Hello all.

My wife is a big Sugarland fan and I promised her I would take her to one of their concerts (that was 2 years ago) so I found this Stagecoach Festival but not sure if this is the correct venue to use to fulfill my promise. I see pictures of all the different stages, campers relaxing etc. I would really like to know if this festival is delivered on many different stages, do you have to travel from one stage to another, do the artist perform at the same time so you have to pick and choose which stage to be at at a certain time? Do the performers do a full concert type program or do they shorten it down to just two or three songs.

Thanks

With so few acts on the bill, we're likely looking at full sets, but that's not guaranteed or known until right beforehand.

It's a HUGE, and I do mean HUGE field that the fesitval is held on. You asked about traveling from one stage to the next: in terms of having to walk over there - yes. It's all on the same big field though, just in different areas. If that makes sense.

On the festival website, look at the map. Look at the pictures and choose the virtual tour. Gives you a much better idea of what you're in for at Stagecoach.

There are three stages for the acts to perform on. The Mane stage is completely open air. The Palomino and Mustang stages have a tent that is open on the ends. Some artists will be performing at the same time. We'll find out the set times right before the festival starts.

On the festival website you can choose to see 'line-up by day' under the 'event info' tab. Where the name is located on the list indicates when they play, for the most part. Top name = last act. Keep in mind though that the middle names could either be the last act on a smaller stage, or a middle act on the mane stage. We won't know the stage break down until right beforehand either.

Biggest names will be on the Mane stage. For instance: based on past experience I would say Saturday, the Mane stage will close out with; Billy Currington, Sugarland and Keith Urban, in that order. Sunday will close out with: Jamey Johnson, Brooks & Dunn and Toby Keith. Again............I could be wrong, but, that's how it's been in the past. I would think that Heidi Newfield and Phil Vassar could very well be the closing act on a smaller stage and would be playing at the same time as say....Sugarland and Brook & Dunn respectively. If that makes any sense at all.

One more thing to consider, based on why you're asking your questions. Unless you shell out hundreds for reserved seating (which might very well be sold out at this point), you're going to end up in general admission. That means if you're lucky, you'll be able to see tiny little people on the stage while you watch the monitors.

I personally thought that would be a major drawback for me my first year. I came to find out I didn't care. I had so much fun, with such awesome people, it didn't matter that I wasn't right next to the stage, and the music is loud enough I could hear the show still when I left early to take my daughter back to our tent in the campground.

She was a little young still that first year and got tired. So I found myself sitting in my chair in a mostly quiet campground, with my feet propped up and a cold beer in my hand, listening to Carrie Underwood do a cover of Paradise City while my Little Bit slept and these drunk girls made fools of themselves on the grass. Golden.

My 2 cents...if you are wanting to give your wife an experience to see Sugarland, then do not take her to SC UNLESS you have seats in the first few rows. Otherwise, take her to another venue.

Main acts are on the "Mane" stage, and all others on the other stages..so yes, you have to miss one act to see another. You gotta do some time management and loose out on a few artists to see others.

I agree SC is an overall experience and many people go more for the festival than the actual musical acts.

Yes, this festival is worth it. No, if you are just interested in seeing one performer.

Go with an open mind and explore. I discovered acts at the smaller stages that blew me away and I was very much UP CLOSE. Amazing talent all around. Places for the kids to have a blast and I've sat and watched the smiles that you can't wipe off their little faces all dressed up in their cute little cowboy and cowgirl attire. Lots of different booths with merchandise for sale including autograph booth signings by some of the artists. The BBQ is off the hook. All the friends that I have met over the years from Stagecoach and this message board. We hook up at various concerts during the year including dinners, tailgating and such. GREAT peeps around here. Plus SC is an eye show for sure. I could go on and on.

If she just wants to see Sugarland than I would take her to a Sugarland concert. They are playing at Buffalo Bills on Friday night before Stagecoach. I'm not sure if it's sold out and I think it's a make-up from when Jennifer got sick last year. I'm a bit of a Sugar Junkie myself.
