First year in ED1 and we'd like to know the difference's good and bad of arriving Thursday vs Friday. Can you share your experiences please.

arrive either thursday night or friday EARLY MORNING.
the earlier you get there, the closer your RV will be to the gate.

That's right!!! I'm going to be there EARLY Thursday to meet the RV delivery.

This wasnt exactly true for last year at ED1. They filed people in starting closest to the gate down one side then back up the other so the first few isles were basically the same as the last few isles. And then what didnt make sense to me was since it wasnt completely sold out those last about 10 isles were left completly empty while the first few were totally crowded.
Picture this number sequence below as the rectangle RV lot...
1.2.3.4.5
6.7.8.9.10
if #1 was the corner where the gate was... They filed you in like 1,2,3,4,5,then 10,9,8, and then 6&7 were totally empty. (does that make sense?)
If i were to change it, i would make it like a typwriter in ascending order, or go like 1,2,6,7,3,4,8,9,5,10 so people are closest to the gate. But im not in charge and im sure they have their reasons....
Never the less show up as early as possible and get your time and money worth of fun. I had as much fun thursday night as any other night and it was just two of us before the rest showed up friday evening.

Kuzn Edy said it best!! very true. They have the entrance to the RV area by the entrance to the Festival, but they fill up back of the grounds and start bringing people forward towards the entrance. I understand the reasoning, but I do know it works the other way also. just gotta have some guys running the RV parking that are on it more. (by the Polo Bar) first..basically so that there isnt caos I guess...
I think the first arrived should get better parking, but they get screwed.

I maybe in stick and ball with my crowd but ill surely be there Thursday... I'll just watch the mayhem of everybody pulling in there from the roof of the RV with a red cup in hand..

If you love people watching..and I do..this is one funny thing! Watching people try to back into their spots 10 times to get right where the parking dude "wants you to be"..then arguing with them cuz your pop out won't open or it will hit your neighbors pop out, and you are too close, or not close enough to your neighbors etc etc...or you want an "end spot". Definately comedy:D

Im glad you mentioned that.... Just made my day picturing people backing in and getting situated. Definately a highlight of the weekend.
My favorite is watching people pick up their boats after a long day at the launch ramp on busy weekends... The drunk a-hole drives up with the boat, doesnt want his ol lady to drive his truck so he picks it up and waits in line gettin pissed for 30 min then screws up backing down five times with everyone watching then yells at the ol lady to throttle up so he doesnt have to use the winch then she over shoots and he gets pissed off and ends up doing it himself like it was her fault or something and then peeling out up the ramp with the boat all half cocked and kids screeming...
OK, sorry... back to showing up early to watch the RV show.

Yes, I love the boat ramp chaos as much as watching new off roaders getting their trailers stuck trying to get into camp. A favorite pass time!!!

OMG...the good ole days. Note: my father taught me very, very well how to launch and pick up boats. Many girls trips to the rivers with my boat.
I remember my ex (with this story you will understand more why he is an ex) tell me to go get the Bronco and he will stay with the boat. I am waiting for a good spot to back up...knowing DAMN WELL that the pavement ends at a certain part of the launch ramp..so I will be patient and get the good part...so as to not be in the mud and get stuck under water. He is yelling at me to back the *&^% up NOWWWW! People on the docks just disgusted with his language. So..I back up as he says to avoid any further embarrassment.
He keeps telling me to come back..come back...I yell back telling him I cant and that water is coming in the truck!! Of course that is MY FAULT and proceeds to yell at me to not worry about it and that I am exagerating and to keep backing up... OK!! I back up and sit and wait about 10 minutes while he hooks up. He says "hit it" and I strain to pull forward...since we are in the mud that I warned him about earlier. as I pull foward..I open the door and about a foot water effin LAKE ELSINORE CRAP WATER runs out of the truck. Of course, he yells at me again as to why I didnt tell him there was so much water!! UGHHH..so he calls me a few choice words, pushes me out of the way, being a stupid blonde and I cant do crap, proceeds to get into the truck and he pulls away leaving me stranded at the docks, and having to find a ride home:mad::mad::mad:
My only saving grace, was the people on the docks consoling me and telling my I did the right thing and what an arrogant arse he is. Anyone who knows me...knows damn well I know how to drive and back up anything. His ego was bruised and handled it like the arse is was and still is!!:mad::mad:

OMG Kymery, what an @SS!!!! My sister in law (and she definitely is a smart woman who KNOWS what she's doing) was driving and either loading or unloading her and my bro's SeaDoo. She hits the gas to pull the truck up and forgets it's in reverse. The entire truck went under and had to be towed out. :eek:

Hahah funny...had I had my witts about me, instead of wanting to crawl into a hole and hide...I would of done that on purpose and told him to get it his damn self!
