Ok, it has been requested and bestowed upon me to organize a group pic of all the SC Board members at SC10:D:D
What we want to do is gather everyone, and anyone from the SC boards that would like to meet up and take a group pic so it can be posted on the SC boards.
I will be camping in the ADA area (handicap) and I am thinking, since it is right at the entrance to the festival..... and everyone will have to pass by me to get in, it would be a great meeting point and take the pic there. I can have someone stand on top of my Motorhome and take the pic from up high so everyone is in it. Great idea huh? :)
I will get everyone's input and then decide on what day and time. But at this point I think Saturday AM before the gates open. That way we know everyone has arrived and ready to kick of a great festival weekend.
So mark your calenders, hung over or not......be there or be square and loose out on being in the history books as the greatest group of board members SC has ever had:D:D

If you do it before the gates open, and in a camping area, you're going to make it impossible for a lot of people to be in the picture...

There is an opening right by ADA to the main entrance that "non campers" have to pass by. So I am thinking right there would be good.

What about later in the afternoon in the BBQ area like last year? Reason being, I know there will be a LOT of us not going into the venue until later in the day. Last year we didn't go in until 2 or 3, and that was a good portion of us.

That's true, and USC is right, there may be some that get missed. We had a big group last year and so many people were taking our picture. The bbq guys came over too. Wasn't there a big stuffed rabbit running around there too? I like the afternoon BBQ location for a group pic

LOL, that rabbit ws hilarious! I have tons of pics of that. I actually have our group pic on the front of a photo book I made from the whole SC experience last year!

Agreed. Some people go in later, some wait in line to get in ASAP, etc. BUT...I also don't wanna miss a good act in the middle of the day either.

Very true. Maybe we can check closer to the date and see what the line-up is and meetup in the BBQ area during a so-so act? Last time it was like a 15 minute meet-up. We can even do in between sets since that takes about half hour or so to change out.

Karena, good idea..especially closer to the date we'll have a better schedule. seemed like once we all found the BBQ area it ended up being a pretty good location. Grassy and plenty of room. Alot of people were doing the tasting for the competition, anyway. You'll probably have the spread sheet with the names anyway, so you'll most likely be in touch with us.

Yeah inside would be great, concern brought to my attention, so just a thought on that too, people get partying and forget, then they don't want to miss any acts, and with three stages going on, there are no "in between set" options. I am one of those people :D
No matter what, someone is gonna miss out, but gotta work on the best for the masses. Nothing set in stone until then.
OH..and here is my MAIN...MAIN conern, I can't bring in my nice huge camera to take an awesome pic with. I know we all will have the little ones, but I was hoping to take a one as close to professional as possible so the pic comes out real, real good if blown up, or reprinted.
Hey..countrygurl...give me a PHOTO pass to get my camera in for this one occasion? purty please ? (ok, can't hurt to ask);)
Horse, will you have yours in there? That may be another option?

yea i don't know if people would come to both either. i know mom and i would try to be in both if time allowed it. my mom(kathy) really liked your idea of taking the pic from on top of your rv so we could get a better pic. especially since you have a good camera. hmm well we still have some time to make decisions. maybe a poll would help?

I agree with both places.... Our group can take a photo in their Stagecoach t shirts.. then the girls can go back to the RV and change into thier "3 week" planned out (shopping spree) wardrobe, for each day (morning and night) of Stagecoach! LOL
Last year they made me walk all the way back to the RV to change after the group shot at the Barbeque pit! They did not care one lick about the SC Board photo. LOL
So that is why I say shoot at both places!

Well, hopefully that won't happen this year. Still time to make a final decision. So all these points are great ones. I will keep all of them in mind.
Just a friendly reminder, this is not the same pic as the SC t-shirts group that Festival is doing shirts for....I am sure Festival will want to plan to do a pic with her SC t-shirts group again also.:D
So keep in mind that there will probably be two to plan on if she is planning one also. I would love everyone in it, SC t-shirts or not:D Hell, clothes or not!! hahaha....noooottttttt:eek:

I found everyone - but I believe a few people were on the other end of the BBQ and missed out on the pic - finding us as we were finishing up.
Maybe in front of a certain BBQ stand or something?

Thats a great pic Cooter!! You were lucky to not have everyone and their mom already in the venue. The minute the gates opened it was a frenzy just to get in.
Your idea is a good one. As I said...someone won't be able to make it no matter what. So, when the set times are out, I can do a poll and see what the best time is and go with that.:D
Oh, and where are you in that pic?
Just name the day and time. People will either be there or they won't. I heard only like 3 people made it the first year for the group pic that was planned on a Sunday at like 1:00. This past year seems like there were 25+ people who made it to the BBQ area at 2 on Saturday.

My 2 cents... pick a time between early sets, and meet at one of those signs. i like cooter's pick with the sign and the stage in the background. bbq is good too. should be something stagecoachy in the shot/background.

