i just checked out the stagecoach website.... and look what they posted!!!
can we say finally?????
\Can we bring alcohol?
Reasonable amount of beer (limited to 1 case of beer per person) (NO KEGS, NO GLASS, NO LIQUOR), for personal consumption only (NO VENDING), by folks who are of legal age (21), will be permitted to be brought onto the camping areas (not concert area). If, however, in the security's judgment it appears that the amount of alcohol is excessive for the number of persons in the vehicle, or if anyone in the vehicle is under 21 years of age, the organizers reserve the right to deny entry of the vehicle and/or confiscate the alcohol. Kegs may not be brought onto the property. Please keep these things in mind and be sensible about how much you plan to bring in. Beer will be available for purchase on the concert field. Yes boxed wine is ok to bring too.

What is the level of "searching consent" you are giving to security if you come in with an RV?
Are they literally allowed to poke around inside or do they just take a peek inside the door?
Also, what if we're arriving first (which we are), and our friends are arriving later.....?
See, we're bringing their beer, but if they're not there when we bring in our RV on Thursday, are we limited to bringing in just the 2 cases for us?

There were tons of posts after last year's SC about this....seems like the tent campers were all but strip searched multiple times and the RV-ers were pretty much just waived into camp.

I've heard they occasionally search an RV. Just hearsay though, I really have no clue. And how does that work, I'm curious too. Do you need a search warrant to search a vehicle, or does being on private property automatically entitle them to that? I have no qualms either way, I'm a good girl :D but just curious.

The reason for no grills is due to the fire hazard (per the City of Indio Fire Marshall)
Punk in Drublic + Cooking Fire = Conflagration.
In the camping areas there are no fire hydrants. If one RV starts it has potential for 6 or 5 or the whole row to go up before if can be brought under control.

Well, the first year of SC, on our way in, Paul, one of the promotors was on the local radio station and announced that grills would be allowed that year...so we stopped off and got shrimp, steaks etc. We ended up grilling with our new found neighbors and Paul stopped off and sat and chatted with us about what we liked etc. Had a great time. Thanked him for the allowance of grills, but not sure now why they wont allow them. Didnt hear of anything bad that happened.
But to say drinking and BBQing dont mix...well NOTHING safely mixes with liquor. Better to drink on a full tummy. ;)

There is no way multiple RV's would 'go up in flames' - they are too far apart. An RV has a 50X better chance of burning from a stove fire IN THE RV than from a Gas grill outside the RV. Candles, cigs, etc. I am not buying the Fire Hazard idea of a GRILL outside the RV - people have been grilling 'next to' these suckers since Moses wore short pants!
Just like the alcohol (before they changed the rule) they want to make more money, period. Every RV park in the nation allows grilling - many of which are farther away from a Fire Truck than the StageCoach Festival!

Some may be the issue of people possibly burning the "polo grass" with their grills. Although tough to do with gas, but if they did have charcoal, idiots seem to think they can dump the coals anywhere they want. And others feel they can put their red hot grills on the ground and leave burn marks.
Although IT IS STUPID WE CANT BBQ!!!!!!:mad::mad:
