I can go with Foxworthy! I hate Larry the Cable Guy because have you ever seen his stand-up from before he was "Larry the Cable Guy"? He's NOT funny, has NO accent, and is just eh, average. I don't like that he's a big fake basically. I DO however say "Git Er Done" a lot.....

What about Rodney Carrington if you want country commedians. He plays the guitar and is the funiest guy out there! (ok maybe not so "family friendly" but...) They really should throw a comedic act in, maybe that could be the friday night show... all comedians. Or at least for 30min or so on Sat/Sun while the headliner sets up. Screw that mumbling auctioneer.

Seriously!!! I HATE the auctions in between!! They should have a SILENT Auction!!!

If they didn't have the auctions, you would be just waiting anyway as they change over the stage for the next performer. It is a time filler....and for a good cause. I wanted to bid, but dammmmmm they went high!! Guess I need to win the lottery.

caligirlUCR
05-03-2010, 02:28 PM
They should have local comedins or something in between . . . but not that they really need anything . . . the inbetween are when u talk to ur friends, go to the bathroom, or get food anyways.

Rascal Flatts

Alan Jackson
Jimmy Buffet
Alison Krauss
Bonnie Raitt
Courtyard Hounds
Zac Brown Band
Martina Mcbride
Leann Rimes
Loggins & Messina
Charlie Daniels
I know they can't all headline, just some of the people I would enjoy seeing. Those could say that Jimmy Buffet is not country but many artists are crossing that bridge and besides, his music is all about party which is what Stagecoach is all about.

And as far as my wanting to see Loggins & Messina there and for those of you who were not or are not familar with their very early work, (I've seen them many, many times), they had a definate southern country rock theme and I dare anyone to not dance around to, "Your Mama Don't Dance and Your Daddy Don't Rock & Roll!" They started touring together again after a long absence and they are better than ever.

And perhaps some of the comedians listed here to perform during the set changes might be a nice touch?

Country Smuntry....1/2 the artists at SC are not considered true Country Music. Bring on the good stuff PERIOD. I saw Kenny Loggins at the Hollywood Bowl and he was GREAT. Even the "hard rock only" date I had LOVED him. I wore that t-shirt into the festival on day one this year and the guy who sold me my SC t-shirt made a comment on how good Kenny is.

"i like my women like i like my chicken" ok for any one recomending comedy and saying rodney you got to give him his whole show that is one act your getting screwed on if you only give him 30 minutes between acts. and yes his show was not very family friendly but the best stand up i have ever seen.

You guys have already listed all the greats! I'd love to see so many of them - especially Alison Krauss, Garth, Jake Owen, Miranda Lambert, etc.

On the smaller stages though, I'd also like to see some people that haven't gotten as much play time lately but are still doing great work - like Ray Scott. Old-time country right there...

Since when are you country? Bon Jovi put out that song with Jennifer Nettles and their most recent album had a video on CMT and GAC. They have more country songs than you and just as many as Kid Rock.

bree621
05-20-2010, 10:14 AM
Haha, Kid Rock performed at SC and sure as hell isn't country! Just like every other artist out there, Bon Jovi is trying to make it on to the country scene. They did put out a country CD and personally I thought it was awesome! As for everyone else... eh, not so much. There aren't many more BIG name artists that can be a headliner for SC unless we start bringing in some of the main acts from the past years.

Garth Brooks
Luke Bryan
Rodney Atkins
George Strait
Alan Jackson
Eric Church
Gary Allan
Chris Young (Probably wont come, he's doing Go Fest this year If I do remember correctly, I will not be attending, I have to work alot of shifts to clear my vacation for Stagecoach)
Martina Mcbride would be good
Josh Turn
Josh Thompson is a personal favorite pick
Justin Moore, though I'll be seeing him with Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker
Carrie Underwood isnt half bad, to broaden the male to female ratio
Blake Shelton would be good.

Craig Morgan
Trace Adkins
Dierks Bentley

But lets face it, those last three are doing Wagon Wheel this year, and chances are, I wont be able to attend, trucks getting some extensive work done through out october and november, and the trailer needs some attention. I dont believe they will do Wagon Wheel and then come back for SC11.

There are more I would love to see as well, and I WILL be adding to my list as I think of them.

Oh boy! Steel Magnolia....now they are good. And who DOESN'T like Darius?

Yep, they were good at The Mint. Darius, that would be cool, but dang, I guess I expected a way way better of a line up for SC!! Yep, I am a downer again. Just looks like the line up from 2008. Hopefully they are adding some more big names. I can only pray for that.

I do like some of the old school names...that's cool :)

From the way it looks there are really only three headlines for the two days. That means one on Saturday and two on Sunday??? Carrie puts on a show but it mostly a sit down and listen kind of show. Makes me wonder if this year is worth going. Not impressed.

I don't get it. I've gone every year and other than '08, this lineup is probably the best. And it might just be that '08 was longer. What's wrong with the lineup? So many great acts.

I don't think I am going to go this year! I thought I would never say that. But opening day for the Sierra's for fishing sounds more fun.

As soon as I opened the list, I had no excitement at all!!! With all the huge artists out there, why all the repeats on the main stage over and over and over??

Maybe that is why, cuz this is almost 08 repeated.

I have gone every single year, and there are less and less names, as well as # of artists.

Yeah..but there are tons of NEW artists out. They may have new albums, but they only play 3 songs off of them, and the rest of the show is usually old stuff.

No way, there are not more this year. over 35 for 2008 alone. about the same for 09

Don't think I'll be going this year, just an OK line-up. Why all of the repeats, Kenny has been their what two times and both times he either was in a bad mood or he was sick, don't really want to see him again. Nothing really jumps out and says ok I can live with that because I would like to see this. I know that it has alot to do with who is in this area on tour and all but. Nothing to get excited about like the first and second years. To bad I was hoping for another great event.

I like the line up, but agree about the repeats and the very SLIM line-up. Also, was not impressed with Kenny the last go round. Now the first year was incredible with Kenny so maybe he is coming to pay people back for disappointing us last time. Hopefully he won't play Vegas the night before...... Hopefully they will add to this. Those VIP tickets are expensive. Totally excited to see Carrie Underwood again.

MAYBE if they lower the camping to 1/2 the price, then MAYBE...but probably not!! lol

I'm done too. SC has been fun but last year I was already complaining about not going this year and the lineup was the last straw. I have already seen these artists from one time or another. Why on earth would I pay a s#!% ton of money to go see them again. Why because they have one more album? Amongst other things, it gets too crowded and SC doesn't cap it off. In the end GA is the worst place to be. 2007 and 2008 were a blast but the lineup isnt enough for me. Kenny Chesney=throw up in my mouth...
I am just glad Kimmy isnt here to see this catastrophe of a lineup!

The trip of my life does not include not being able to see even a screen of the performers, having people step on all of my stuff as they stand on MY blanket when I've been sitting in that spot for HOURS, having angry drunk people yell when I ask them nicely to step of my stuff, paying hundreds of dollars for an RV that I have to share with a ton of people. I see my SC friends all year round...I don't have to see them only on a weekend in April/May. I think I'll take my money that I would spend on SC and go sit on a nice sandy, warm beach, sipping cocktails and enjoying life.

Every year when the gates open my friends and I walk in and set up chairs in the spot we want and lay down a few blankets. Then we leave and go back to our RV. We come back later on when better bands/artists go on.

Maybe you're just high strung and don't know how to have a good time. I don't know. Either way, with you not going, that is just 1 spot closer for my RV to the gates. And with a name like IheartMillerLite, maybe you're the drunk person standing on others blankets.

Well, it seems most of the complaints about the lineup are because people have seen those acts before, which is good. At least it's not a bunch of no-names stagecoach could try to get to make money off of the festivals reputation. Look at the lineup, those are the biggest names in Country Music, regardless is you like them or not. To use the excuse, "I've already seen them" is not a reason to bash Stagecoach. There are other concerts and events you could attend that have various artists if you don't like the ones you have here.

Thanks Rose. I'm not bashing the concert. I just didn't have a good time last year with the amount of people, the heat, just everything. So since I'm not SUPER excited over the line-up, I'll just choose who I want to see and where.