Hey all!!! I am going to make the group shot this year!!!! I definitely think inside the venue and in the early afternoon would be better for everyone to make it to. If you make it before the gates open that may jeopardize the ability to get good seats . . . also our group is usually not made up of early birds - unless u catch them the first day lol . . . which there seems to be a lot of us going up thurs night. So there might not be a day where everyone is "fresh" lol . . . Maybe we can meet in the BBQ area and then find something stagecoachish to take a pic with. Last year there was a place where girl scouts were selling cookies and they was hay and some wagons that would have made a good backdrop - there was also that GIANT mountain of hay!!

Yup, that works! I think every group should have a photo shoot!, campers, non campers, those that get there early, ones that show up late. Get a picture at the BBQ, by your RV, or even your group while enjoying the music.
I love looking back at the pictures. Good memories!

IIRC most of the people who chimed in thought Saturday AM before the music starts was best -- same time as last year. But I don't recall what the consensus was regarding location.

Well, they are moving the BBQ area this year, right? I think that was a great open area, would be good to do again, but I'm not sure of the layout this year. CaliGirlUCR (did I get that RIGHT?!?!) suggested some haystacks that were there, but I don't recall them. Please feel free to throw out ideas. Let's keep it somewhere spacious though. They said the BBQ area is gonna be moved to where it's been in previous years, but last year was my first time so I'm not sure where the "old" location is. Input?

Is 2pm before the concerts starts?
If we don't do this before the concert starts then someone you're inevitably going to force at least one person to choose between the picture or the concert. If I had to choose I'd pick a performer I want to see over the picture.

No, it's not before the concert starts, but normally the big performers don't start on the Mane Stage until after 3pm. gonna try to plan this for in between performances anyhow, and the BBQ area last year was right by the side stage so easy to get to for the next performance. If we do it too early (noon or earlier) inside the venue, you're going to be missing a LOT more people. Last year our meetup was at 3:30 and we had a good turnout. We can't please EVERYONE, but the goal is to work around what 95% of people will show up for, kwim? :)

The whole contest site will be different for 2010
On the Map linked above
find the word CLUB
From the B Head South about 150 Yards
The "Mane" Stage will be in the space
where the contest was the last couple of years
Compared to last year the BBQ will be across from the Mustang & Palomino Stages.
That's going to be different having the Mane Stage so far away from the VIP tented area but closer to run to the other stages....unless they move everything around???

I was waiting, as requested, until it was closer and a line up was out to get a time that I wanted to do this for. But seems that plans are moving forward without me?? And that is ok..just let me know

I had a ton of emails/pms about where and when, but not sure cuz all these posts state other things. Lets just be sure all SCBM know who/what/where etc...I was planning to do one before the festival started on Saturday am sometime.

The one I was workin on was for the SCMB folks (primarily those who are gonna be sportin their fantastic shirts) so we can do a group pic inside the festival, about mid-day. I think yours was separate, but if everyone would prefer to combine them, we can. I liked your idea for yours to take a pic from the top of an RV, which is why I thought we were doin 2 different ones. I really apologize if this confused anyone or if I stepped on any toes. :)

good idea!..some of the best pictures we have are ones from atop the rv's looking out at a sea of RV's... definitely a photo op!

Yep, we have decided to do both! That way we get a GREAT pic atop the RV with a nice professional camera and one of everyone in their shirts (others are welcome of course too) inside the venue. Off to start the who's gonna be where thread!

ha ha, nope, not just two!!.. there will be plenty pics for proof, bribery and extortion later on.
there were so many people taking pictures last year at the BBQ area , who knows where they ended up.
I think it'll be fun to see how many group pictures there will be!

Yeah...we thought two would be awesome. What I want to do is see if everyone that can make it on Saturday AM about 11 to my RV, which will be in the ADA spots...so you have to pass by my to get in! And since anyone can get into the campgrounds with a festival ticket this year, that shouldn't be a problem. BUT if that changes, we can make another plan. Then we can all hang out for a few, tip a few last minute drinks back, socialize then all go on our way to party hardy inside.

yup.. we were, huh. I think we were drinking beer by 11 am, line dancing, stashing the goods and planning our gate run!

funny, huh, that we have to line up early for GA. Those of you with actual seats don't have to be part of the frenzy! But it's actually kind of fun in line, or at least we had fun. Jacob and I were right on target with planning our ETA's. Kind of fun that we can enter at two different gates, and find everybody in just minutes.

Yeah, I think next time a group pic atop the RV is a MUST, but we have to do it on a Friday evening or somethin. It's too har I think because of everyone going in/lining up at different times. I didn't make it in either day before 1pm, too much to do to be ready!

This was the first year that they had a VIP entrance with no line. All the past years I waited too. I have to say that out of all the VIP perks, this happened to be the best one.

Even though I could have gone in the no-wait VIP line I wanted to stand in line with my homies. Cuz I knew I wouldn't see them the rest of the day. I actually liked seeing all the weird stuff going on around us while we waited.

I think few places can compare in terms of people watching than waiting in line at a venue. Stagecoach is no exception. You see some really weird sh*t!
