freshly clothed "Boot Barn Bros" when it came on the shuffle que and i turned it up as loud as possible.

I thought I would bury this invite in this thread for the SCMB locals (yeah, if your reading this in mid May, your a SCMB local) We are going to spend the afternoon at the beach this Saturday and any of you are welcome to come down and join us. It will be more of a family style BBQ/Beach thing with kids playin in the sand and somewhat responsible "Adults" (Definately not like Ragecoach, but we will still fire up the margarita machine for a couple cold ones). If your open in the afternoon come down and dont be a stranger. If youve stopped by my camp at stagecoach then you know what to look for. Below is copied from our Evite...
Another family beach day at Bolsa Chica State Beach in HB. We will be going down to the beach again with the RV and W.T. BBQ trailer this Saturday May 22 around 2pm. We will have the BBQ fired up and eating around 5pm and probably wrap things up around 7pm. Most of you know the drill, but for those who don’t… Bring your bike if you wanna take a ride, bring some towels and beach toys, your own chairs, a sweatshirt/jacket if it gets windy or overcast. The weather forecast looks good and hopefully by 2pm any overcast will burn off. Let us know if your coming so we can coordinate enough food and drinks and stuff. Johnny is going to do a huge Louisiana Style Crab Boil (Crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage, artichokes, peppers, etc…) If you don’t want some of the boil bring something else to throw on the grill. Hope to see you there!
We will be near Lifeguard Tower 23, north of the entry kiosk. Cost is $15 for day use parking.

I won't have my kiddo this weekend unfortunately. Any other SCMB regulars wanna join me? We can carpool to save on parking....