I agree that every year people complain about the line ups, but at least their is plenty of good to off set the bad...but this year, ughhhh, people who are dedicated are actually backing out, that speaks for itself. I don't want "exact" artists, just new ones to SC....or at least 4 years ago not two.

I think it is different this year for many of us who just don't want to keep seeing the same acts over and over at SC. I know...they have to be in the area and want to perform, but really, are these the only ones ever in the area? hahaha

And as everyone knows. Rascal Farts but the nail in the coffin for me. UKNOWME said it best :) Didn't like them there couple years ago, didn't like them at GoFest...still don't. (ducking again)

would you guys go to the CMA festival every year?
at that it is the same artists every year, for the most part.
it's country music in the California desert... what more could you ask for?!
Exactly. Between Stagecoach and CMA Fest every year I've seen EVERYONE a gazillion times. But I will keep going because I always have a blast. When it stops being FUN I'll stop going.

For me it's the other way around. I go to the festivals regardless because the experience is priceless. Then (this past week excluded) I skimp on individual concerts. It's hard for me to get too jazzed about individual concerts thanks to all the festivals.

So if I go to an individual concert it's either because I REALLY REALLY like the performer or I get cheapie seats just to go for kicks.

Thats the way I see it too. I have been every year and have never left wishing I hadn't spent the money on it. At the end of the day, being there with people you know and some new friends is worth it... I know we all like to complain when its not the EXACT names we want to see but it all adds up to be a blast!

Regardless of lineup, everyone is right... Stagecoach is an amazing festival and I must give it to the promoter because it's no small task to put on a show that big! Much respect for that... I also know that if people want to complain, let them. It's good feedback for the promoter... No one should be telling people to not say anything bad, they can say whatever they want... On that note... most of us will still end up going... Good excuse to party! lol

Very true, that's what helps the promotors know what the public likes. Freedom of speech and how we feel about the performers.

Me and my group had a long discussion over lunch this afternoon (just got back to the house) and we all agreed that this year is a no-go. We are just too tired to go with the flow. Like my good buddy Kymery said, at least in the past SC off set the good with the bad or as I say 'repeating'. The weekend partying is always a blast but not worth the money. I just saw RF, and Underwood this month here in SD. Its sad really, this festival has a lot of potential and its a real let down that they just repeat repeat repeat.

highly doubtful. this festival will continue to pull huge numbers without much of a problem, imo. for every person that decides not to go there will be one who decides to go for the first time. i personally know several already who will be making their inaugural trip out.

and it's funny, so many on the coachella message board ripped on the coachella lineup last year and yet it was the most crowded it has ever been. many times these message boards are not representative of the general population.

only 301 active users on this board and maybe 100 lurkers...with that said we are a very small number that post rather than attend. Like the line-up or hate it, many festivals DREAM of having these kind of numbers attend especially in this economy the last couple of years.

Careful there, Even Rome fell... You can never get too big to stop caring or thinking you don't need to worry about what others think... Nothing is too large or too huge to fail. You have to keep it fresh, because I've learned over my lifetime that a negative word travels 10 x faster than positive words... Booking is no easy task, so i understand that being that I do that for a living, but at the same time, you must continue to surprise people, not just do the same ol same ol... I think that's a valid point...

ok . .. just getting all caught up . . .

The line-up for me is ehhh it seems kinda like a recap of what concerts we all went to in the past two years lol . . . so that means its not a bad line-up . . . its just that for us "regulars" we have seen many or all of the headliners.

I agree that you don't go to SC just for the music, but the overall experience. So I am definitely in! And I really hope that some of u regulars that have decided not to go will change your minds - because we will miss u!!! If there is one or two acts that u really dont want to see maybe u should still come and do something else during that set - especially if they are the last act then u can go back to the rvs and warm up the party for the rest of us!!

And yes IHML luckily we do get to see each other out of SC now thanks in part to these boards - but SC is tradition its when we wear our matching shirts :0)

I just really hope that some of u try to reconsider - cuz again we will miss ya!!!

