:( Does this also include that campers will not be able to go out to their rigs. If it starts at 11am and over at midnight you can't go out to the campground area. That would put a big question on paying the extra (I'm looking at an Extra $465) for the convenince of bringing our rig and paying the $50 per person plus the camping permit. This really needs to be clarified.

trying to find out about that and will post as soon as I do.

i think it would be neat if people were out enjoying all the festival had to offer instead of hanging out at the rv's though. Rv's are the alternative for hotels, not an escape of the fun. at least that's how i see it.

I can't wait to see you all there!

We have an infant child that wont last all day without going back to the RV for a nap and down for the night by 8:30 or so, so we need to be able to go in and out.

I think you are nuts. Not everyone can last all day "enjoying the festival". Some (including me) would like to go back to my camper and sit down for a bit. RV's are not an alternative for a hotel. They are personal areas where you CAN go back and relax before going back to enjoy the fun. It's obvious that you don't have an RV or have enjoyed RVing. The rules that I have been reading set forth by this festival are taking the FUN out of it in the camping area. No one wants to plunk down $300-500 to camp and then get treated like a bunch of prisoners. No this, no that, can't do this, can't do that. It sounds like my husband and I will be camping off site and you can take your on-site camping. We like our alcohol, have pets, no kids and would enjoy a campfire at night to sit around and relax. And it would be nice to go back to our own RV during the day and use our own toilet and not have to stand in line for 10-30 minutes to use a toilet that smells like...well POOP! Again it's obvious that you don't have an RV to enjoy.

I totally understand that. A full day festival is not for everyone.

Countrygurl.. ur NOT nuts (how rude!!)

Thanks for all the information up front.

Good thing we are informed before we purchase our tickets. If you don't like the rules or the prices..... don't come. Some people can't find enough to complain about!!

Here's an alt... come out as couples and rent a condo nearby. The guys can go rough it all day.. and the ladies can come to the fesival later for the headliners... they will be tan and buzzed from sipping marg's at the pool... no worries! I can't wait... thank god for my american express!

Countrygurl - thank you for assisting us here. I REALLY think you are going to need daily access to your RV and particularly since the weather will be warm. The points previously raised, regarding having kids or pets at the RV sites, are very relevant. I hope you and your staff can reconsider

If there are no Ins and Outs, this also means that if you accidently forgot your camera, medicine, cell phone, etc., that you can't go and get it until midnight??? All that has to be done is post 2 employees to check wristbands at the gate of the campground. I don't understand why this is so difficult. People sometimes need a break from the festivities for their kids, I don't see how this can be enforced.
Countrygurl, I hope that this can be figured out prior to the ticket sales for the campground. Thanks for your help.

I totally understand that. A full day festival is not for everyone.

really, we can not go out to our motorhomes all day and night? so do we just have to wait for the concert that we want to see the most? I would like to see most and use my own restroom and not sit in someone elses foul smelling "POOP" that's why i am bringing my elderly parents in the motorhome so they can watch what they want and rest when they need to. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS RIGHT OR NOT.

Festivals are like that. I dont like porto potties either. I personally bring extra napkins. We are waiting to hear back from the authorities about ins/outs for campers.

As far as onsite camping goes, please remember this is just one option. You may also choose to spend the night in a hotel or camping at an offsite campground. I have spent many hours searching the internet to provide lists of both for the website.

An all day festival is an adventure. It may be exhuasting at times but they are always packed with fun and lifetime experiences.

Sure festivals are great. This one just has sooooo many extra rules. Even if you camp, hotel or just drive each day you are so limited. This means only the youngest and strongest may attend. My 70 year old parents who wanted us all to go now it's impossible. They would have seen who they want and then return to their motorhome rested and then we'd go back to the concerts. Now they can not go and they are very dispointed. The way it's set up they would have to wait to go in the see one and then hold out as long as they could and would have to be done.
They go to Bluegrass festivals etc. all the time we have never run into this. Its sad for me to not be able to go, yet I wont leave my mom home who had her heart set on this. She was so excited. The festivals for a weekend have always worked so well. She could go in with fam and friends, Dad could rest and go when he wanted and rest or relax when he did not want to be in the middle of it.
I guess they will have to stay with Bluegrass festivals and not get the rest. I just don't understand why if you have a RV right on the other side of the fence you can't use it. OR want to go to your car at sundown and then get a sweatshirt for the evening and not have to carry it all day. After a day in the sun I would love to change clothes for the night. Oh well we will not attend and will wish we were there, but It's unfair and I will not leave them home and go.
You would have all of the money, I guess you might loose the sale of the bottled water if we went to our RV or someone went to the car. We will just go to the fairs etc where we see one each night and stay in our RV or Hotel it as usual.
Good luck and everyone who is strong enough for the lenghth of it enjoy. We will all think of it. Maybe next year the rules may lighten so all can enjoy not just the select few. YES I KNOW THOUSANDS WILL BE THERE, YET SO MANY MORE COULD HAVE BEEN.:(

I thought that they said we would be able to go to back and forth to our camping area. There is no way my girlfriend can handle the all day without laying down for an afternoon nap. The tent area will be accessable also, right?

Ins and outs is great! I have a friend who relies on a heart pump that will be going along for the ride, and HAS to have access to his heart batteries, otherwise he will die.. Literally... I also heard through my family grapevine that my grandparents will be attending and grandma is currently undergoing chemo.. This works out for all!~

Ok...lets make sure this is CLEAR...IN's and OUT's are allowed for RV campers ONLY! You have to have a "camping band" on in order to leave and re-enter

I do believe that if you a medical reason, they will re-scan your ticket to allow you back in.

There are lockers inside, if you want to bring in the batteries to replace.

Wow - they really want to go to Stagecoach! It's great that they're willing to still go and have a good time when a lot of people (probably myself included) wouldn't bother going to all that for some fun! :) Good for them - I hope everyone has a great time!

Got that!~ Batteries have to be placed on a charger and rotated, so a locker wouldn't work... Camping it is... Once again, thanks for info.

Yeah he's only 18 too ... quite a big life "adjustment" to make when you've always lived your life like any other normal being... Then all of a sudden your entire life changes... It's too easy to get depressed sitting at home so we try to include him in everything possible. Sometimes he has to take breaks from the heat/excitement, etc. We are all very excited!~

SC has a really great medical team/tent to help if needed.

I'm a woose and had to go for major blistered feet the first year.

Onsite campers may go to and from their camping, as stated on the onsite camping page.

Does that help?

Does this include those that paid to RV at the 52nd/Madison RV lot? or Do we need to purchase a People Pass also to go in/out?

Countrygurl
02-06-2009, 04:55 PM
That does not include to 52/madison.

52/madison does not come with any onsite camping amenities as explained on the website.

Yes you would have to purchase an onsite camping people pass if you want onsite camping privileges.

I agree...and beleive me, after all that walking you won't even want to go back to the tent..cuz you will never come back!

Besides, with all the exciting things going on you will both be too busy to even think about resting. There are plenty of places to just lay down and relax for a bit, bring a blanket. There were tons of people doing it, In fact the last night we stopped right outside the 2nd stage, under a palm tree, laid down and watched the light show they have going on. Very nice and relaxing....oh...then back to another concert!
