We came with 10 people this year.... (Second year attending)....
Clearly the people in charge of organizing VIP dont buy tickets to concerts...

When you spend 500-750 per person per ticket you want to watch the show... and or enjoy VIP treatment.... WHO was in charge of putting 2000 restrooms in VIP and 2 bartenders??????? I personally went to go enjoy music and be able to enjoy drinking without having to worry about getting on the Road after the event....

Due to a poor choice this year (unlike last year) of having only 2 bartenders, the line was no less than 30 minutes each time you went to get a drink... (WHO needs restrooms if you cant drink)... 101 business.. drinks bring in cash... Pay the damm fee for 10 people and let your customers spend their money!!!! it was horrible..... both days ... I Was sober and watched the show... Took too darn long to get a beer!! way to go bean counters...

Yeah, VIP SUCKED EGGS! food was poor and the lines were horrible Saturday, but that was because they let in blue bands, color blind security. Sunday they got their crap kinda together.

I waited 35 minutes for a beer!!!!

Thanks for the tip - NO VIP 2011.

If it weren't for the awesome seats, I would also say screw VIP, NOT worth it, but the seats are. They need to revert back to previous years in the VIP (remember I am not talking the GA VIP area)

Also, they need to educate the security on what the color BLUE is on a band!!! And if they are color blind, they need to READ the band!! Says VIP1:mad:

I was in sec.5 1st row, my seat was awesome, but by the time I walked to the other side of VIP, stood in line, then fought my way back through the swarm of people blocking the entrance..my beer was already gone! I really hope they fix this next year! Plus I had the fire department in front of me saying it was ok to stand and some bitchy security lady yelling at me to sit. If I sat, people who were not suppose to be there would run up and stand in front of me. Not to mention I had a meet & greet w/Toby but security led me on a wild goose chase because they had NO idea where I needed to go. I ended up missing all of Brooks & Dunn and missed my meet & greet.

Your whole story sucks. You are owed an apology if not more.

I agree this year that VIP was nothing more than a $500.00 chair. From what I understand the ticket sellers sold a RED BAND this year that were allowed in the VIP area because it was the only place that sold mixed drinks. The VIP area was so packed on Sat night you could not walk through to get a drink or use restrooms. There were so many people in there that were "SETTING UP CAMP" to watch the shows from inside the area because they did not have seats. This was my 3rd festival and the other 2 years that I attended in VIP the area was awesome. This year was far from VIP treatment.

One other concern that I had was when people paid the amount of money for a 20x50 camping spot, $750-$850 - last year you had to have a camping band to get into the camping area. This year everyone was allowed in and the lines for showers were outragous. Last year we also had an entrance into the festival directly from the camping area. All of these "PERKS" really made it more bang for your buck in the past.

Now as far as improvments to the festival, the way the FIRE LANES were marked off and noone was allowed to set up camp in these lanes did make it easy to get to the VIP section. It seemed that anyone that was in those lanes were moving. This was great compaired to last years sea of people. We were stepping on people and their belongings just to get through.

ARM BAND exchange areas in the camping grounds was great UNTIL they took them away on Saturday Morning. On Thursday the lines were pretty short and seemed to flow well. Should have allowed those areas to continue until at least the opening of the festival on Saturday.

ONE LAST THING - (sorry people) But not to Golden Voice - It would sure be nice to have a ticket system that we could actually CHOOSE OUR SEATS in VIP, not just give us NEXT BEST SEATS according to the computer. Was at Country Thunder in Florence the week prior and was able to choose the seats that I wanted to purchase.

These are all just personal opinions on what might make my experience next year more enjoyable. There has been good and bad in the 3 years I have made it. 2nd year could not make so dont know what they did.

Thank You for listening.

i totally agree with you i also didn't like the fact that there were about 30 bbq people missing this year what happened there? also tshirts why is there not a t shirt that says stagecoach and gives the line up of everyone on it?

I agree, security could NOT get it together about where to go for the meet & greets. I heard this problem more than once from my group!

There were other areas selling mixed drinks. Also, the showers weren't just from random people, it was because there were 7 shower trailers in ONE location for ALL campers (tent, EDI, EDII, International, Stick & Ball...). They should go back to shower trailers for each area. But this wasn't because there weren't wristbands. I think THAT new rule was perfect honestly. I didn't notice any "random" uninvited people in EDII....

Totally agree... VIP was not worth it when we have no choice of food in vip area except pizza and sandwiches and bathrooms so far for $500 each...I agree with kjonzee, about being able to choose your seats. What a disappointment when you buy first day on sale and your seats are right next to the fence of GA.... disappointed and seiously mays may not invest $1,000 dollars next year due to the hassles involved. I hope you see these posts Goldenvoice.
Leaving on good note, loved B&D and Keith Urban especially. Jason and Toby were also great. GA may be the way to go....

I've gotta disagree with that. Yeah the food service in VIP sucked, but the big thing is not only where you sit, but the fact that you have access to the close in area. If you are in GA, you are watching the concert on the screen, not the stage.

Grrr. Do not talk about Stagecoach thermos mugs or t-shirts or hoodies. I never got to do my souvenier shopping this year....

