View Full Version : Festival Tix Required for ED1 Campers?

This year was our first SC. We loved it and will be returning next year. I don't recall seeing anything last year that required everyone camping in ED1 to possess a festival ticket. There is a huge statement to that effect this year however on the camping page.
My wife said she wants to stay at the campsite with our son, so tickets for the both of them would be a waste. Is this something new? I can't imagine them being able to enforce it unless they check everyone for tickets when you pull onto the polo field. Would make the line going in a lot longer!

I brought this up. Many people bring grandmas, sitters, etc and dont go in!! How can they deny that?

I agree. That does suck. I like how they did it last year where you got the 6 wristbands. It made it easy.

Well, where there is a will, there is a way. Grab some nice person and have them come with you to show their "festival ticket" and get a camping wristband. Buy them a beer in return!!
Then you will have an extra band. What hell to go thru, but there is no way to stop people from getting them if they say 'ALL YOU CAN FIT AS LONG AS THEY HAV PASSES"

I feel like its going to be a cluster F***...

I think they are trying to avoid the cluster F*** they had last year by having everyone buy a ticket instead of the 6 writsbands you got with your spot last year. It brought in a lot of party goers that caused problems in the camping area that never had an intention to partake in the concert.

be careful, some around here don't like it when you try to use common sense...

Well, where there is a will, there is a way.
I couldn't agree more. Last festival my wife wanted to stay behind with my son. I posted a message asking if it was possible to "share" a ticket, in case my wife wanted to go check things out during my down time. I was told emphatically "no" by one of the board moderators, so we each bought a ticket. I found out during the festival that we could have very easily done just that.
on a purely selfish level, i'm kinda diggin this rule.... cuz i never get into the camping area to see you guys for burrito breakfast, or just to say hey and meet all the fun board people. this way i'll be able to see ya'll and have a beer together!!

im sorry if this has been answered a million times, but lets see if you can answer it for me...
so the ruling so far is that you can get as many wristbands as there are tickets? really? wow then what is the point of even having wristbands? it does sound like a free for all...

whoever is the owner of the camping pass probably determines how many bracelets they need. i doubt people will just be able to walk up and get a pass out of the blue. you will have to know the person who you are staying with to get one. so technically it is up to the camping ticket purchasers how crazy it gets...if it gets too crazy you only have the people who invited a ton of guests to blame, not the organizers.

In addition, you have to all arrive together to get the wristbands. That will help to some extent.

another probably dense question.
so since we are going to just rent an rv for edII and it has no electrical hook ups in edII
then does the rv run off some other kinda power? like to take showers and stuff?
once again, thank you for any insight anyone might have.

Only if you have a generator I believe. Others here would know more.

Ok the Rvs are "self contained". You have 3 tanks on it for water, the first tank is potable (fresh) water this tank holds around 100 gallons of water. the other 2 tanks are waste water. 1 is the black water tank this ios the tank the crapper dumps into. the other tank is called the grey water tank the shower & sinks dump into this.there is a 12 volt puimp that pressurizes the system. to take a shower in a RV & save water You wet down, shut off shower, lather up, then rinse.Stagecoach has trucks to come around if You need more water or to have Yo.ur holding tanks pumped out
The RV has a generator this runs Your A/c & any other 120 volt items
