I want to know if its better to arrive yhursday instead of fridat if we have a group of 4 RV's to be able to camp together.. is the parking open parking or assigned as you all arrive?? Will we be less likely to get all those spots together on friday?

Thursday is the best day to arrive. The spots are based on first come first served basis, plus it gives you one extra night of partying

It's better if your group arrrives after 12 Friday.....that way it just gives me more room to get in before you. STAGECOACH!!!!!!

Yeah...well, you might wanna rethink that. since they pack you in EDII from front to back. and in EDI from back to front!!

Actually I sent an email asking about that to stagecoach email info and they said it is open parking and arriving earlier the better so thats why im asking from people that have been there on fridays and seen what it looks like compared to thursday...

Thats BS...If you think that "open parking" is that you can just go in and find a spot, you are mis-informed. think of it this way. They file you in, you fill in a spot, then the next and then the next until that row if full, then they start the next row. It gets so packed, that it would be sooo hard to back in or drive into a spot someone saved for you unless you had a small rv

AND...I would never be able to back in my 37' into a spot down some random isle if they did that...tooo narrow of a lane and the spots are only 20' wide.

and BS that the earlier you arrive the better. I was the 4th RV into the EDII two yrs ago and I was right at the exit that took you to the EDI spots. so I got lucky, about 50 RV 's later, they were at the furthest part of the isle, then they started the next row from me, so they were now close to me. Make sence? Then they do one whole row, then the next, so it is a luck of the draw.

People were paying the parking buys $100 to get "end spots" but they had to give the money back to the RV'rs and move them back to the spots they originally put them in.

and for EDI they park you by the POLO bar (look at the map) first, then file you towards the entrance. So unless they change that..but I doubt it!!

And I completly agree with you but Im only questioning it because of what they sent back to me by email... So tell me then how exactly does it work as we all drive up in a line with our rv's? are they directing us in individually to an assigned spot kinda like disneyland does and if we so happen to hit the 2 end spots the 2 of us have to park there and the other 2 have to go to the next row?

I think it is funny that people are so worried about camping next to there friends. The whole part of an event like this is to meet new people and experience the adventure. For those who are worried about when is the best time to get there and what spot to get, you should have stayed at the RV resort in Indio, checked in after 3pm, had a campsite reserved for you and all your friends could have camped in spots close if not next to you. People are overlooking what this is all about: Meeting new people, partying with complete strangers, and enjoying some great country music all weekend long. ED1 here we come!!!

We have always rolled in around noon on Friday and have never waited in a long line, at least not more than 5-7 rigs in line. I can honestly say that we've been lucky and asked if we could park on the far side where they weren't parking anyone yet and they've always let us go away from the pack and do our thing. That was it's easy to get the rigs in a big u shape in our campsites. Don't get me wrong, everyone filled in around us, but we have lucked out.