Not sure which I'm more upset about - not getting even remotely buzzed or not getting a souvenier...

They really should have marked VIP P1 and it really didn't need to be that large of an area if you limit it to P1 patrons ONLY (even I got in by mistake). P2 VIP should have a separate area from GA w/VIP. Day one you couldn't get through VIP and they fixed that for day 2 by allowing NO blankets or chairs. Two food choices only (you spoiled us in previous years) with all kinds of choices. Also how about pizza by the slice instead of only whole pizzas. Some people go alone. I ended up going to the bathrooms either to my left (facing stage) which mean't I didn't spend my money to get a drink or hiking it out of VIP and walking over to the bathrooms inbetween the other two stages which never had a line and had TWO airconditioned trailers to choose from. Tighter security in seated areas. SICK of the seat fillers and they are super rude. Need to INFORCE that rule of cannot take seat until AFTER the concert has ended. Too much commotion during the last act.

it's sad that people can't police themselves, that they need an official person to tell them what is ok and what is not even when they know the rules.

Did you ever think that VIP costs so much because when you buy a ticket, you get blown by stagecoach Management? That's quite a perk.

Kymery

BRING BACK THE LANYARDS!! What a pain in the arse when carrying two drinks to have security hold your drinks while you dig your ticket back out, all sweaty in your pocket to show them AGAIN you seat number.

Also, my complaints were for the VIP1 section, not VIP2 sections. That VIP1 area was poor this year for the food and lines, cuz they let everyone in on Saturday.

I had mine from last year... I always bring them... just in case! This year it paid off because yes if I had my hands full they could reach for the ticket.
My daughters didn't bring thiers.. as a matter of fact when they did give the lanyards out they would put them in their purse because it "Wrecked" thier outfits.. and believe me those outfits were planned for at least a week! LOL LOL

Hey all...

I'm new to the forum (I have been lurking a bit and finally registered).

We attended SC this year (for the first time) and bought GA tickets. We were talking about coming VIP next year, but after reading this thread, I am not sure. Unless they fix the problems you all had, I am not sure it is worth the extra money.

I think GA rocked. We waited in NO lines. Seriously, I was shocked, because I expected lines for everything. The longest line had two people ahead of us for drinks, and none for bathrooms.

I was cool with watching on a screen. The first day we had awesome seats in front of a screen. The second day we met up friends who wanted to sit closer so we could see the stage but our view was impaired by foot traffic the entire time, so we could only see if we stood up. But we had fun with all the crazy fun peeps around us and people watching and we did have a screen to the left us that we could see when we wanted.

We can't wait for SC 2011!

My husband and I had GA the first year and have done the VIP ever since. Even with all of the BS of people to trip over sitting on the ground in the VIP concession area it was still nice to have a seat up front to come and go to. I just wish they would set up a GA VIP area so that the VIP eexperience is truly what it should be.

I agree with you KELLY&DAVE! During the last 3 years I have attended SC, the year I sat in GA was my least favorite! Even with the lil kinks that need to be worked out in the VIP lounge... I will always buy a reserved seat! jmo ;)

Anyone who purchased VIP seats last year knows we did not receive the class of service we paid for, and were not treated better than the general admission guests in terms of special resources available to us because we paid extra for them ( well pointed out already by lack of beer/drink lines, worse and less food options than available to general public, etc.) And what about those cheap seats! By the second day, all kinds of people around us were falling though the torn fabric of the "chairs" so poorly constructed that the fabric didn't hold together. It was a drag to have attendants and ushers run back and forth trying to replace those seats after a half hour of complaints from those who fell through. It ruined thsome sets for the rest of us. Don't forget the silly young people employed as ushers up front who wouldn't squat down and blocked the view for the expensive ticket holders. Nor would they stop fooling around rather than being alert for potential problems. Who was in charge of that!?
It doesn't have to happen again.

In terms of admission, let's have an extra, separate VIP line at all the entrances so those who pay don't have to wait an eternity to get in.
We appreciated the wider fire lanes so walking the gauntlet to better food and drink didn't make us feel like we were likely to be pushed over. That's the way to look out for us.

Good treatment doesn't have to cost a lot of money, but it keeps us willing to lay out the money to keep Goldenvoice in business. Show us you care this time and give us back a place to go away from the maddening crowd with good food and drink choices and the leased couches we are paying for. Then we'll pay up once again and make it worth your while.

Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!!!

Yeah...but unfortunately, she has some valid points...food sucked!! first night everyone and their mom was allowed in, 45min for a drink...then cuz they were color blind and could not see our vip bracelets, they shut down the exit from the vip lounge to our seats!! But after a few choice words from me they let me thru. The next night I thanked the bouncers for getting their crap together, they said they had a meeting apparently and that they were sorry and thanked me for complimenting them, and hope they are doing a much better for us.

Chairs did suck! They broke right away! Also, all the NON ticket holders that the bouncers let up front for the whole concert sucked! I saw and overheard them and how they would let certain "little girls" up front, as well as some other concert "regulars". COME ON WE PAID LOTS OF MONEY, THEY DIDNT!!
