What's the deal... Easton Corbin - no longer on the lineup. I was definitely looking forward to seeing him more than most of the other smaller acts other than the big 6. Wonder who's next...?

That DOES suck, I wanted to check him out! I've heard good things about him. Maybe they'll replace him with somebody else up and coming. Steel Magnolias would be awesome, and they're gonna be in the area on Friday night for the Morongo show. Wait, does this mean Easton Corbin ISN'T gonna play at the Morongo on Friday night then?????

Aw man! I was ok with not going to the Morongo show because he was going to be at SC. I was actually going to make it to a side stage just for him! Sucks.
I remember back when they kept adding people as the days and weeks went on - not taking people off! I just don't get announcing a lineup and retracting SO many acts. Like someone said before- I get if something comes up and they need to back out, but announcing a lineup, selling tickets and then realizing there are SO many scheduling conflicts? Not cool.

Hey, as I was told when I bitched about JJ being removed....you can always just sell your tix......
this will be my first Stagecoach.....and my last.....I realize they don't care as they already have several hundred dollars of mine, but I'll be got-damned if they get anymore...I don't know who the promoters are, but they're not very damn good at their job...
Chevgirl357
04-14-2010, 07:58 AM
Well....they do put a little disclaimer that the tickets being sold are for the festival weekend and not any particular act. Or something to that effect. I am always thrilled about the performing artists, and of course bummed when they're taken off, but really? We're watching them on a screen (unless you have Gold Circle tix). Stagecoach is for the awesome experience for me (AND of COURSE the music, but for $100 I get to see at least 5 people I like, and that's awesome!). Yes I was bummed when they took Jason off (and stoked when they brought him back) but I knew I'd still see a bunch of artists I love.
*The opinion expressed above is just that. My opinion. :D:D:D

I threw 7 different kinds of hissy fit when Jamey was removed from the line-up. I'm still more than a little irked at that one......
I still love the Stagecoach experience. Even if I could only see the last three acts on the Mane stage both days I've still gotten more than my money's worth at $99. Add to it the BBQ competition (10 different 2 0z. samples for $20--HELLO), the side stages where I can broaden my musical interests/horizons with bands I've never heard of, the Clysdales. Icing on the cake dude!!!
The people I have met on this board have become true friends, we are a giant family. We camp and attend the festival together. We join up at other events throughout the year. They are phenomenal people and I am grateful to have them in my life. That is something you can't put a price tag on.
I'm sorry if you're upset/disappointed by a particular act being removed, it's not Stagecoach taking them off, it's them backing out. Stagecoach is not a 'concert'. It is a festival. It is, in it's totality, an experience.

If you don't have a signed contract with said artist, you don't announce them being there....seems pretty simple to me....If somebody does have to drop out, issue a press release expressing sorrow for the inconvenience (yes, it's a meaningless platitude, but it's a gesture)....as it has been in this case, they put tickets on sale, with a line-up announced, but have changed that line-up several times but have not announced any reasons or even any news of the changes.....piss poor promotion in my opinion....That's my biggest gripe.....they don't have the common business sense to relay information to the ticket buyers/customers.....

I am sorry you are so upset . . . but since this is your first stagecoach I highly recomend you go first and then decide. You might be surprised. After you attend stagecoach I think you might change your mind. As everyone has said stagecoach is an experience - there is really no other way to describe it. But its not for everyone, though we all love it. So I'm just saying that while yes it stinks that they keep changing the lineup try to go with an open mind and have fun. Otherwise the only person who will suffer is you. And if you can't let go of your anger maybe you should sell your tickets so that u don't end up feeling like you wasted your time or ruining anyone elses.

***That is fricken hilarious.... Understand your frustration with GV, they are not exactly the most professional outlet. And as we move on in Multi-year Stagecoach events, they are getting worse by each passing year. I do however agree with everyone as to the 'experience' cause if I was there for anything but the camping experience w/ friends and catching the main headliners (which is all I usually see) believe me the 'value' would not be there.... Suggestion, focus in on the party, friends you will meet and keep and have a blast. GV has us 'veteran' SC'ers by the "you know what" because we want to come back each to hang out with our friends and camp.... lol That part of the experience, PRICELESS....

ok, i realize that losing announced artists can be frustrating, but can i offer this...
im not trying to get into an arguement, but i am NOT a country music fan. at all. but my gf is. i decided for a gift this year for her bday or anniversary, id take her since she ONLY loves country music and broadway music.
that being said, my original plan was to get her Taylor Swift Tickets, which, well, that show was tonight (or maybe tomorrow?) at the staples center in LA.
i proceeded to forget to check for said swift tickets after the 1st 3 shows went on sale (non were LA) and rememebered when she won like 5 billion awards this year.
by that time the show was sold out.
fine, NP, this is why we have stubhub...
that being said, tickets to see Taylor, in the same general area i have our tickets for, which, i got actual reserved seats for SC, were upwards for 400-500 a PIECE.
i was THIS CLOSE to just buying them, when i decided to check and see some tour dates for some of her other fav bands, 2 happened to be Sugarland and Keith Urban, who are headlining one day at SC.
i opted for 2 day passes for SC. 225 bucks.
this being said, while this festival may lose acts, and YES that IS frustrating, think about how much value you are getting for the price of admission.
even NON stubhub Swift tickets, in the same general row/area as my SC tickets were 80 a piece PLUS taxes, shipping, venue fee...
i dont know much about country music, but i know enough to know that, Keith Urban, Sugarland, Toby Keith are big name acts that can sell out 25k+ seat arenas.... add in B+D on their retirement tour... not to mention Jason Aldean, whom im told is getting huge, and, my parents were oak ridge boys fans, and i have seen them more than a few times, and to see THEM, teh venue near me, was upwards of 50-75 bucks.
while i can say im unhappy right now with whomever is running this festival since its 8 days? and there is NO readily available set times on THIS SITE (but via an iphone app? and THANKS to the person who put them up in the other thread) as well as the fact there is NO 2010 site map to see where the stages are, and what conviences and other stuff there is going on during the 2 days, but you have to look at previous years galleries to get a feel for it, well, its disturbing, but, at this point, even knowing very little, i feel like that the price of admission for this is WELL worth while.
anyways, yeah, done with this long rant.
just saying, i get the frustration, but for what you have to pay to see some of these acts ALONE, add it together, even if some acts cancel, isnt it in the end worth while?

IDK off the top of my head, but i know it had a row and seat numbers.
if this isnt the case that i have seats, im going to have an issue, because, well, i was under the impression that i had seats when given a row and seat numbers. and if i DONT, well, i wouldve shelled out more money to HAVE seats at the main stage area.
if its GA, why would they give you seats and a row? thats odd. ive been to ALOT of concerts in my life, and, when it was GA, they didnt give you a row or seat number, just GA under every thing, IE..
Sec: GA
Row: GA
Seat: GA

i believe what you are telling me is the case. its really odd to me. i live just outside NYC and have been to ALOT of shows in NYC. no tickets ive ever bought for a GA show had a seat or row. just like, when going to say MSG or Nassau Coliseum for example, like when i saw White Zombie/Horton Heat, i had FLOOR tickets, and they said FLOOR-GA. no seat or row since on the floor there wasnt any.
honestly LOL it doesnt matter, but, i cant say that its not a little misleading.

ok, so basically LOL, i got GA tickets, but for some reason they have a row and seats... which are non exsistant?
so should i assume than, if i dont bring chairs, even tho said tickets HAVE a seat listed for me and my GF, i wont have chairs to sit down in...
thats actually pretty misleading if thats the case.
You can bring your own chairs in, that's what we all do. All GA tickets for most concerts have rows and sections and seats, so they can keep track of how many tickets they are selling, just fyi. And really, to have the VIP tickets, they are EXTREMELY expensive and honestly not worth it unless you're in the Gold Circle (first few rows). You two will have a blast in GA, bring chairs and blankets!

What, what, WHAT!?!?! No Jamey Johnson AND no Eastin Corbin?!?! WTF!?!?! (sorry, just learning this now, been out of the loop for a while...) This blows! How does this happen?!?!? How does GV not nail these contracts down?!?! Its not like this is some small bar/night club and the artist got a better gig somewhere else....nor are the artists playing for FREE like at CMAfest....this is a paid gig!!
Don't bother replying about the "value" of my SC ticket cuz I am a SC VETERAN and I am aware of the value, it is GREAT...but this is getting a bit ridiculous.
Thank baby Jesus there is still an awesome party going down in the camping grounds and some pretty awesome peeps to party with!! Good times!! (just less music :()

