It's my 3rd year for SC, but the first time camping! So excited, EDII here we come. Watch out for the crazy woman driver!

Anyway, my question...

My friend and I will be heading out on our own Thursday afternoon from Hemet. I've NEVER driven the truck and trailer together :-/ My husband usually does this, but he works and can't get there until Friday evening. How much manuevering is there once you get in? I'll be taking a test run sometime this week, but I'm not too sure how great my skills will be at backing in and straigtening out! lol! Oh lord help us!

Best thing I can say: RELAX. Swing wide for your right hand turns.

I pull 37' and just as long as I give time to break, and make wide turns I am ok.
Just keep in mind the trailer will not follow where the truck is, so if you turn right at the corner, the trailer will end up ON the corner. When you turn left, be sure not to cut off the guy sitting in the lane next to the one you are turning into, or you will also clip him.

Back, well, you just gotta do it. I am sure when you pull in, someone will help you. I have helped many people at SC and WWF park, move, set up their rigs.

Clear the path, I'm coming through!! Hubby is supposed to take me driving later, so hopefully I can show the boys how it's done! Just in case keep that Mustang far from me :-)

I just got back from my drive! I'm a ROCKSTAR! Didn't clip any cars & I even stayed in the lines. Went for a pretty long drive, in & out of the city and I got it up to freeway speed. My one issue is I still can't back to save my life :D Hopefully I can pull straight in! Anyone know if I'll need to back in at all? If so, I hope you're ready to do it for me!!

AWESOME!!!!! CONGRATS!!

How long is your truck and trailer together? if less than 50' you can pull in, but you may have to back in if your doors dont match up with a neighbor. You can find someone, let me know. I will be there thurs about 5-6pm. Backing, you just steer opposite of where you are aiming. I find it easier to look forward and thru my rear view mirrors and side mirrors, rather than over my shoulder. And remember the slightest movement of the stearing wheel will through that trailer three times as far. so small movements are best.

Good job. It's pull thru You might have to jockey around a little to get it straight but i don't think You will even have to do that because there should be plenty of room behind You since they just go down the line parking Rvs & the next line will be empty the only thing that would change this if You were wanting to have Your Rv door facing Your neighbors door in which case 1 of You would pull in the opposite way

Sweet! I'll let them back in if they want to face us ;-) I'm guessing I should be ok and if not there are tons of nice Stagecoachers willing to help! Can't wait!!!