Very true, and I think taking a poll of scmb would be a pretty accurate pole. Maybe even better, considering we are usually the dedicated ones. To think we are not a true indication of how people feel in the masses is crazy. There are many people posting on FB that I never even knew went to SC stating the same things as on here. Good and bad.

It is soooo true that negative flows downhill faster than positive.

I agree with Cooter. From what I can tell, there are only 10-20 people that post on these boards regularly. That is a far cry from the 50,000+ different people that attended last year. I don't understand how you can claim this board would be a fair survey.

For all you people claiming to jump ship and go to WWF to save money. Not much logic in that. You are basically paying the same price for everything for the weekend. And with only 11 bands with not 1 of them that can measure up to the SC headliners, seems a bit silly to me. No knock on WWF, I would have a great time. But again, not for the music, for the weekend experience and party.

If you want to go to WWF over SC because you have "been there, done that", that's fine. Just don't claim it's because the SC lineup sucks when it's far superior to the WWF one.

Can we just agree to disagree? SC is far from "jumping the shark" and WWF is just coming out of the gate....

Economic times and personal tastes are fueling the decision to not go to SC, at least for me. If I have $1000 to spend, I'd rather use it for a week by a pool than going to SC for the weekend to see 2 acts that draw my attention this year.

SC *is* an experience - but to each his/her own.

I agree... WWF shouldn't even be compared to Stagecoach anyways, it's nothing near the same... WWF is in a stadium, max capacity 15,000 vs. the polo field where it's probably 75,000 people capacity per day. WWF is put on by a family run company, we are not some huge corporate entity... Our budget is no where near Livenation, AEG, etc... They are both fun festivals and I will most likely be attending stagecoach too... Stagecoach is a great festival... At the end of the day, it's music, it's partying and it's fun and you can do both at both events!! =)

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you like it or not, they will be compared for a few reasons. The are close in proximity, both are country festivals, both are weekend events, and both are about the same cost.

I personally enjoyed WWF better late year because it is more of an intimate experience. But still at the end of the day, Las Vegas is pretty fun. And IMO, SC is like Vegas.

My mistake, I was only taking into account GA pricing. (I would never imagine paying $799 for a ticket to a show. Thus why I have never looked at premium pricing for either festival.) Yes the premium pricing is a vast difference. And if you are choosing WWF premium seats over SC premium seats due to cost, that is extremely understandable. I personally would rather be with the true fans, who the vast majority cannot afford the premium seats.

ONCE AGAIN YOUR OUT OF LINE THE GREAT PART ABOUT WWF IS THAT THE REAL FANS LIKE ME AND MY FRIENDS CAN AFFORD TO BE UP FRONT AND SEE GREAT ARTIST UP CLOSE NOT ON A TV SCREEN FROM A 1/2 MILE AWAY THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT SO GREAT AND YET YOU STILL GET THE GREAT PARTY ATMOSPHERE. Once again, I'm not out of line. My comparison was to GA prices which are the same. And if you need to be a 16 year old girl at a Justin Beiber concert, up front screaming with your shirt off, trying to get a program signed, that's your problem. Holy thread batman! I go to Disneyland for ONE day....

So actually I haven't even looked at the line-up. I go because it's fun. I can't even see the performers. I, like Mr. Psycho, pick the artists I LOVE to see individually throughout the year. I'm at SC for the party!

Ms. Loretta Lynn...why do I have the feeling that she will be closing as headliner on the smaller stage??? She is the reason to go to SC11 JMO

I agree with Cooter. From what I can tell, there are only 10-20 people that post on these boards regularly. That is a far cry from the 50,000+ different people that attended last year. I don't understand how you can claim this board would be a fair survey.

...

If you want to go to WWF over SC because you have "been there, done that", that's fine. Just don't claim it's because the SC lineup sucks when it's far superior to the WWF one.

This is a fact. We here are jaded.

Every friend I know who wants to go to SC and isn't on this board is psyched about the lineup. I tell them I think it's mediocre. They tell me I'm crazy. True story.

Same thing happened to me. A lot of my friends are stoked to go. I looked like I had two heads on my shoulders when I spoke my opinion.