WTF! I'm so sick of this. I was really looking forward to Gary Allan and then he disappeared. Then I saw Mallory Hope in San Francisco in December and was psyched to see her as well. I even talked to her personally while she was on stage and she seemed jazzed about it as well. Now Easton Corbin is MIA? This makes no sense. I purchased the $500 tickets and live over 9 hours away. I'm so not happy w/ this. I heard how great stage coach is but it seems to be nothing but a waste of a true country fans time and money. I mean I'm paying $500 per ticket, camping fees (thank god I'm camping I'd be even more angry if I was staying at a hotel), and that's not even counting gas. NOT TO MENTION that I called to change my address and was told that it would be ok and that my tickets hadn't been shipped yet. Come to find out the tickets were shipped TWO weeks before w/o signature required. Friends of mine had their tickets dropped at their apartment complex and could have been stolen. That's a lot of money on the line.
For all you true country fans that are just as frustrated with the line up changes and the total lack of transparency from Stagecoach I suggest checking out Country Throwdown. Its only 1 day but is way cheaper!!! Here is the line up: Montgomery Gentry, Jamie Johnson (didn't he also disappear from the Stagecoach lineup as well?), Little Big Town, Jack Ingram, The Eli Young Band, Eric Church, Heidi Newfield, The Lost Trailers, Emily West (already there is more big time artists in 1 day than at all of Stagecoaches 2 days) Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses, and Johnathan Singleton & the Grove. This is such a better deal and they haven't changed the line up once for a quarter of the cost (general admissions is only $21)!!!
Stagecoach just seems to be a joke.

I'm throwing a concert, uh, I mean "festival" in my back yard this weekend....Line up includes everybody who's ever had a Top 20 hit on the Billboard charts....tickets are available at my website www.youreasucker.com and are only $500 each CASH ONLY.....oh and you can't bring anything into the venue, that's ANYTHING.....chairs, blankets, umbrellas, water, soda, alcohol, clothes, etc.....all women will be given cavity searches and all men will be fondled by a large, sexually ambiguous baboon named Pat....Line-up subject to change, but that's okay because it's a "festival".....
I love your comments and so agree! I really hope that you're at least in the seats next to us at this!

I guess I just see it differently than you. I'm a country music fan, for me its not about the partying. I like the MUSIC. As to you suggestion, its not like I can sell my tickets and camping pass this late in the game especially when I have to leave today. Not to mention I wouldn't get what I paid for them, I found cheaper tickets on stub hub and after talking w/ a rep, I found out they were cheaper on stub hub last year as well. Like I said earlier I'm driving over 9 hours to go to this. Clearly its a shitty deal when you compare it to Country Throwdown. Plain and Simple

That's the thing, it's not JUST about the partying...it's everything. It's not like there are NO acts around. Maybe because the ONE person you really want to see dropped out is the reason you are feeling this way. To me there is PLENTY of other acts to see and music to enjoy. I bought GA tickets so I guess it's not that much more than Throwdown to me. Plenty of people are asking to buy tickets and camping passes and have been for a few weeks now. Sorry you are feeling so miserable about the situation. Since you are driving the 9 hours you might as well try and enjoy yourself. You are stuck with a weekend full of country music and friendly people.

What she said.
We all have our reasons for going - and if it's JUST about the music and the lineup - then I think you're missing out!
I hope you're able to still have a great time even if the act you were most wanting to see isn't going to be there.
I mean, I'm disappointed that a couple people I was looking forward to seeing won't be there - but it's the whole experience. The party, the people, the music....everything!

No worries, we're not all puppies around here.
As for folks being upset. I get it, I do. I still sputter when I think about Jamey not being there. It's just that this is a festival. Not a concert. The music is the main draw, or focal point yes, but it's still a part of the whole.
I'm NOT a big partier, although I camp with some who would qualify:p, I can't because I have my 13 year old daughter with me and I'm just to old to be able to hang. I still have a blast with my friends I've made through these boards. We are really like a big family now.
The artwork and artistry (I mean I love watching the blacksmiths) and craftsmanship I find. The music I've never heard of. The headliners. The BBQ and other food. The camping. All of it together makes the festival experience. And THAT is what keeps me coming back for more despite any disappointment about an artist that is cancelled or backs out.

caligurl...I don't want to get in an online pissing match with you, or anybody else for that matter....but the FACT is the promoters of this shindig outright LIED on several occasions!! Some of those lies led many people to drop LARGE amounts of money because they expect that somebody who is supposed to be a professional concert promoter would have the business sense to NOT LIE!! I understand some things are out of their control, shit happens, etc....but that doesn't change that fact that they have conducted their business in a less than stellar way....to stand behind the "line up subject to change without notice" is a chicken shit excuse! If something happens that is beyond your control, you don't quietly change things with no explanation....You communicate with your customers, you give them at least empty platitudes and 99 times out of 100, they are going to understand...yes they may still be upset, but they will understand.....As I've said from the beginning of my little piss fit, that's what bugs me more than anything.....They damn sure didn't have any problem announcing who they THOUGHT MIGHT, MAYBE, SORTA, COULD, ALMOST BE THERE, but when those apparent pipe dreams didn't pan out, oh well, we got your money, get bent.....Now, with all that said, I'm still going, because several of my friends are going as well (and they're a little peeved with the way things have been handled as well), and we decided that the money was already spent so may as well make the best of it....I've never been to a "festival" but quite frankly, I can camp out in the desert 20 minutes from my house and not spend an assload of money doing it, the MUSIC is the main draw for me.....As to the other aspects, I'll make that judgement when I see them....You can probably gather that I'm not much of a "people person" (and I'm fine with that btw), so the partying with strangers thing doesn't hold much water with me either.....I'm sorry that you or others get angry that we're running down your precious little Stagecoach, but the truth is, I'm not running it down, I'm running down the poor business attitude that seems to permeate it.....

Well, if any of the original posters that listed acts like Jamey Johnson, Easton Corbin, Gary Allan, etc still existed, I would......But I guess things like press release touting the appearances of acts such as those listed might do the trick....

There's several hundred other sources for the same information, but I think these serve the purpose......if it wasn't anything more than wishful thinking, then what was it?
of course I'm sure this won't work as the "proof" you need.....I'm wrong, you're right and that's that.....as far as you're concerned......

artists originally announced back when the lineup was released would have had contracts signed to perform. if they dropped out it was on their end, not the promoter's. shit happens in 7 months and plans change.

it's not at all about who is wrong or right dude, if you think that then you REALLY got everyone on these boards wrong. but we can see now that you are determined to be a downer. i hope for your group's sake that you change your tune! anywho good luck and try to have a good time. if you go there thinking ' this is a waste of money and i'm going to have a shitty weekend' well...you will have shitty weekend! so again...TRY to look on the bright side of things and have a good time

EXACTLY!!! Why are you blaming SC?? Don't you think they would've wanted them there?? It's the artists dropping out. I doubt Goldenvoice is going, um Jamey Johnson, we don't want you here anymore, we want disappoint all the festival goers!

Go piss in someone else's cornflakes. It's not my 'precious Stagecoach' but it is a festival, not a concert. I'm just as pissed as anyone Jamey won't be there but since I don't know WHY I'm not going to pass JUDGEMENT. We don't care for this type of behavior on these boards. We're welcoming, accepting and friendly of anyone who comes around and wants to join in, but we don't cotton to nasty, elementary school temper tantrums.

Can we have a group hug and all play nicely now? :)
Like others have said - many are disappointed in some lineup changes - but really, we can't fault the promoters....they're not going to advertise anyone as confirmed when they're not yet....but sh*t happens and artists have to cancel for whatever reasons.
I really do hope that everyone who is really upset about the lineup change (esp if this is their first SC) does make the best of it and has a GREAT time!!!!

ya ditto on the hug and also at least kicks and ronnie will be there. i mean this is their last SC ever and the headliners are still showing up. the smaller bands have plans change, but the headliners are still there and thats what really matters, i think if a headliner were to be a no show then we have the right to raise hell but since there all still there then we have no reason to complain. lets all take a shot and wash it down with a chill pill and enjoy the experience, becasue thats what it is, a festival experience......

Interesting read -- bummer about the missing artists!
I sure hope Sugarland shows up! I have had tickets for three Sugarland concerts in the last year and all were canceled or subsitute groups performed!
Hope I am not bringing bad luck to SC!
Last year SC was the best!
Helloooo... apparently 6 days late but I'm just NOW hearing about Easton Corbin. As I've read through this thread though, I've managed to pout, cry, get angry, sue GoldenVoice, lose, get scolded for even being mad in the first place, realize a festival is all about friends, music and a party, and give myself a BIG hug. Thank you SCMB friends. ;):D:p
